Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Definitely a Ruthless Person

It wasn't that Henry was cruel, but all these enemies who knew he had acted alone had to die.

Because this battle record was too unreasonable.

Although it could barely be explained, for instance, Henry might have first placed several Winchester rifles with full chambers beside him.

Moreover, these people had originally gone to carry out extermination, so now it could only be said that retribution had arrived.

After finishing the roll call, Henry slowly walked down the hill, trying to collect each cavalryman's corpse as he passed by.

Those that couldn't be collected, he shot once in the chest, and they immediately became collectible.

But Henry wouldn't actually collect these cavalrymen's corpses, just loot each one individually.

More than ten minutes later, the 46 escaped cavalrymen returned to the camp where they had set out.

Ten of them were directly dispatched by Sean, and they immediately returned to Devonshire Manor two miles away.

More than ten minutes later, fifty-something Sean listened to the knights' reports and felt like the sky was about to fall.

He had originally opposed directly attacking the police station in Fresco Town, but unfortunately Ronald was incompetent, having only a handful of three to five helpers in the police station.

As for going to war with Mayor William and the Sinclair family he represented, Sean agreed with this.

Because with such enormous interests involved, the Sinclair family would never yield profits to others after finding out, and if the Sinclair family mobilized most of their family power, they could completely swallow the profits from this huge gold mine.

Combined with the tough attitude of the main family's young faction leader in Denver, Sean ultimately fully executed the main family's plan.

Relying on past connections, he recruited the famous "Evil Wolf" Michael Dorin and his gang, cooperating with the nearly one hundred cavalrymen from the Doug bandit gang hired by the main family, to jointly attack Police Chief Bryan Mills.

After all, Sean was also very clear about Police Chief Bryan Mills' past battle record and current strength.

No matter how strong one's combat capabilities, once trapped in a deadly ambush and surrounded by more than a hundred guns, death was inevitable.

Who could have predicted that although the two ambush teams separated due to Michael's rebelliousness and reckless advancement, Bryan Mills did indeed die, but then Henry appeared out of nowhere!

And this Henry was actually strong enough to kill all the bandit cavalrymen!

When Sean first received this intelligence, he thought he was hearing some mythological story - even legendary hero novels wouldn't dare write like this!

Especially since Henry's background was crystal clear: born and raised in Fresco Town, always a well-behaved, rule-following child.

The only thing special might be his origins, but this branch of the family had long declined, and had appeared even more ordinary since his police chief grandfather died four years ago.

No matter how you looked at it, you couldn't see how Henry could be this strong. How could a child hide from an entire town for so long?!

Regardless, this Henry was definitely a ruthless person, and the feud between the family and him couldn't be resolved.

So Sean agreed to the new plan to ambush Henry, even drawing nearly one-third of his own 58-man guard to participate in the ambush operation.

Either don't act, or when you do act, it must be lethal.

This was Sean's consistent creed.

Moreover, that ranch was already one of the Sinclair family wings that had to be eliminated in the subsequent plan.

But things once again collapsed unexpectedly beyond imagination. This time even his own guard lost half their men, including two of his own nephews.

It really hurt!

Actually being ambushed by more than ten sharpshooters! Could it be that the Sinclair family had figured out the situation so quickly and started counterattacking?

Although Sean was now dejected and completely confused, things still had to be handled quickly to minimize losses as much as possible.

He immediately arranged for someone to send a telegram to the McKinley main family in Denver, 84 miles away.

The Fresco Town telegraph office wouldn't open for about 2 more hours. Sean didn't wait for the results of communicating with Brendan - he immediately deployed 20 knights to accompany the 10 knights who had just returned to the temporary camp to rendezvous with the 36 cavalrymen there, making 66 cavalrymen total.

Sean simultaneously arranged for two cowboys to go to Ronald's house to see what the situation was - the most likely possibility was that something had gone wrong there.

Those 66 cavalrymen would immediately return to the battlefield after rendezvousing to figure out what happened afterward.

About an hour later, Henry finished looting the corpses.

Besides wallets, pistols, and rifles, both Gatling machine guns were collected into his space, and Henry also picked three high-quality saddles.

Next, Henry randomly mounted a horse and rode back to the hilltop, switched back to his police horse, and rode back toward town.

As for the 156 horses in the wilderness, he ignored them all.

After all, this cavalry unit was only going to carry out massacre missions, but they hadn't actually committed any crimes yet, and behind them was the big McKinley family, so this batch of war horses was rather hot to handle.

As for that letter from Sean to Ronald, it bore no signature whatsoever and couldn't serve as evidence at all.

Moreover, their operation was completely cut short by Henry, making it even harder to prove.

Facing this kind of well-established big family with intricate relationships, you either directly eliminate them or pretend to know nothing.

Going to court with them and such was meaningless and unlikely to yield any favorable results, only exposing yourself needlessly and easily inviting retaliation that would be hard to resist on the official level.

Additionally, he had no intention of getting involved with Deputy Police Chief Ronald's disappearance.

Henry changed into a complete set of new shirt, vest, tight riding pants, and high boots in a suitable roadside grove before continuing his return journey.

When he returned the police horse to the police station stable, it was just past 7 AM.

Henry strode back to his own house, quickly took a shower, and completely eliminated the gunpowder smell from his hair.

Then he walked back to the restaurant near the police station for a hearty breakfast.

Except for the sentinel on the tall building at the town entrance and the stable hand at the police station, no one knew Henry had gone out early and returned.

Anyway, no one would come to question Henry in the short term, and even if they did, he could just plead ignorance.

The USA followed Commonwealth law, where the accuser bore the burden of proof.

Collecting evidence against a police chief on his own territory?

Henry expressed a warm welcome - these would all be fresh material for catch and release, the more the better!

While Henry enjoyed his bacon sandwich and steaming hot coffee, he focused his attention on the progress bar.

The progress bar had reached 47.3%.

This time he had killed 156 cavalrymen, many of them elite, and the McKinley family would probably be heartbroken for a long time.

In fact, this operation went so smoothly because Henry used multiple approaches simultaneously - sneak attacks, targeted elimination of large and small commanders among the cavalry, and deliberate creation of chaos.

Even so, he was hit 5 times!

They were just deflected by the white pearl shell.

Henry now had 2 green pearls, 50 white pearls, and 134 gray pearls.

Among them, 2 green pearls and 6 white pearls all had skill essence flowing through them.

He calculated briefly - this was equivalent to having 404 first-level gray pearls.

The plus sign for constitution had indeed lit up.

But there was no need to rush. He was about to be sworn in as police chief, so Henry planned to upgrade his constitution at noon.

Meanwhile, 66 cavalrymen returned to the battlefield. They found that the ambushers had left, and the weapons and belongings on their fallen comrades had all been looted.

The war horses were scattered across the wilderness, with twelve missing.

The two machine guns had disappeared.

After the 66 cavalrymen gathered the war horses and their comrades' corpses, they returned to the temporary camp.

As for that ranch, with their current strength and morale, they really might not be able to attack it, so they could only temporarily give up.
