Chapter 48 - Chapter 888: Crime City (23)

Ma Xidao subconsciously glanced at his fist, then at Jack again, his eyes filled with confusion. Fortunately, he had personally experienced the strength of this FBI agent before, so he didn't hesitate.

"You didn't beat him to death, did you?"

Jack was so busy showing off that he hadn't paid attention to controlling his strength. He was currently examining Richie. Fortunately, the Yakuza was in relatively good physical condition.

Although he had broken many ribs and spinal damage, he was at least halfway there. He could spend six months in the hospital and then go to prison peacefully.

"Who are you?" Ma Xidao was about to call for help and an ambulance when his eyes suddenly fixed on the hotel entrance.

There stood two tall figures, both dressed in striking white US Navy uniforms.

"That doesn't seem like your style, Jack." Looking at the mess before him, Braxton tutted and kicked away the wakizashi on the ground in front of him, knocking out the only Yakuza who hadn't fainted and was still struggling to reach for his weapon.

"They're my friends," Jack explained briefly, then urged the Wolf brothers, "Hurry up, you only have ten minutes at most."

Chris and Braxton had naturally been summoned by Jack's earlier call, but they were unfamiliar with the area and only found their way there after receiving the location.

Although they hadn't contributed much to the fight, the two brothers were experts at cleaning up the mess, quickly pulling four black travel bags from the back room.

"These are all Korean won, around 500 million." Chris placed one of the bags on the ground.

Ma Xidao quickly waved, "You guys take them all."

Chris, true to his usual reserved nature, didn't waste any time, picking up the bags again and leaving. Braxton, however, smiled and raised his chin at Ma Xidao.

  "Let's have a fight sometime."

"Oh, by the way," he paused again, a sly grin curling his lips. "Remember to have the police search the cold storage out back; there's a surprise."

Jack and Ma Xidao stood at the hotel entrance, watching the two brothers disappear into the night in a Hummer they'd scavenged from nowhere. A shrill wailing of police sirens echoed from the other side of the road.

"They're just forgetting it, pretending I didn't ask."

Seeing Ma Xidao hesitate, Jack waved his hand dismissively. "They're my friends. Today's not the right time. I'll introduce you another day."

Of course, Richie and his gang couldn't have brought any money to Korea, but since they'd wiped out the Ichijo-gumi's Korean branch and later apprehended Hikita, who was about to flee, the branch's slush fund and the portion of money Hikita had embezzled naturally fell into their hands.

While he didn't know exactly how much, Jack felt relieved to have that as a backup; at least the brothers' trip hadn't been in vain.

Especially Chris, the accountant, who was actually much busier than Jack right now. If this trip yielded nothing, it would be a waste of time.

Jack didn't have many friends capable of handling shady business. The rookie, John, was too honest. Angela and Tim were okay,

but one had married a wealthy second-generation man and was striving to be a good mother, while the other was focused on her career as a superintendent and, I heard, hadn't taken a vacation in ages.

There is definitely no problem with Clay, but it's a pity that he was dragged into the FBI by me. I finally have a few days of peace, so I won't drag him into it unless it's absolutely necessary.

On the other hand, Ma Xidao, a Korean police officer with a very un-Korean personality and unruly manner of conduct, might be able to help in the future. Hopefully, he'll be expelled from the Korean police system soon.

A group of newly arrived police officers entered the restaurant kitchen and gasped in shock at the scene of bodies strewn all over the floor.

"I'll leave this to you! Hurry and get them to the hospital! Any later and someone could die,"

Ma Xidao said nonchalantly. He was about to leave with Jack when, remembering Braxton's warning, he beckoned two officers to open the door to the kitchen's cold storage. Everyone was stunned.

Behind several skewered pork slabs lay piled with bodies frozen like ice sculptures, and to the other side were several blood-stained waterproof bags.

A trembling officer stepped forward to open one of the bags, only to be so frightened that he stumbled back, slipped, and fell flat on his back, screaming as he fled.

Inside the waterproof bag was a pile of dismembered body parts. A hideous head emerged from the opened bag.

"These must be the bodies from the missing Ichijo branch," Jack thought calmly. Neither the perpetrators nor the victims were good people. It was a dog-eat-dog situation.

"Brother Zhou Xingzhe's body has been found. He's at the scene," Ma Xidao declared, hanging up the phone.

By now, daybreak had reached a peak. Jack lazily sat beside the hospital bed, devouring a roujiamo (a steamed bun). The fragrant aroma of meat filled the ward.

The crew-haired young man lying on the bed swallowed his saliva, watching Jack devour his food eagerly but refusing to utter a word.

This guy was probably the only surviving member of the Ichijo branch in Korea. It was he who tipped off Ichijo Yoshio, leading to the arrival of Richie and his gang of brutal killers.

Although his head was wrapped like a dumpling and both arms were in casts, he was the least injured of the yakuza.

Including Richie, there are at least six people still lying in the ICU awaiting observation.

After finishing the last of his roujiamo (a steamed bun) and downing a large cup of soy milk to fill his stomach, Jack patted his stomach with satisfaction, stood up, and walked over to the crew cut's bedside.

"Think again about what else you haven't explained. If you still can't come up with anything useful, I'll suggest that the Korean prosecutors extradite you back to Japan. There are quite a few Yakuza in prison there.

I just don't know what Yoshio Ichijo will think of you. As the only hero extradited back, you should be given a very warm 'reception,' right?"

The crew cut's voice was already tinged with tears as he pleaded, "I've told you everything I know. I was the one who reported the matter of Hikita to headquarters. Richie stabbed him to death at Diaoyutai himself. Zhou Xingzhe's subordinates were killed by Oshima.

And that Korean police officer was done by Zhou Xingzhe's people. I saw it with my own eyes and can testify to that."

"What about the 30 kilograms of 'HYPER' that Hikita hid?" Jack looked at him with a smile.

Although he looked harmless next to the menacing Ma Xidao, the crew-haired man, having experienced the terror of this man firsthand last night, was practically pissing himself.

"I don't know. When I took Richie to find Hikari, he only had a large bag of cash. He really didn't find the goods."

A pattering sound echoed. That was the advantage of having a urinary catheter; if you peed yourself, there was a plastic bag to hold it.
