Hector's voice cut through the line like a blade, cold and commanding.
"I would like to speak to Seraphina. Now."
Adrian didn't even hesitate.
"Talk to you later."
He ended the call before another word could be said, his thumb pressing the screen with more force than necessary.
The silence that followed felt heavier than before, thick, oppressive, and suffocating. But Adrian didn't stay in it. He couldn't. The restlessness burning in his veins demanded movement.
