If the story had ended there, it would have been nothing more than an unexpected tragedy. While Fred Duncan Jr. was the culprit, the entire case wasn't particularly shattering.
However, when Jiejie and Hannah reported the vehicle driven by Todd Carter and Vicki Brokaw through the Pennsylvania State Police system, they quickly received a response.
In the small town of Bryn Mawr, a family had just been murdered. A couple in their sixties had been murdered. Neighbors heard gunshots and called the police. Upon arrival, they discovered an older Infiniti sedan in the driveway of the residence.
This Infiniti was the one driven by Todd Carter and Vicki Brokaw. The Most Wanted Squad soon arrived and were surprised to find the bodies of the two men in the trunk.
The case suddenly became complicated. Jubal speculated that Todd Carter and Vicki Brokaw had been murdered by Fred Duncan Jr., but this didn't explain the tragic deaths of the elderly couple in the house.
They were Sally and Dan Wiggins. Dan Wiggins had been shot in the head, likely with the same 9mm pistol Todd Carter had used at the family arcade the day before.
Meanwhile, Sally Wiggins had been bludgeoned to death with a poker placed in front of the fireplace. The scene was gruesome.
Clearly a typical revenge killing, Alice dug into Sally Wiggins's past, specifically her and her husband's finances.
She discovered a pre-marital account belonging to Sally Wiggins, totaling $250,000, dating back over 30 years.
Although the money had been divided into smaller installments and took almost a year to arrive, it was still a significant sum in the 1990s, $250,000.
Alice quickly traced the source of the funds: a company called FD Entertainment, owned by Fred Duncan Jr.'s father, Fred Sr. Fred
Sr. died in 2010, and Fred Jr. inherited his estate, including the entertainment properties. However, due to poor management, the business has been losing money in recent years, to the point where he now resorts to insurance fraud to pay off his son William's gambling debts.
Finding this connection, the team focused on Sally Wiggins, who was the sole witness in a rape and murder case.
In 1935, a girl named Jessica Booker, the daughter of the Duncans' gardener, was found dead in the Duncan mansion. The murderer was identified as Angelo Carpenter.
Angelo was tutoring Fred Duncan Jr. for a living. On the night of the murder, only three people were present in the house: Angelo Carpenter, Fred Jr., and Sally, the Duncans' housekeeper.
The prosecution's sole evidence for the conviction was Sally's testimony that Angelo had assaulted Jessica and then pushed her down the stairs, killing her.
For the past 35 years, Angelo has been appealing his conviction, claiming that Fred Sr. bribed the housekeeper, Sally, to perjure him and that Fred Jr. was the true murderer.
But even after spending the full 35 years in prison, transformed from a naive young man into a 50-year-old, his appeals remain unsuccessful.
Three weeks ago, Angelo was released from prison and began his revenge plan.
He first targeted Fred Jr.'s son, William, but was too late. By the time he entered the arcade, it was already engulfed in flames.
Seeing William lying in a pool of blood, Angelo mistakenly believed he had been shot and killed. He wrote the name "Assassin" on an old game console and followed the arsonist couple.
He then killed the two men and obtained Fred Jr.'s anonymous phone number from them. However, Angelo did not immediately kill him. Instead, he drove the car containing the bodies to the home of Sally, the housekeeper, and murdered her and her husband.
Meanwhile, the Most Wanted team also tracked down another person with knowledge of the rape and murder case 35 years prior: William Duncan's sister, Fred Jr.'s daughter, Rachel Dunn.
Rachel Dunn had discovered her father's crimes, but when she reported them to her mother, she was shocked to discover not only that her mother turned a blind eye, but that her grandfather had even shielded her son and framed others.
She ran away from home in anger, changed her last name from Duncan to Dunn, and ceased contact with the Duncan family.
After learning all this, the Most Wanted team concluded that Angelo's target of revenge was the entire Duncan family, including Rachel Dunn, who had changed her name.
However, by the time they realized this, it was too late. Rachel Dunn's underage daughter, Ellie, had already been kidnapped by Angelo, who then abducted Fred Jr.
Angelo's revenge plan then reached its climax, and its most shattering moment. He took the two to the Duncan family estate, the scene of the tragic murder 35 years prior.
It's important to note that because Rachel Dunn had been disowned by her family at a young age, Fred Jr. was unaware of his granddaughter.
In the Duncan mansion, in the very bedroom where Fred Jr. had assaulted Jessica, Angelo explained everything to the couple, who had never met before. Angelo
then pointed a gun at Fred Jr. and demanded he repeat his previous assault right there in the bedroom.
A gruesome scene unfolded. Faced with the threat, the now gray-haired Fred Jr. succumbed.
Fortunately, the wanted criminal team tracked Angelo's whereabouts through surveillance footage and guessed his destination.
Tragedy could have been far from over if Hannah hadn't rushed into the Duncan estate and forcefully kicked down the bedroom door.
The story's ending was far from dramatic, and even somewhat unsettling.
Angelo was caught up by Clay and Aubrey while escaping. Not wanting to go to jail again, he raised his gun and tried to resist, but was shot dead.
The main culprit in the whole incident, the most damnable little Fred, survived with only some insignificant "minor injuries", a heavy kick between the legs from Hannah.
Fortunately, innocent Ellie was just a little frightened, but according to Jiejie's judgment, she may need to go through quite a period of psychological counseling.
Jack, who heard the whole case, also said that it was difficult to comment on this. He didn't even know how to comfort everyone's "traumatized" hearts. Anyway, this time it was definitely not something that could be solved by just having a good meal.
I wanted to take a break, but I ended up typing. I heard that this typhoon might be quite strong. Thinking about what would happen if the Internet or power was cut off, I'd better keep the leave application.
