Something moved across her mom's face. Quick, careful, almost nothing.
"Not back yet," she said. "Milan ran long. I'll tell him when he's home."
"Okay," Soorin said, watching her.
"The security," Calista said, moving on smoothly. "Your father arranged during the last Jiwon situation. Do you feel they are still in position out there?"
Soorin paused.
"Honestly, Mom, I stopped thinking about them. The last few weeks were quiet and I just. I started breathing normally again and I forgot they were there."
"That was the whole point," Calista said, something dry underneath the words. "He didn't want you thinking about them. He wanted you to just live your life." She exhaled. "He'll want to add people the second he hears this. You know that."
"I know."
"He'll probably call Manager Park through his assistant before he even calls you."
"Mom." Soorin looked at her face on screen. "Don't tell Haejin."
Calista looked back at her.
