Chapter 192 - Chapter 1033: New Year's Snowy Night (13)

As Jack expected, two corrupted police officers were stationed in the detention area, gazing through night vision goggles from either side of the passageway.

The weaknesses of their police equipment were now fully exposed. Signal blocking prevented the station from calling for help, but it also hampered battlefield communications. At least the frequency-hopping capabilities of the communicators used by the corrupted police officers weren't adequate to withstand such a severe signal blockage.

While the commander could deploy troops from outside the signal blockade, he couldn't communicate instantly with his subordinates who had entered the station's perimeter. The corrupted police officers were forced to act separately according to their prearranged plan.

They had no idea of the progress of their comrades attacking from other directions, nor any information on casualties.

After the two comrades who had entered through the air vent lost contact, two more corrupted police officers were dispatched. They threw several stun grenades into the area before trepidatiously entering.

By then, the detention area was already empty. The four prisoners, all released by Ronik, were searching the evidence room for usable weapons. The stun grenades had been ineffective.

The two corrupted police officers found the gruesome bodies of their two companions in the holding area and hesitated. However, the faint sounds of explosions and gunfire from the front door clearly indicated that the fighting was still going on.

As they hesitated, Jack had already entered the office closest to the holding area.

A soft rustling sounded behind him, accompanied by the scent of perfume, which diluted the lingering stench of smoke and blood.

Jack glared at the psychiatrist who was creeping behind him. Without saying a word, he pointed to the office door, signaling that the enemy was outside.

"I'll help you," Alex cleverly said, staying close to Jack and making exaggerated mouth movements.

The woman had clearly ignored Jack's warnings and was still wearing her backless dress, shivering with cold.

She had, however, removed her high heels and walked barefoot the entire way. Otherwise, Jack wouldn't have noticed her following him just now.

The two corrupt officers in the holding area were still hesitantly staring down the hallway. After a flurry of incoherent conversation, the two hiding in the room finally gave way to Jack, who, unable to bear it any longer, pulled Alex close to him and whispered something in her ear.

"We need to lure them both over here. They have night vision goggles, and I can't handle both at once at this range."

Alex's eyes lit up, her chest deliberately thrust out. Her already carefully designed evening gown slid down even further with the gesture, creating two graceful curves across Jack's chest.

"I'll be the bait. That's how I and those three just took down that bad guy,"

she said, even lifting her skirt, causing Jack to roll his eyes.

He had no idea what had happened, but he assumed Alex had feigned a frightened and pitiful appearance to distract the other party before suddenly launching a surprise attack.

This corresponded to the scream and subsequent gunfire, and the three prisoners who had heard the noise rushed in to finish off the attacker.

But Jack was certain that if Alex tried the same trick again, she would be blasted to pieces the moment she appeared in the hallway by the two highly nervous, corrupted police officers.

After all, under the infrared night vision goggles, even the whitest and tightest thighs would only appear as two long red streaks.

However, her bad idea gave Jack an idea. With a quick glance, he reached directly into the slit of her dress.

Alex's eyes widened instantly, but she stared at him silently, bewildered by his sudden desire for mercy at such a moment.

Jack's eyes widened as well, not in surprise at the egg-like smoothness of his hand, but in confusion as to how she'd managed to hold back a scream. Could it be that psychologists' mental abilities were just as unusual?

  "Scream!"

The two unconventional men's actions had unexpectedly backfired. Helpless, Jack could only whisper softly into Alex's ear, applying slight pressure with his palm.

  "Ah~~~"

Alex's scream trembled slightly, sounding less like terror than enjoyment.

The gunfire from the front door gradually faded, gradually becoming inaudible. The two black police officers leaning against the entrance, already feeling ready to retreat, perked up by the scream. They exchanged glances and nodded, then stepped into the hallway, one in front and one behind, providing cover.

Jack's ears twitched slightly, blocking out the rapid heartbeat of the beauty before him. He leaned his head against the wall, silently counting the footsteps in the hallway.

Figuring his time was almost up, he shoved Alex aside, fumbled for a stun grenade, pulled the safety pin, waited two seconds, and flung it into the hallway with a flick of his arm.

The blazing noise had little effect on those wearing earmuffs, but the accompanying glare instantly blinded the two police officers wearing night vision goggles.

Modern night vision goggles have automatic light filtering, and the CMOS sensors, protected by circuitry, are less susceptible to damage, but older models recover more slowly.

The two police officers' immediate reaction after being blinded was to pull up their night vision goggles. The slight delay they lost was enough for Jack, who had already prepared his attack.

He leaped from the room like lightning, ducking to avoid the reflexive muzzle of the police officer in front of him, and before the other officer could pull the trigger, he had already pulled the trigger on his SIG Sauer.

The bullet penetrated the corrupt officer's chin, the 10mm hollow-point bullet carrying a spurt of blood straight to his skull. After piercing the thick skull, it finally lodged helplessly on the inside of his helmet, leaving a small, leaden spark. The

other corrupt officer following behind him hadn't even realized what had happened when he felt the grip of his assault rifle tighten, the muzzle involuntarily lifted toward the ceiling.

He instinctively pulled the trigger, and the bullet blasted out, sending dust raining down from the corridor ceiling.

The silencer also served as a flame suppressant. A barely perceptible flash of cold light flashed through the faint gunfire, and the corrupt officer felt a slight pain under his left armpit.

As if something had drained his strength, a feeling of weakness instantly spread through his body, his legs giving way and he collapsed to his knees.

Jack didn't try to remove the dagger that had penetrated his heart from his armpit. Instead, he dragged the man into the room. With such a mortal wound, it didn't matter whether he let the blood flow out or not; pulling it out would only cause it to spread everywhere.

After discovering that all the corrupt police officers who broke into the police station were wearing similar equipment, he had an idea, but the timing was not right yet and he needed to wait.
