Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

I found myself on my bed when I opened my eyes.

I saw the nurse beside me and Marya as well.

The nurse at my side is shaking her head.

She started, "You need a lot of rest!"

"Your wedding is in a few minutes' time, and you are already this stressed. Marya, please take care of her.

"I will go to your dad; he doesn't know that you passed out."

"His health might deteriorate if he finds out".

"Please, try to take care of yourself. If anything burdens you, you can tell it to your friend.

"Let me go and check on your dad. I don't know if he is awake now."

Marya left me alone in the room.

I couldn't even look at her. I stared at the ceiling.

The next thing I heard was the sound of tears.

Marya stood right there crying.

I was speechless.

Marya is someone who doesn't like to see anyone in pain.

The fact that I wasn't anyone, I was her best friend.

She sat at the edge of my bed and said,

"I was so scared when the nurse called me.

"I almost got hit by a car on my way here".

"I lost it completely. A lot of things were running through my head all at once.

"But, thank God you are okay now".

"I don't want anything bad to ever happen to you. I love you so much."

Immediately, she said she loves me, and my eyes became very teary.

I know she loves me so much and wouldn't allow anything to happen to me.

She has proved this in many ways and not just in words.

It's one thing to say things, and it's another thing to act that way.

Many people say things, but their actions don't match their words a bit.

I held back my tears and spoke up.

"Marya, I love you so much, too. Everything has been so heavy on me.

Since the day the news of the business came up and Daddy's news, I have not gotten myself.

Today, the wedding turned out to be even worse than we anticipated. I didn't even feel this bad on the first day of the news.

So much has happened in one day.

Marya took a deep breath and said;

"I know all that you are going through, and I have tried to encourage you by telling you a few stories.

You shouldn't keep thinking about it. If you continue like that, it will only make things worse.

You will keep bottling it up, and once it becomes too much, that is when it will react in real life, like the way you passed out.

You passed out because things were too much for you.

Your body's coping mechanism was to pass out to relax.

I know it is hard, but you need to let go of these thoughts completely.

Think about me or imagine your dad recovering.

it will help you".

"I received a call from my groom-to-be."

Marya opened her eyes wide in shock. "Wow!" Do you mean it?"

I chipped in, "Yes, I was so surprised. He even asked for a meetup before the wedding. I was more surprised because I also planned on asking Dad for a meetup before the wedding.

Marya hasn't recovered completely from the shock yet; then she added,

"How did he sound?

Did he sound like a terrible person, and what else did he say to you?"

"He didn't say anything else. He only said we should meet up.

Marya made a sigh of relief and held her chin with her hands like someone in charge of a murder case investigation. "If he suggested a meet-up, then that is actually very nice. At least we will be able to gather a little information about who he is, actually."

"Hearing that brought me relief and made me feel reassured. He's not as bad as we thought."

This will not only show you what he looks like and how he thinks, but it's also a chance to learn who he is before the wedding.

I know it isn't possible to figure out who someone is in a day, but this will answer some of your questions.

"But after you know he wants to meet you, you should be a bit calm."

Are you sure he didn't say anything else to you?"

Marya asked with a sense of curiosity.

"He didn't say anything else. I still feel strange. I have mixed emotions. I don't know how to react to our meetup.

I'm a little bit nervous. I know I have always wanted this. "I wanted to see him before the wedding,"

Flora said, running her hands through her hair and scanning the room.

"Marya followed Flora's movement and grabbed her.

"Breathe, Flora, breathe!!!

"If you want to compete in a marathon, you can enroll for one instead of training in a gym.""

Flora snapped in.

"Not funny, Marya!"

"I am in this kind of situation, and you are cracking jokes!!!"

"Marya, I'm being serious!"

Marya approached with her hands on her hips and exclaimed in disbelief, "Oh, no kidding!" Do you remember when I lost my lovely Stanley Cup?""

It was a gift from a friend." I cried into my cup while you occupied yourself with cracking jokes."

Flora laughed out loud and said, "I only did that to make you feel better. It wouldn't have looked nice if we were both moody.

Someone definitely has to cheer the other person.

Marya smiled and added, "That's exactly what I am doing now, dear. Look at how you are smiling. It has been a long time since you looked so happy that it seemed authentic.

Immediately, she said that I came to the realization that I was happy at the moment.

Finally, I was smiling again.

I gave Marya a very big hug.

After a while, Marya left to prepare something for the wedding.

I lay down on the bed as a sign of relief.

It wasn't even 5 minutes that I lay down, and my phone beeped.

I decided to check who messaged me, and I found out it was the same number that called me early, my husband-to-be.

He wrote the exact time and where we were to meet.

He wrote his message in block letters.

I became so scared.

The message looked so strange.

I began to have many thoughts.

"I hope I am safe, and I hope I am not making a mistake by wanting to meet him."
