Chapter 1 –
Serena walked into the school hallway with her head high and her steps sharp. She was just sixteen, but the way she carried herself made people turn their heads. Everyone in Rosewood High already had a name for her—Bosslady.
Serena wasn't the richest in school, or the prettiest, but she was bold, confident, and never afraid to speak her mind. If a teacher asked a difficult question, Serena's hand was the first in the air. Her best friend, Lila, rushed up to her.
"Morning, Bosslady!" Lila said, giggling.
Serena laughed softly. She liked the sound of it. To her, being the Bosslady wasn't just about looking powerful—it meant protecting her friends, proving herself every single day, and never letting anyone see her weak side.

Serena raised an eyebrow. Who does he think he is? she thought. Everyone usually noticed her on the first day. But Adrian didn't even look her way.
During lunch break, Serena saw him again, sitting alone under a tree with a book. Lila whispered, "He's kinda mysterious… don't you think?"
Serena crossed her arms. "Mysterious or not, he should know this is my school. My class. My rules."
She didn't know it yet—but Adrian was not the type to follow anyone's rules. And soon, he was going to test Serena's crown as the Bosslady of Rosewood High...
