Meanwhile, the Hero reflects on the slime's strange hesitation in battle—something monsters should not possess. As Sora tries to crawl away, footsteps return, pulling him into danger once more.
Chapter 4: The Return
The Hero reappears, blade drawn, but a pack of wolves interrupts. The Hero cuts them down, only to realize the beasts also target Sora. Forced to act, Sora lashes out clumsily, helping in the fight. The Hero, instead of thanking him, steps in front of Sora to finish the battle—commanding him to stay down.
Chapter 5: Teeth in the Dark
The Hero defeats the wolves with ruthless skill, but Sora once again interferes, striking one to protect himself. Their teamwork saves them both, yet the Hero sees this as proof the slime is dangerous. When the battle ends, suspicion replaces mercy. The Hero lifts their blade toward Sora, intent on finishing what they started.
