Morning came quietly, the kind of deceptive calm that often arrived before chaos.
Raya woke up earlier than usual, staring at the ceiling for a long moment before sitting up. The events of the previous night replayed in fragments, Anna's unanswered calls, the uneasy silence, the growing knot of worry in her chest that refused to loosen no matter how many excuses she made for it.
Anna has now disappeared without a word.
She swung her legs off the bed and headed straight to the bathroom. The cold water from the shower did little to calm her thoughts, but she welcomed the sting anyway. At least it kept her grounded. When she stepped out, she dressed without much thought, boyfriend jeans slung low on her hips, a tan top that hugged her frame just enough, and a pair of crisp white canvas shoes. Simple. Comfortable. Not the Seraphina usual dramatic flair, but today wasn't about fashion.
Today was about survival.
