Chapter 262 - Chapter 1103: Hospital love triangle

Air embolism is a general term for a series of clinical symptoms caused by the entry of air into the bloodstream, the most common being decompression sickness.

When diving deeper than ten meters and suddenly ascending to the surface, the sudden change in pressure can cause inert gases previously dissolved in the blood to suddenly lose pressure, forming bubbles.

These bubbles can clog blood vessels and, in severe cases, cause shock and death. Similarly, nurses hold a syringe upright before administering an injection to remove any bubbles.

However, accurately injecting air into a blood vessel and causing instant death is not something that anyone can do; even Jack requires considerable practice.

He didn't quite understand the killer's approach. Since he could knock the victim unconscious and had a syringe at hand, it would have been much simpler to stab him directly into the hollow at the back of the head.

There, he could bypass the hard skull and directly damage the medulla oblongata, leaving little scar.

"Given the current abysmal state of healthcare and the increasingly tense doctor-patient conflict, even if medical staff are murdered every day, it wouldn't be surprising.

But it's a bit strange when medical staff kill each other."

Perhaps because he and Jack are now quite familiar with each other, Beckett doesn't hold back when complaining privately.

The three of them have arrived at the county hospital. Perhaps because it's a public hospital, the corridors are quite busy, with medical staff rushing by and armed security guards watching closely.

Cassel looks experienced, and it's unclear where his confidence comes from. "This place is full of betrayal, temptation, and incestuous relationships.

Doctors are the most prone to office romances. They love to have sex with colleagues after busy work. I bet there are probably two doctors hanging out in a break room in this hospital right now."

Jack pulled his mind away from a past romantic memory and cast a disdainful look at him with Beckett.

"You must have watched too many medical dramas. Most doctors actually prefer to sleep with people outside their field, like the police. Am I right, Detective Beckett?"

"Who told you that? Jiejie or Hannah? Damn, could it be Lanny? I'm going to kill her." The long-legged female detective clutched her forehead, deeply regretting her misjudgment.

"What do you mean? One of your exes was a doctor? What doctor? A urologist? A proctologist?" Cassel's smile was filled with malice, and of course, a hint of sourness beneath.

  "Don't tell me he's a gynecologist?"

"He's a heart surgeon. We used to be motorcycle enthusiasts, but that was a long time ago," Beckett said bluntly. "

Wow, a heart surgeon, that's incredible..."

Doctors hold a very high social status among the average American, and heart surgeons are among the highest-paid physicians in the country.

If being a bestselling author implies popularity, then being an excellent heart surgeon is no less lucrative and respected, and perhaps even more so.

After all, the latter is a noble profession, saving lives.

Because they had made an appointment in advance, the three of them were able to meet Dr. Monroe in his office

. He was a middle-aged black man in a suit and a gold bow tie. "Even patients, tormented and dying, would smile from the bottom of their hearts whenever they saw Dr. Monroe walk through the door.

"Her death is a tremendous loss for us. The hospital will fully cooperate with the police investigation. Please feel free to ask for anything you need."

The director wiped his eyes with a silk handkerchief as he spoke.

Although his demeanor was somewhat official, he was highly cooperative, providing detailed personal information about Dr. Valerie Monroe, such as the fact that she had a brother living in San Diego and no boyfriend.

The director also mentioned that before leaving work last night, he had seen Dr. Monroe talking alone with a nurse from the hospital. Although he didn't hear the specifics of the conversation, he noticed that the nurse looked visibly flustered.

The director had asked Dr. Monroe if anything had happened, but she replied that it was just a minor personal matter that had been resolved. As

the three of them left the director's office and waited at the nurses' station for Nurse McClintock, Cassel began to unleash his ingenious ideas.

"A personal matter with a nurse—you're probably thinking the same thing as me, right?"

Beckett and Jack exchanged glances, each catching a smile in the other's eyes.

"I think it might be different." "Although he sometimes finds this guy really annoying, Beckett never denies that his creative ideas can indeed help him solve cases, but he can't indulge him too much.

"It's a hospital love triangle, it's just too obvious." Cassel's gossip fire was burning so fiercely that it was almost visible to the naked eye.

"Think about it, our Dr. Monroe was secretly having a hot affair with someone who was considered a 'dream lover' by everyone in the hospital, until one day she ran into him and the playful and cute little nurse McClintock in the lounge, flirting and being affectionate with each other.

So inevitably, a quarrel broke out between Dr. Monroe and the nurse, and it even developed into a life-and-death fight in the end."

"I know your life has been boring lately, so I asked you to go to Las Vegas, but how many boring skits have you watched during this time?"

This time even Jack frowned, the smell was really too strong.

"This is the plot of your new Shangri-La skit "Cool Doctor and Naughty Nurse". Is there a problem? "Caselle raised his eyebrows at him.

"Do you know how many more covert ways of killing that I'm proficient in than injecting air into blood vessels? I guarantee that even Lanny will be helpless against this." Jack responded with a dangerous evil smile.

Castle was frightened and hid behind Beckett, but still insisted, "No matter what, I insist that this Nurse McClintock is definitely a super sexy hottie."

"Excuse me, which one is Detective Beckett?"

At this time, a sunny and handsome guy with red lips and white teeth, wearing a red T-shirt representing his identity as a nurse, walked up to the three people. He was in his early 20s at most. At first glance, he gave people the impression of a younger version of Tom Cruise, and he was over 180 cm tall.

Although he was not as handsome as Jack, he was at least at the peak level of Leonardo DiCaprio's appearance.

"Who are you?" Castle's sense of crisis was instantly aroused. He cleared his throat and stepped forward half a body to block Beckett.
