Before the enhancement, Theron seemed to discover the ideal cuts almost instinctively. His talent guided his movements toward whatever part of the enemy would provide the most effective result, and Theron followed that guidance naturally. Now, however, his heightened perception allowed him to recognize multiple possibilities simultaneously. He could see several potential cuts on the same beast and understand what each one would accomplish.
One attack might kill the creature immediately but damage valuable parts of its body. Another might take slightly longer but preserve more usable material. A third might extract more essence while still killing the target efficiently. Theron was beginning to understand these distinctions in real time, and instead of simply following the first optimal path his talent presented, he was choosing between several possible outcomes.
