Chapter 162 - Chapter 162: The Twin Strikes of Victory

After changing its attack direction, Amphisbæna's left head was unable to stop, leaving it exposed and unstable.

Tione seized the opportunity, gripping her curved blade tightly with one hand and thrusting it straight at the dragon's throat—the most dangerous and fatal point when it was mid-attack.

"Shhk!"

Even with only one hand, the curved blade drove deep into the dragon's neck. In the next instant, the overwhelming heat began to surge toward her.

Instead of recklessly pushing further, Tione released her grip.

"Get in there!"

She raised her knee and slammed it hard against the hilt.

The blade, which had only pierced halfway in, sank completely into the dragon's throat. The twin-headed creature let out a thunderous roar—its blue flames bursting chaotically from the wound, scorching its own flesh.

In that moment, the left head's fire turned against itself. The wound widened rapidly, and the torrent of flames abruptly stopped.

This reckless attack created the perfect opening for Tiona.

Her hands, already burned red, refused to release her great twin blades. She had been waiting for exactly this moment to strike.

"Haah!!!"

Spinning in midair, Tiona swung down with all her strength. The immense power behind her descent combined with her natural might turned her strike into a deadly blow.

Her weapon cleaved straight into the junction between the two dragon heads—a vital weak spot, second only to the throat and eyes.

"Shhk!"

The blades bit deep into the intersection, where no thick scales guarded the flesh. A fountain of blood gushed from the wound.

"Roooar!!!"

The dragon howled in agony, thrashing violently in a desperate attempt to shake them off. But the embedded weapon had sunk too deep—its tightening muscles locked the blades in place, making it impossible to dislodge them through brute force.

Tiona clung tightly to the hilts, her feet braced against the dragon's slippery scales, refusing to be thrown off. Her body trembled from the strain, but her determination burned brighter than ever.

She needed just one more opening.

"Tione!"

"On it!"

Tione dashed across the water, golden flames igniting beneath her feet. The fiery burst propelled her upward, and she kicked hard against the edge of Tiona's embedded weapon.

"Clang!!!"

The impact echoed through the cavern. The force of Tione's kick gave Tiona the leverage she needed.

"Slice!!!"

With a single mighty pull, Tiona dragged the twin blades through the dragon's neck junction, tearing open a massive wound.

Blood sprayed violently as the scales split apart—revealing something glimmering within the creature's chest.

Its magic stone.

A fatal weakness.

Both sisters were in terrible shape—Tiona's hands trembled from the shock, nearly numb, while Tione's foot throbbed painfully from striking the weapon. Had she not wrapped her leg in sacred cloth earlier, that kick would have cut her open.

Even so, neither of them backed down.

They could see the fear flickering in the dragon's golden eyes.

Retreat was not an option.

Their gazes met—and they understood each other instantly.

Tiona released her grip on the blades, leaping high into the air and twisting her body. Her heel came crashing down toward the exposed magic stone.

Tione followed up with a clenched fist, slamming it down with all her remaining strength.

"Clang!!"

The combined impact sent cracks spiderwebbing across the magic stone. The massive dragon froze, its power faltering.

"Boom!!!"

At that moment, the red rings on their left hands ignited. Crimson flames burst to life, wrapping their limbs in a blazing aura of destruction.

"Crack!"

A sharp, crystalline shatter rang out—the sound of the dragon's core breaking.

"Boom!!"

Amphisbæna's massive body turned pale gray, its flesh dissolving into ash. In an instant, the twin-headed dragon was no more.

The explosion sent both sisters flying, but before they could hit the raging waters below, a shimmering water membrane caught them midair.

A translucent barrier surrounded them, pulling them gently into another dimension.

They lay there, staring up at the gray sky of the subspace, when Tsunayoshi's calm voice reached their ears.

"Congratulations. You've successfully defeated Amphisbæna."

He appeared before them like a mission operator delivering a report.

The two sisters wanted to leap up and throw themselves into his arms, but their bodies were too weak to move. They simply stretched out their hands toward him.

"Tsunayoshi, I want a hug."

"Tsunayoshi, give us a victory hug."

Their words overlapped perfectly—their hearts as one.

"Together, then?"

Tsunayoshi sighed helplessly, but nodded.

The sisters exchanged a glance and smiled before nodding in agreement.

He crouched down gently, wrapping both of them into his arms—one in each side—softly patting their heads as he whispered,

"Well done. You've earned this."

The sisters relaxed, resting their heads against his shoulders, basking in the warmth of their victory.

After a long moment, Tsunayoshi summoned the Healing Rabbit—its red-crossed cap making it look like a plush toy.

A soft field of energy surrounded them, bathing the area in gentle light.

Both Tiona and Tione had sustained severe burns—Tione's left arm, Tiona's hands—but the healing magic worked with relentless force.

The burned flesh cracked open as new, smooth skin rapidly grew to replace it.

The process was almost brutal, but the results were flawless.
