Ruby hurried to class, quickening her pace so she wouldn't be late.
"Ugh, it's only one month into the second year, and I'm already dreading my life, unfinished assignments, and portions; it's crazy. I am driving nuts."
Frustrated, Ruby muttered to herself as she walked.
"Oh, no wasted time talking; I'm going to be screwed if I don't make it in time for my media and communication class. I am done for; Professor Shen will throw me out. Last time someone was late, he made him write a 10-page essay. Nah, I don't want that."
She rushes herself and somehow makes it to class just after the bell rings, but Professor Shen has already arrived.
"Ruby! You're late. You aren't getting any excuses. Now, what punishment shall I offer you?" Professor Shen yelled.
Ruby cries internally, "No way I'm getting punished for running late by 1 minute."
"Aah yes, as a punishment, you have to assist an AD shoot tomorrow. See, I went easy on you; be happy about that. Now, grab a seat and let's get started."
"GREAT It's the weekend tomorrow, and he dares to suggest he took it easy on me. Ruby laments,
"I wanted to have a peaceful sleep on my weekend, and guess what I landed in." Despite being an advertising student, she has no experience assisting for AD shoots.
Ruby reaches home and slouches on her couch and prepares to sleep when her phone buzzes with a fresh message, shattering her pleasant mood. "Ugh, who is it now destroying my peace? Why can't I have a single peaceful moment today?"
She reluctantly takes out her phone to check her messages, only to discover that an unknown number had messaged her. The message reads:
"Hello, Ruby. I'm Jane, and I'm in charge of the photoshoot tomorrow. Professor Shen gave me your phone number to assist me with the shoot. I am relieved to have someone to assist me. I will send you the location of the photoshoot for tomorrow. pleasure to be working with you. See you tomorrow."
"Oh gosh, I hoped Professor Shen would forget about my punishment, but what did I expect? He is notorious for his great memory. Anyway, this doesn't seem so horrible; perhaps I should go and help. I have to text her back; otherwise it is rude."
Ruby texts Jane an appreciative message, "Done. Now I simply need to sleep so I can be ready for whatever happens tomorrow."
Ruby lifts her exhausted, half-sleeping body to her bedroom and goes to sleep.
The next day….
Ruby awoke at 9 a.m. and got ready
"Finally all set now; I just need to go to the location Jane sent me."
Ruby takes a cab and arrives at the location:"Hmm, it's written 'Alley Building, 4th floor,' but I don't see a building named Alley here."
Ruby was focused on finding the building and collided with someone on the road. I'm sorry, I didn't intend to. OH MY GOD, your camera broke. I am so sorry. How can I compensate you?"
"I mean, no, it's fine; you don't need to compensate. It was an accident, no worries."
Diol replies, a young charming face, lost in Ruby's eyes.
He pondered, "It has been years since I have seen those eyes, and still those precious eyes are dashing at me."
Ruby felt bad for her actions while Diol was lost in her eyes. She stated, "I am pretty sure this professional camera cost a lot; please, I should compensate for the repair."
"No, it's not needed anyway. I need to go right now. Have a good day!"
"Huh, what? I broke his camera, and he doesn't care. Wow, but I feel so awful. I need to locate him to compensate him later, but for now, let me rush to my shoot."
Ruby rushes to the fourth level after somehow discovering the alley building.
Ruby finally finds and enters the room.
Ruby seeks assistance for the AD shoot and approaches Renny, the assistant photographer.
"Hi, excuse me, I was told to come here to assist the AD shoot." ruby asks Renny.
"Oh, you must be Ruby." Jane informed me, "She will be here any minute, so please wait."
Ruby thanked Renny and waited for Jane.
Jane arrives and greets Ruby, introducing herself as the person who contacted her.
"Hi Jane, I am sorry for being late for a few minutes; I was busy finding the building."
"No, it's fine; we are just starting. In fact, the photographer hasn't arrived yet," answered Jane.
"Oh, ok. I thought I was late. Well, can I ask what are we doing and how can I help you? Sorry, my professor didn't say anything clearly."
"Oh, don't worry, it's nothing; we have an AD photoshoot for a makeup brand. It's new in the market named Cherry, so we just have to promote it."
"Wow, that's nice!"
"Yeah, this is actually a photography club of our college that started just a few months ago, and this is our first work. Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce our team members: Lily, Eric, myself, Renny, and the photographer."
Before Jane could finish speaking, the door opened, displaying the same face Ruby had seen just a few moments before.
"Hey Diol, you're finally here. Why are you late? We have to start this photoshoot. Oh yes, Ruby, this is our photographer, and Diol, this is Ruby; she's assisting me today."
Ruby in shock thought, "OH GOD, THIS IS THE GUY I CRASHED INTO AND BROKE HIS CAMERA, AND HE'S SOMEHOW THE PHOTOGRAPHER. HOW UNLUCKY AM I TODAY?"
"I was late because SOMEONE broke my camera on my way here, so I had to go back to take my spare one," Diol replied with a sly smirk while Ruby gulped nervously.
"Oh god, this isn't off to a good start; my impression is gone."
