Maria is getting ready.
Why?
Aghh!
A guy and his family are coming to see her.
So, her family forced her to wear the most decent dress that covers her almost every part of the body!
Outrageous!
Has anybody bother to ask? Whether she is ready or not? No! No body cares for her in her family.
"Don't make this poker face all the time. You are already very ugly. What if the guy runs away?" Her mom scolded while making her hair.
Maria whined," Mom! Just tell me that i am not your real daughter. Confess the fact already, which temple did you pick me from?"
Her mom was ruthless," From riverside!"
Maria almost cried while shaking her body," Mom!"
Her mom scolded her," Ofo! Don't move. I am making your hair"
" Hey... They are asking for Maria. Is it still not done?" Riya peeks through the door with an innocent face while staring at Maria's murderous eyes in mirror. Riya blinks her eyes innocently.
Her mom said," Okay, It's done!" She made Maria stood up. Mom's eyes lit up seeing her art," Waah! I can't believe myself that i did this make up. Once the guy likes you, i will think about opening a parlour." She fantasized smilingly.
Maria and Riya both were fed up." Mom!" They shouted in unison startling the innocent MOM.
Lisa aka Mom made stern expression," Okay fine, let's go. And don't you dare behave unruly in front of them otherwise i will make you sleep on the road tonight"
Maria was forced to nod. Damn! Which lizard came to see her? What did he do to convince her stubborn mom? He must not be a good person! And he mustn't be good looking. Or.. is it some bald.. fat stinky and toothless guy? Maria shook her head trying to shatter the nightmare imagination! No, she must not let this marriage happen! Never!
Three of them with Riya and Lisa on both sides of maria went to the hall where the guy and his family were sitting and chatting with the head of this family... Maria's father!
When a guy comes to see a daughter, then the father gets instinctively vigilant. But in this scenario, the reality was different. Her father was laughing and talking as if he was the one who is the real father of the guy and came to see for daughter in law! Really? Nothing and nobody is normal in this world!
Maria sat on the sofa with her head lowered as if some shy and embarrassed girl. But who will expose her real ugly expression that she was trying to hide from these innocent people.
She is just 22. Doesn't want to get married! No!
" Maria seems to be too shy!'' The guy's mother spoke smilingly.
" Yes, yes. You don't need to be so shy child. Just be comfortable." The guy's father spoke in a friendly tone while sipping the tea.
What be comfortable? This is her house okay! She clenched the clothes restlessly but to other people she seemed as if she was extremely nervous.
" The clothes will be torn if you grab them so tightly!" The deep voice came out in a sarcastic tone.
Maria lost her patience. She looked up and was just about to scold the fat stinky guy just then..... her eyes went larger, and mouth was widely opened! She was shocked.
The guy was amused seeing Maria's reaction," Are you okay? If you are hungry, then you can eat this!" He pushed the snacks that was on the table to Maria's side.
But Maria's expressions were still uglier than crocodile.
Fat and stinky... where has the fatness gone? This guy seems to be too fit. And hair... if she calls this head that was full of black soft hair a bald head, then the country might abolish her... And face... why is it so perfect?
" Greetings, Maria" Lisa shook maria slightly as if warning her.
Maria came to her senses. She shook her head left right trying to summon up the consciousness and adjusted a polite smile on her face," Hello uncle, Hi auntie"
She struggled to sound polite.
" Hey, why would you ignore me? Greet me too!" The handsome guy joked and everybody laughed. Maria smiled at the guy and lowered her head.
" If you guys want to talk privately then just go and talk. Don't care about elders. We are fine" Maria's father suggested to which everybody smilingly agreed.
The handsome guy smiled while staring at maria who never lifted her head up," If she is okay, then i would like to take a short walk with her"
Lisa said with friendly laughter while forcing Maria to stand up," Hey... Why would she not agree! Even if she doesn't agree, her parents order you to lift her up and just go. It's fine!" Everybody laughed.
Maria gritted her teeth. She really is an adopted daughter. She stood up and followed the handsome guy outside.
" You haven't asked my name yet!" The handsome guy complained as soon as they got out of the door.
Maria was stunned." I, I.. What is your name?" She couldn't react properly seeing that A-one face.
The handsome guy smiled," Van"
His smile was too attractive. Maria forgot to blink.
May be her expression was too obvious that the Van joked," Am I that handsome?"
Maria was startled and she immediately lowered her head. She cursed. Damn!
Both of them were walking in the park and for a time nobody talked.
Maybe it was too awkward that maria sensed and she initiated and raised her voice," Why, why did you come to ask for me? I, I mean... why me?" She was too embarrassed because of her broken ugly voice that came out of the nervousness.
Van chuckled,'' My family suggested!"
Doesn't know why but Maria was disappointed with Van's answer.
What? Like a hero in the film, he secretly loves heroine for many years and finally boost up his confidence and bring his family to come ask for marriage? Is this a film? Are you a heroine? Even if you are to be compared with Van's attractiveness, he is a star when you an existence below the mud!
Shit!
"What are you thinking?" Van's voice startled her.
Maria shook her head and said," Nothing.'' She gritted her teeth, summoned up the energy, let out a long sigh and suddenly stopped walking.
Seeing maria stopped walking, Van automatically stopped. He raised his eyebrows while staring at Maria.
Maria pressed her lips and finally confessed while closing her eyes tightly,'' I am forced in this marriage! I am just 22. I don't want to get married. If you try to force me, I will run away!" She spitted all of it in single breathe.
