"When I chased you down and brought you home, I made a decision," Lucas said, gaze locked on her. "From that moment, there could only ever be one lady of the Hilton family — and that is you. I hate trouble. But for you? It stopped mattering."
His voice softened, just slightly — a rare confession only she would ever hear.
