Chapter 404 - Chapter 1245: Investigation Hits a roadblock

Jack still had some recollection of Harry dancing and picking up a girl during his undercover mission.

After all, for most Serbs, the famous tango "Por Una Cabeza" (One Step Away) is inextricably linked to two classic screen images: Al Pacino's carefree portrayal of a blind officer in "Scent of a Woman" and Schwarzenegger's elegant disguise as a secret agent in "True Lies."

While imitators abound, aside from Angelina Jolie's breathtaking dance with a gun in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," the rest are mere imitations, hardly even parodies.

Speaking of which, Jack still hadn't asked Michael Weston if he truly had an ex-girlfriend with whom he'd been in a constant state of love and hate, nor did he know if his ex-girlfriend had ever been flirted with by a blind old man who looked exactly like the Godfather.

As Gibson had mentioned, a week earlier, Omega agents infiltrated Jamal Khaled's villa in Geneva, Switzerland. More precisely, Harry went in alone, while he and the Indian man, Fisher, provided support outside.

After completing their mission and nearing evacuation, villa security noticed something was amiss and began a covert inspection of the guests.

To conceal his identity, Harry casually grabbed a beautiful woman and walked onto the dance floor, where they danced a tango to the accompaniment of "Por Una Cabeza."

Afterward, the woman in a red dress gave Harry her business card, clearly aroused.

Hearing this, Jack whistled and, with a look of eager interest, asked Gibson, "How beautiful was that woman?"

"Not so beautiful that Jamal Khaled would pay an extra $5 million for her," Harry continued grumpily.

Later, while examining Jamal Khaled's secret bank account, they discovered that he had transferred a large sum of money, via seven shell companies, to the offshore account of Juno Skinner, the beautiful woman Harry had seduced.

"We discovered that Juno Skinner was an antique dealer, or more accurately, an antique broker, operating in a gray area, acquiring ancient Persian art for wealthy individuals."

The three Omega agents suspected something fishy was going on, as the transactions were conducted through legitimate accounts, making the $5 million in hidden funds particularly conspicuous.

They then discovered that Juno Skinner had returned to the United States a few days ago and was currently working on some Ancient Persian translation work for the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

So, Harry went to Juno Skinner's office, using the alias Rehnquist, whom he had used at the ball, and falsely claimed to be looking to purchase some Persian artifacts for a client.

"You were attacked right after leaving her office, right?" Rossi pondered. "Are you sure Rehnquist's identity hasn't been exposed?"

"Rehnquist's cover identity is absolutely reliable," Gibson assured him. "The shell company we registered in Zurich has been operating for seven years, with virtual transactions every month.

There's even a long-term suite at the Marriott Hotel booked in Rehnquist's name, which even contains a half-finished bottle of Macallan 25 Years."

"This shows that the other party is extremely sensitive." Rossi sighed. "If you don't mind the FBI joining this investigation, I will coordinate with the NSA to synchronize the latest intelligence on 'Dark Jihad' as soon as possible."

Jack added, "We also need to quickly identify engineers in related fields. Although 'Dark Jihad' has always been radical, judging by their previous style of action, their organizational and planning capabilities are no less than those of some established terrorist organizations."

Harry and Gibson exchanged a glance, then both stood up and extended their right hands to Rossi and Jack. "Thank you for your assistance. "

——Rossi

returned to Quantico. He is still stationed in Los Angeles with the BAU team. This time he came back just to handle some daily work.

Jack stayed with the Omega team, assisting them in investigating the "nuclear crisis."

"What's this?" Harry curiously took the thick document Jack handed him and read the title. "New Mexico Lincoln National Park Investigation Report?"

"It's clear you and your daughter have kept some secrets between us. Jessie and I have known each other for years. You'll understand after reading this report."

Almost a third of the report was written by Jack himself, detailing the entire incident.

While Harry was reading it, Jack searched the NSA system for the information on the Middle Eastern man who had escaped the attack by leaping onto a motorcycle into the swimming pool of the building across the street.

Salim Abu Aziz, nicknamed "Desert Spider," was a 38-year-old Saudi, the founder and leader of Dark Jihad, a true "young and promising" figure.

"Yes, it's him. I remember his eyes." Harry, putting away the report, immediately recognized the man from Jack's computer screen.

"We've already informed the DHS and the CIA, but since they're completely unaware of Aziz's presence in the country, I don't think we'll be able to find him anytime soon."

Gibson said, curiously trying to take the report from Harry, but Jack snatched it away and tucked it back into the file.

"Trust me, some things are better left unseen," Harry said, patting his partner's shoulder with a distressed look.

The report was so thick because it contained numerous photos.

Jason's SEALs were equipped with body cameras, and the devastation in the kitchen, especially during the cleanup of the ogre's cabin, was truly impressive.

The investigation didn't go smoothly over the next few days. Both Juno Skinner and Aziz vanished without a trace.

Jack and Harry staked out Juno Skinner's office for three days without success, finding no suspicious individuals.

Apparently, realizing they might be exposed, they abandoned the area.

The CIA had also been unable to locate the three nuclear warheads, and with the mission about to turn into a long-term investigation, Jack had to consider whether to return to New York.

Three days of surveillance yielded no progress, but it did allow Jack and Harry to become more familiar with each other.

After all, two men in the same room couldn't possibly be completely silent, and chatting was the only way to relieve boredom.
