Kazuto Hoshin walked lazily down the street, his schoolbag slung over his shoulder. His eyes half-closed from another late-night anime binge.
"Man… school again. Same boring classes. If only my life could just… you know, turn into an isekai or something."
"It would be fun!"
He sighed dramatically, hands in his pockets.
Then came the blinding headlights.
HOOONK!
Kazuto froze.
"…Wait. Is that—?!"
BAM!
The truck slammed into him, and everything went black.
A Voice in the Void
Darkness. Weightlessness. Silence.
Kazuto's thoughts echoed. Let me finish my line dude. Hughh... Still I don't want to die…
Then, a deep voice answered.
"Very well. I shall grant your wish."
Kazuto's eyes flickered open. A throne of light appeared before him. Sitting there was a smug-looking god in shining robes, his chin resting on one hand.
"W-Wait. You're… a god?! Like, an actual god?"
The god chuckled.
"Indeed. And I feel sorry for your loss.
Kazuto looks excited in stead of feeling sad.
"It okay. As long as I got reincarnated."
The god laugh.
"I have never seen a person like you."
"Well now I shall grant you a new life in a world of magic and swords."
Kazuto was hyping already. His inner otaku screamed.
"Finally! This is it! A real isekai! Magic academy, adventures, waifus—this is the best day of my life!"
"Uh-huh."
The god waved his hand lazily.
"Here, take some potential, some powers… yada yada. Off you go."
A flash of light swallowed Kazuto before he could even thank him.
A New World
Kazuto groaned as he woke up on cold cobblestone. He slowly pushed himself up and glanced at a puddle nearby. His reflection showed a 17-year-old boy with sharper features, messy black hair, and a uniform-like outfit.
"Oh-ho-ho… not bad, me. Handsome protagonist vibes already."
"Hmm... This uniform looks like a student from Academy School... Wait huh..?
"If my thoughts were right, My storyline must be a ordinary student with OP powers.."
Standing, he looked around until his eyes landed on a massive building up ahead, flying banners marked Arcana Magic Academy.
His heart raced. "Yessss! It's always a magic school! My time has come!"
The Entrance Exam
Inside the academy hall, students lined up in front of a glowing crystal. Each one stepped forward, their stats displayed for all to see. Nobles bragged about their numbers. Commoners prayed for at least a decent rank.
Kazuto smirked.
"This is it. My grand reveal. Everyone will surprise when they see my S-rank potential."
Instructor:"Next."
Kazuto: "I'm Kazuto Hoshin. Future strongest mage, nice to meet you all."
He stepped onto the crystal. It pulsed with bright light. Letters and numbers began to appear:
Strength: SSS
Agility: SSS
Potential: SSS
Mana: 96500
Everyone in the hall were stunned. Even the hero doesn't have these kind of stats. Some teachers and students were wispering about him.
"Woh! I can't believe mu eyes."
"Is he the chosen one from the god?"
"He must be the next hero."
Everyone were proud of Kazuto. He feel like he will have a life he has never been before in his life.
You think this is it? Nah it was all his imaginations. In reality it was opposite of it. Now let's back to reality. When he stepped onto the crystal it brightened with pure and the letters and numbers began to appear as following:
Strength: B+
Agility: A-
Potential: S
Mana: … 0
Silence. Then the crystal chimed:
" You have great stats but since you don't have mana you rank will be F."
The hall erupted in laughter.
"Zero mana?!"
"How it is possible? Is something wrong with crystal or maybe is he really doesn't have mana?"
"What kind of stats is this?!"
Kazuto's eyes widened.
"WAIT. ZERO?! That's illegal! Even the kids have mana!"
He pointed to the heavens.
"GOD! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! You destroyed my entire plan for being overpowered!"
POV: The Divine Realm
The god peeked into his crystal ball.
"…Oh crap."
Another god walked by.
"What did you forget this time?"
"Mana."
"…You forgot to give him mana?!"
"Look, okay, I handle like fifty reincarnations a day. Sometimes things slip. I'm basically running a fantasy DMV here!"
"How could you forget the most important thing? Hughh.."
"Well at least you didn't forget to give him HP."
The two gods shook their heads, sipping tea.
"Welp… let's see how he survives."
"I feel bad for him in stead of you."
Back to Kazuto
Kazuto groaned, rubbing his temples.
"So this is how it's gonna be, huh? Reincarnated, yes. Overpowered? Nope. Does the god wants me to be a magician without mana?"
He turned toward the readers with a deadpan expression.
"Absolute Cinema."
"I'm cooked"
The instructor coughed.
"Hoshin Kazuto… you've been assigned to F-class."
Kazuto's jaw dropped.
"The trash class?! The dungeon-cleaning, mop-the-floor, human-paperweight class?!"
The crowd roared with laughter as Kazuto dragged his feet toward the old, shabby classroom. Dusty desks. Broken chairs. Only rejects inside.
And yet, despite the humiliation, he couldn't help but grin.
"Fine. If this world wants to laugh at me, I'll just laugh last. Zero mana or not, I'll find a way to break the system. Mark my words—this F-rank is going to rise to S-rank."
The wooden door creaked as he stepped inside F-class.
His story had just begun.
