Chapter 18 - The Kindness of Grandma

A black Eco car pulled up at the private hospital's driveway. The tall figure, dressed in a crisp white shirt and neatly pressed black trousers, stepped out with long strides, walking around to the passenger side and opening the door.

"Dream, we've arrived. Let's go see your grandmother."

One large hand extended to help the smaller person out of the car, whose appearance was in complete contrast to the car owner. Dream's eyes were half-lidded, hair messy, wearing the simplest outfit she owned: an oversized cartoon T-shirt and pastel-colored three-quarter leggings, slippers still on her feet from home. Despite this, her tall fiancé didn't comment, only smiling warmly throughout.

The smaller figure pushed the large hand away and carefully stepped down. The hospital was crowded, and the scent of antiseptic immediately made Dream grimace. As they walked inside, more people started noticing and whispering about her outfit, making her bow her head lower, wanting to avoid attention.

Manah's large hand slipped in to hold hers gently, sensing her anxiety. He led her steadily forward; the feeling of someone holding her hand was so different from walking alone through the crowd, making Dreame feel a warm, safe comfort.

Creak!

The private room door opened to reveal the familiar figure of a beloved grandmother, accompanied by someone special enough to bring her along.

"Grandma, I brought my love to see you, Dream."

Kind's hand shifted from holding hers to gently wrapping around her waist, bringing her close as he introduced her to the grandmother, who smiled knowingly at the situation.

"Ah… um, h-hello."

The petite figure in a cute cartoon outfit lifted her small hands in greeting, bowing low until her head bumped the bed rail.

Thud! "Ouch!"

Kind suppressed a laugh at Dun Dee's awkward movements, but the elderly woman smiled warmly, appreciating her natural demeanor.

"So cute, such fair skin~"

"Th-thank you, Grandma."

"Haha, why is your speech so timid, Dream? Your sleeves are all wrinkled, like a shy little child~"

Kind tightened his embrace, holding his petite fiancé close. Dream shrank into a tiny figure, no longer bold as she was at home, making her look even more adorable.

"Uh… sorry, I don't seem very grown-up, not like Kind, who has his own company through his own efforts."

Her hand was lightly touched by the wrinkled hand with an IV line.

"Being different is fine. As long as you're comfortable together, that's what matters."

"Um… Grandma, is that okay?"

"I like Dun Dee, just like Kind likes Dream. Don't worry about it."

"I understand now why Manah is like this. He's a very good man, Grandma."

"If he's good and Dun Dee feels special being part of his life, may both of you stay together with love and comfort forever."

"Thank you, Grandma."

On the car

"How was it? Did you feel better being around people?"

Kind drove toward the company, smiling without stopping at how he managed to get his love out of bed. Dream, calm and obedient, was so cute it made him love her even more, never letting go of her soft hand for a moment.

"Yeah, it was fine."

"Shall we get married~?"

"Whoa! You're in a rush, like putting a sale price on a dowry."

"No discount, but I want to marry you."

"Hey… Manah."

"What is it, love?"

"Oh, gosh! Can you stop calling me like that?"

"Why? It's cute~"

"And your hands—stop sniffing them, drive properly."

"Dream, this is an electric car; it can drive itself."

"How would I know? I've never had a car! I just like rolling around on the bed!" Dun Dee pouted and looked out the window, still getting her head kissed, making her heart flutter.

Smack~

"Oh, I like rolling over you on the bed too."

"You little pervert! Stop it! I'm talking about your grandmother!"

"Okay, okay. So, what's new?"

"Your grandmother is so warm. She must be gentle and love you very much. She taught you to grow up as a gentleman, except for the naughty side—that's just your nature."

"Hehe~ My grandmother is wonderful. Believe it or not, she never yelled at me, never used harsh words, never hit me. She taught me to think carefully and grow responsibly. Dream, you must hold on tight to me."

"Or maybe I'm the one holding tight. At least meeting you by chance wasn't so bad. If I had met someone bad, I probably wouldn't have married anyone my whole life."

"Don't worry. We will get married. I won't be single forever; I'm completely head over heels."

"Your taste in lovers is probably flawed. You should check your brain sometimes."

Warmth filled the small car. Getting to know each other little by little, after building a physical bond on their engagement night, everything changed with the other person by their side every day.

The love words from the tall man became a nourishing fertilizer for the previously hardened heart of his small partner, helping her understand life better.

His strong embrace held tight every night, warmer than any blanket. Their intimacy, perfectly in sync from the first time, continued for months and years, always satisfying each other.

Time passed, and life was simple, with someone always by their side, allowing them to confidently say they loved each other and wanted to spend their lives together.
