My body clock woke me up, and I sat up in bed, glancing at the digital alarm clock on the bedside table.

More than twenty years ago, I was an otaku who loved Gundam, and of course, I was also a shut-in who enjoyed some sci-fi novels. In my leisure time, I spent all my time on these things and never pursued relationships. For me, having Gundam and my favorite sci-fi novels was my entire life.

More than twenty years ago, after I bought my favorite Wing Gundam Zero model and was on my way home to assemble it, a car accident knocked me unconscious.

When I regained consciousness, I was lying in a crib. Where am I? I realized I was in a hospital, and I let out a cry—the wailing cry of a baby. This cry startled the nurses who were handling the instruments, and they quickly rushed out of the room to call a doctor. After examining me, the doctor couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "How strange! A difficult birth baby, who was already pronounced dead, has miraculously come back to life!"

Then I saw a square-faced man, dressed in a suit, with a dignified demeanor, rush in, pick me up, and, with tears streaming down his face, say, "Heaven bless, my son has come back to life."

It hit me then—I had died, and my transmigrated soul had possessed an infant who was already dead. My soul had entered his body and replaced him.

Then, I learned that my identity after transmigration was that of a wealthy child. My mother in this life was an elegant and beautiful woman who held me, and my father, though serious in expression, looked at me with the loving gaze of a benevolent father. Besides me, I also had three older sisters: the eldest sister was Aoi, the second sister was Sumire , and the third sister was Botan .

Then I noticed that the crib I was lying in, as well as the surrounding equipment, were somewhat different from what I knew. At first, I thought it was just because I had been reincarnated into a wealthy family, and the medical equipment was more advanced.

Then, when I was discharged from the hospital, listening to the radio and looking at the scenery outside, I found that the car designs were also different from what I knew, with a touch of science fiction. After hearing the news broadcast by the radio announcer, I finally realized that I had transmigrated to another world.

Born into this wealthy family, my name in this life is Ryuuichi. What surprised me was that all things Gundam were in my brain, and some of the scientific and technological techniques from sci-fi novels also remained in my brain. Moreover, whether it was from Gundam or other sci-fi novels, I had completely mastered the related knowledge, and I could even disassemble and redesign them.

In my third year after birth, which was my third birthday, I finally understood that the world I had transmigrated to was called the Earth Sphere. As I gradually grew up, I realized that the history of this Earth Sphere, where I had transmigrated, was not the same as the history of my previous life. The histories were different, but many things were still somewhat similar, such as the writing and language, which were all the same.

If there was one difference, it was that the Earth in this life was nearly twice the size of the Earth in my previous life.

The technology of the Earth Sphere in this world is far more advanced than in my previous life. Humanity has already ventured into outer space. Not only are there space Colonies similar to the Gundam world, but many countries have also sent their respective space forces to Mars and Jupiter for exploration. This was primarily an extension of each country's power.

Currently, Mars has been successfully terraformed, and some Earth Sphere residents or Colony residents have begun to migrate to Mars.

Moreover, the lifespan of humans in this world is much longer than that of humans on Earth in my previous life. Humans in this life can live to about 200 years old. Although 18 is considered adulthood, middle age is only considered to begin after 100 years old, and old age only begins at 150 years old.

However, this world is not peaceful. As humans gained the ability to colonize outer space and other planets, they gradually became insatiably greedy. Various countries launched wars to strengthen their power. Although this world also has nuclear bombs, for people who can already live in outer space and on other planets, the deterrence of nuclear bombs is no longer as powerful as before. Furthermore, defensive missile system technology has become increasingly advanced. Since the advent of laser defense systems, the deterrent effect of nuclear missiles has diminished. After many small countries also developed this defense system, they are no longer afraid of the nuclear deterrence of major powers, which has led to even more intense wars.

Although there are no large-scale wars happening now, there are still many places experiencing minor skirmishes.

Although war caused suffering for many, for me, born into a wealthy family, such hardship was far away. Before I was 16, I was a carefree young master. Besides studying the technological techniques in my brain, I also studied many of the technological techniques of this world. In both my past and present lives, I have been a shut-in, doing what I love to do.

However, after my 16th birthday, my parents in this life died in an accident while going to outer space to discuss a business deal. My three sisters and I inherited a vast fortune left to us by our parents.

In my previous life, my parents had already divorced, and I never felt parental love. This time, I felt the love my parents in this life gave me. Their deaths made me cry for three days straight. Then I locked myself at home for a period, feeling somewhat dejected. But I also knew that I couldn't remain dejected forever. After a long period of contemplation, I decided to use the knowledge I had gained in this life to make a name for myself.

In the year I graduated from university, at 21 years old, I handed over all the generous assets my parents left me to my three sisters. Taking my money, I then left a note, bidding farewell to my three sisters, and secretly went to outer space alone, determined to start a company and make a name for myself there.

My current location is a Meteorite Zone a long distance from the Earth Sphere. It was originally an abandoned mining factory. Later, I bought this abandoned factory at a low price from the relevant department of the country in its sphere of influence, Iron Ridge, a small independent nation, then renovated it to be used as a factory for manufacturing armaments and as a base for the Mercenaries I founded.

Although this world also has weapons like Mobile Suit Gundam's MS, an MS can also be called a Mobile Armor. Of course, most are simply called MS. However, MS in this world are only just being introduced to the battlefield, and their combat evaluation has not surpassed battleships and fighter jets. Currently, the main military forces in war are primarily battleships and fighter jets.

And my armaments manufacturing factory currently primarily produces fighter jets.

"Beep… beep… beep." The sound emanates from the table.

I glance over, "Connect."

Instantly, a holographic virtual image gets projected onto the tabletop. It's Simmons, the factory director of my manufacturing plant. Middle-aged, work clothes, a bit rough around the edges with his dark skin and stubble.

"Boss, the developed MS has been adjusted. Please come and take a look, Boss."

"I understand. I'll be there in a moment."

I hang up the call and get up, change into something less… lounge-y, and head out of my room. I bump into Hayato Takeshi on the way.

He's my best friend from childhood. We come from totally different worlds. I was born into a merchant family, and he came from a military family.

Despite our backgrounds, we clicked instantly.

Hayato got that military education from day one, but he doesn't have that stiff soldier personality. And he doesn't even like being a soldier. I don't know what's wrong with his head, but he was all about becoming a Mercenary. Three years ago, he straight up retired without telling his family, then ran off to some outer space Colony. When I met him, I had just arrived in outer space myself, wondering where I could open my company. He's the one who found this abandoned mining site. Apparently, he and his unit had secretly infiltrated Iron Ridge territory four years back to take out some space Pirate Group.

And because of him, I started Skywing Armaments Manufacturing Company and the Antares Mercenary Group. I put him in charge of the Mercenary Group at first, but he called up his uncle, Kenji Takeshi – a retired Colonel – and recommended him. He called his uncle because they were super close. Plus, he told me that he was just a Second Lieutenant. He wasn't the right guy to manage an army. His uncle, on the other hand, was a Colonel before retiring. He was way more qualified. So, I handed the whole Mercenary Group over to his uncle, Jiaming, to manage.

"Ryuuichi, you heading to the factory hangar? Let's go. That Mobile Suit of yours is too awesome; I can't wait to take it for a spin."

Hayato throws his arm around my shoulder, all familiar and casual.
