Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Demon

"My lord, what should we do next? "

The black-haired demon casually tossed Yuu Kamado next to Kie, then suddenly spoke in a respectful tone.

At that moment, standing atop the small wooden cabin, braving the raging blizzard, was a man wearing a black patterned suit and a white top hat.

The face revealed beneath the hat brim was extraordinarily handsome.

Despite the howling wind and snow, not a single strand of his hair was out of place, nor did his immaculate clothing show any wrinkles.

This man was named Kibutsuji Muzan, the original demon who had existed for over a thousand years, the absolute ruler of demons, the king of demons.

Kibutsuji Muzan lowered his head slightly, his eyes holding an inexplicable expression, as if lost in thought.

In a flash, he appeared inside the cabin, his back turned to Yuu Kamado.

Kibutsuji looked down at his toes, where a spot of red stained them, for the ground where he stood was completely covered in blood.

It seemed the protector of the Kamado family had truly perished.

"Too bloody, Kurokami. Be elegant. "

The black-haired demon immediately dropped to his knees, not caring about the blood and filth covering the floor. His entire body trembled, a stark contrast to his previously arrogant demeanor, his ferocious face now filled with terror.

"Please forgive me, my lord. This subordinate will definitely be more careful next time. "

However, Kibutsuji said calmly, "There won't be a next time for you. "

The black-haired demon froze, the fear on his face intensifying.

"My lord. . . "

Before he could finish speaking, a thick arm violently burst out from his mouth, causing the black-haired demon immense agony.

Demons feel pain no differently from ordinary humans.

As the now-deceased black-haired demon died, his body gradually turned into reddish-black ashes, dissipating within the blizzard-battered wooden cabin.

Until his death, Kibutsuji never once looked directly at him.

Kibutsuji first glanced at Kie and Yuu Kamado, then turned his gaze toward the bodies of Nezuko and the others on the other side.

At that moment, he seemed to spot a target that caught his interest, his previously calm eyes lighting up.

"This little girl, you shall carry my expectations and continue living as a demon. "

Kibutsuji's target was a little girl with round cheeks no larger than the palm of a hand.

Her clear, bright eyes had become lifeless, and her originally fair, glowing chubby cheeks had turned pale and sickly from blood loss. It was Nezuko.

On Nezuko's small face, the happy smile she had while sleeping beside her family still remained.

In their sleep, Nezuko and the others had their necks broken, feeling no pain.

Taking light steps, Kibutsuji walked toward Nezuko.

But then he felt a tight grip around his ankle, causing him to pause in surprise and stop walking.

Kibutsuji looked down and saw Yuu, his hands covered in blood, tightly clutching his ankle.

"Hmm? Still conscious? "

Kibutsuji found it strange. He was well aware of the black-haired demon's actions—those iron-like fingers had shattered the bones in Yuu's face. Without treatment, such injuries would undoubtedly be fatal.

Yet despite such severe wounds, he still retained enough consciousness to hinder him.

"Weak and useless, but I quite like this final struggle for the sake of family. " Kibutsuji said with interest.

As for Yuu, his consciousness hadn't completely faded into darkness yet, but it was blurred, his ability to think gone.

Kibutsuji crouched down and spoke softly to Yuu.

"You seem to be in great pain now. Let go—death can also be a form of release. You don't have the power to change any of this. "

"Remember, weakness is the greatest sin. "

At that moment, all signs of life had completely faded from Yuu, his body turning stiff.

Kibutsuji stood up, moving his leg to break free from Yuu's grip, his powerful force causing Yuu's entire body to slide.

But Yuu still tightly, desperately held onto Kibutsuji's ankle without loosening his grip.

Kibutsuji tried again, finding the result unchanged from before.

He shook his head, then lightly waved his hand. A cold glint flashed, and Yuu's arm—from shoulder to fingertips—shattered completely, no longer able to hold onto Kibutsuji.

"Not letting go even after death? How interesting. "

"In that case. . . I'll turn both you and that girl into demons. In the future, when you've grown stronger, you'll serve me together. "

Kibutsuji slit his wrist, and a line of blood floated out from the wound before splitting into two mid-air, each entering the mouths of Yuu and Nezuko.

"I look forward to meeting you both again. "

Kibutsuji slightly lowered his top hat, then flickered and disappeared from the shabby cabin.

All that remained was a floor covered in blood, corpses, and a pair of siblings undergoing demonification.

Hungry! Hungry! Hungry! Hungry! Hungry!

After a while, Yuu slowly opened his eyes, his vision seemingly tinged with a hint of blood red.

By now, both his arms had completely regenerated, the five bloody holes on his cheeks and the bone fractures had vanished without a trace—no injuries remained on his body.

Kibutsuji had transformed Yuu into a demon using his own blood.

Aside from certain special methods that could counter them, demons were essentially immortal and indestructible, healing injuries with effortless ease.

Yuu's consciousness remained blurred, his body driven by instinct as he fed on the bloodstains on the ground.

Soon, unsatisfied with just the blood on the floor, Yuu followed the trail of blood to its source.

It was a face he could never forget—his mother, Kie's.

Fresh blood continuously spilled from the wound on Kie's neck.

When Yuu saw Kie's pale, lifeless face, his mind shook violently, jolting him back to awareness.

"What have I done! "

At that moment, everything he had done earlier clearly unfolded in Yuu's mind, plunging him into agony and self-loathing.

He tightly covered his mouth with both hands, painful, low growls escaping from his throat.

But after just a few seconds of clarity, the sweet scent of blood grew even stronger, and the hunger in his stomach remained far from satisfied.

His consciousness blurred again, and Yuu's eyes—unlike their usual reddish hue—gradually turned completely blood red.

He struggled to control his body, wanting to get away from Kie.

But his demonic nature proved stronger, making Yuu unable to resist releasing his hands from his mouth, opening his blood-stained jaws to reveal the sharp fangs within.

Yuu's face twisted in agony, yet he slowly drew closer to Kie.

The corners of his mouth stretched to their limit, ready to bite down.
