Larissa's POV
The darkness wrapped around us like a blanket, but sleep refused to come. Carson's body radiated warmth beside me on the massive bed, and every small movement he made sent ripples through the mattress. I turned restlessly, searching for a comfortable position that didn't make me hyperaware of his presence.
"Having trouble sleeping?" His voice cut through the quiet night.
"Still getting used to everything," I murmured back. "New surroundings and all."
"New husband too," he said, and I could hear the amusement threading through his words.
"Definitely that."
A pause stretched between us before he spoke again. "I could take one of the guest rooms if that would make you more comfortable."
His offer caught me off guard. "No, you don't need to do that. We're both grown-ups. Sharing a bed shouldn't be impossible."
