Larissa's POV
I savored another taste of wine, the bold flavor lingering on my palate. "This meal is extraordinary. I had no idea Giorgio's would prepare something this elaborate for takeout."
"I mentioned they accommodate special requests for me." Carson's fingers grazed mine as he reached for his glass. "Most places are surprisingly flexible when presented with the proper motivation."
"So that's your strategy for everything? Buy your way through obstacles?"
"Not always. Certain situations demand a more direct touch."
The emphasis he placed on those last words sent electricity racing along my spine. I grabbed the tiramisu container, desperate for something else to focus on.
"Ready for dessert?" I asked, fumbling with the lid.
"Absolutely." His gaze locked onto mine with unmistakable hunger. "I never turn down something sweet."
