Chapter 2 - The Awakening I

A sudden drop of water splashed against her face, pulling her out from unconscious state.

She blinked rapidly, immediately sit up on the ground, disoriented, as she found herself inside a dark cave.

The sounds of echoing water dripped around her, heightening her sense of confusion and fear.

Panicked surged within her as she began to question her surroundings.

"Augh...What happened to me?" She groaned, her hands instinctively raking through her hair in frustration.

"Where is this, huh? A cave?" Her voice echoed off the damp walls, amplifying her confusion. "How did I get here?"

She glanced around, the shadows flickering in the dim light, as if the cave itself was mocking her bewilderment.

Panic tightened her chest, and she took a shaky breath, grappling with the weight of her disorientation.

As she looked around, the cave was vast and empty, the dark cold air envelope her, and she felt a wave of terror wash over her.

It was then she was made aware of her own vulnerability.

Glancing down, realizing she was completely naked, added the unsettling sense of exposure and confusion.

"AH!!" Her voice rose in a sharp gasp. "I'm naked, why am I naked!?"

Desperate to cover herself while gathering her thoughts, a glimmer caught her eyeโ€”a reflection in the still water pooling at her feet.

Leaning closer, she gasped. Staring back at her was a face she barely recognizedโ€”radiant and stunning.

Her bright purple eyes shone with an otherworldly light, captivating yet foreign, while her lush hair framed her features like a halo.

"Am I looking at myself right now?" The words tumbled from her lips, disbelief coloring her voice. "Is this me?"

The weight of forgotten memories pressed down on her, leaving her overwhelmed and dizzy.

"I can't seem to remember anything." She murmured, a wave of frustration washing over her. "And my head hurts just thinking about it."

Just as the confusion threatened to consume her, she felt the system within her stir to life, awakening alongside her fragmented consciousness.

Then a prompt appeared, accompanied by a familiar cold mechanical voice.

๐“Šˆ Salutations my dear Host! ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ I am the system bonded to you. I serve as your spirit guide in this unknown world. ๐“Љ

A spirit? No, It's a system. She thought to herself, while looking at the holographic interface before her eyes.

๐“Šˆ Please verify your system profile. ๐“Љ

What's this? A character profile? She blinked, the pieces starting to fall into place. "Memories are coming back to me, like plugging in a drive."

"I remember most of my world, but not my old life. It's a complete blank slate."

"Does this profile reveal something about my real identity?"

"It feels like a game interface. Am I in a game?" She shook her head, dismissing the thought. "No, that doesn't feel right. If it were a game, I'd have my memories. It's more like I've transmigrated."

"I have no recollection of my old lifeโ€”just a jumbled collection of memories from my world." She pondered, her doubts creeping in about the system's honesty.

Why else would they leave her with no memories of her old life?

A rush of realization swept over her, flooding her senses with curiosity and disbelief.

The concept felt surreal, as if she had stepped into a realm where fiction, fantasy, and reality intertwined seamlessly.

Her mind raced, piecing together the fragmented echoes of her identity while grappling with the weight of her situation.

๐“Šˆ All inquiries cannot yield definitive, unchanging information. ๐“Љ

Huh! Is this thought communication? Startled, she realized the system had heard her and was conversing within her mind. "Quite the convenient system."

She was surprised that communication could happen through her very thoughts.

The sensation was strange, a mix of excitement and unease.

"You're the one that brought me here."The words came out, filled with urgency. "What does this all mean for me?"

"There must be a reason why I'm here!?" The thought rushed forward, a plea for understanding.

An undercurrent of anxiety threaded through her mind as she waited for a response.

She felt like she was standing on the edge of something unknown, unsure of what lay ahead.

The uncertainty was daunting, but a small spark of determination flickered within her.

๐“Šˆ The Host has been brought to this world with a mission, where she must complete before she can return to her own world. ๐“Љ

Auh, What kind of mission? The words tumbled out of her mouth, tinged with growing anxiety.

๐“Šˆ For clarification, the system will explain everything to the Host. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ You are in a realm where spirits among beasts roam. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ These beings, known as Spiritbeasts, are half human and half beast, possessing unique abilities and primal instincts. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ This world is governed by the law of nature, where survival is paramount, and every creature strives for dominance. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ It is a perilous environment for a human like the Host, as most inhabitants lack the knowledge or technology found in your previous world. ๐“Љ

Gush!! The realization hit her like a cold wave.

๐“Šˆ Your mission, Host, is multifaceted: You must seek out your destined mates among the Spiritbeasts. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ Each bond you form will not only deepen your connection to this realm but also unlock your latent powers. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ You are tasked to give birth to a dozen children, each representing a union that will carry forward the strengths of their lineage. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ These children will play a crucial role in shaping the future of this world. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ Furthermore, you are to guide this realm from a primitive state to a modern age. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ This involves cultivating knowledge, fostering community, and establishing systems of governance and technology. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ Your actions will determine the course of history for both the Spiritbeasts and future generations. ๐“Љ

"What?! This can't be real!" Her heart raced, the enormity of the task crashing down on her like a tidal wave.

You can't be serious! The words burst from her, laced with disbelief and a hint of desperation. "This world already sounds terrifically dangerous!"

Her mind whirled at the thought of the unknown lurking in the shadows, every corner of this unfamiliar place holding potential threats.

A shiver ran down her spine, a mix of excitement and dread coursing through her veins. "And now I have to complete this seemingly impossible task?"

How will I even survive this place? The weight of uncertainty pressed heavily on her, but beneath it lay a flicker of determination.

"I should first learn to adapt," she resolved, her voice steadying as she steeled herself against the fear that threatened to engulf her. "Then somehow, I'll survive."

After all, if this world was dangerous, she had to be ready to confront whatever awaited her.

๐“Šˆ Don't get ahead of yourself, you must first escape the cave, before you can even attempt the main mission. ๐“Љ

"Are you kidding me right now?!" She threw her hands up in exasperation. "There's actually a side quest too!?"

๐“Šˆ This is a tutorial quest, not a side quest. ๐“Љ

"I'm beginning to think if this is actually a game or just transmigration," she muttered, her brow furrowing in confusion.

"Even though my old world's technology is far into the future, this still doesn't feel like a game, even if it kind of looks like one."

A sense of unease settled over her as she considered the implications. This system is keeping secrets.

"I don't feel like doing anything at all!" She protested, but her words only made her situation worse, intensifying the pressure around her.

๐“Šˆ Warning: If the Host fails to complete the task, severe penalties will be imposed by the main system. ๐“Љ

"Augh! What do you mean punishment?!" Panic laced her voice, eyes widening in fear.

๐“Šˆ The Host faces imminent peril: a heart attack could lead to a return to her original world, but as a cripple or in a comatose state for the rest of her life. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ The consequences are dire. ๐“Љ

How cruel! Her voice trembled, an unsettling mix of anger and horror swirling within her. "As if it wasn't bad enough that I have to complete this impossible task!"

She clenched her fists, her heart racing. "I'll be punished if I fail too? This is beyond unfair!"

Her mind raced with the weight of her situation, each thought amplifying her frustration. "Why would anyone set me up like this? It's like they want me to suffer!"

The realization of the stakes pressed down on her, igniting a fierce determination. "No! I won't let this system break me. I'll find a way to survive!"

๐“Šˆ The completion of the mission benefits both this world and Host, such punishment is indeed necessary. ๐“Љ

Ouh, faq! She drew in a shaky breath, feeling the crushing weight of her predicament settle over her like a heavy shroud.

"Fine, whatever," she muttered, her resolve hardening. "So, first I have to get out of here, right? I can do that. It seems simple enough."

With newfound determination, she splashed her face in the water pool before her, the coolness shocking her senses and jolting her fully awake to this strange new reality.

As she glanced at her reflection, a wave of vulnerability washed over her.

She noted her nakedness, her long hair the only thing providing minimal coverage.

A bold idea struck her. Why not use my hair to create a makeshift outfit? The thought ignited a spark of creativity within her.

With nimble fingers, she began to braid her hair, weaving the strands together with purpose.

Each twist and turn felt like an act of defiance against her circumstances.

Once finished, she wrapped the braids around her breasts and waist, fashioning a crude yet effective barrier against her exposure.

"There," she said to herself, a sense of empowerment blooming within her. "I may be in this strange world, but I won't let it strip away my dignity."

๐“Šˆ Host, you're quite creative with your methods. ๐“Љ

๐“Šˆ The system will provide you with basic clothing and other essentials once you complete your first main quest. ๐“Љ

"That's good to know," she sighed in relief, glancing down at her makeshift attire. "But my hair will tangle a lot if I keep wearing it like this."

Feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over her, she straightened up, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

The weight of her situation still loomed, but a flicker of hope sparked within her.

With resolve hardening in her chest, she scanned the cave, her mind racing to devise a plan.

The darkness felt oppressive, wrapping around her like a suffocating blanket.

Yet, amidst that shadow, a fire ignited in her heart.

I cannot let fear bind me. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to stand, her legs trembling beneath her as if it were the first time she had ever tried to walk.

The sensation was alien, a strange mix of instinct and hesitation battling within her.

"If walking is already this difficult," she thought, frustration bubbling up, "how am I supposed to survive in this world?"

But as she steadied herself, determination surged through her. I have to at least try.

With each tentative step, she pushed through the uncertainty, knowing that every movement was a step toward reclaiming her strength.

As she stumbled forward, exploring the surroundings, driven by a primal urge to find the way out of the cave.

As she move cautiously, a flicker of light caught her attention in the distance.

Compelling curiosity, she followed it, her heart racing with each step.

Eventually, she imerged into the open air, only to find herself at the edge of a cliff.

She was standing at the small opening of the mountain peak.

Revealing a breathtaking panorama, though the height made her head spin.

Mist swirled around her, the thick clouds obscuring the view below.

And realizing it was far too dangerous to even attempt a descent down the mountains.

It's a dead end. Not giving it a chance, she went to look up, the sight was more unpredictable than the path below.

She was bewildered to see not one but to blazing suns in sky, one larger than the other.

Accompanied by five brilliant stars shining even in day light.

"Where even is this? Where am I exactly?" she asked, her voice trembling with fear.

A familiar cold, mechanical prompt echoed in her mind.

๐“Šˆ Welcome to the Spiritbeasts Realm, Host. ๐“Љ

"So this is it, huh?" she thought, dread pooling in her stomach.

Just as she tried to convince herself it couldn't get any worse, a sudden gust of wind rushed over her, sending an icy shiver down her spine.

She glanced upโ€”and her breath caught in her throat.

A giant hawk soared above, its massive wings stretching wide against the sky.

"What the faq is that? A giant bird?" Panic surged through her veins as she instinctively stepped back into the safety of the cave.

The sheer size of that hawk made her heart race.

Surely, a creature that largeโ€”twice the size of a humanโ€”would view her as nothing more than a snack.

Desperate, she sprinted deeper into the cave, retreating to the familiar watering pool that offered a sliver of comfort.

"Damn, that was close! It's good that I was fast enough to react." Speaking to herself during a hasty situation.

The mist cloaking her from sight before the hawk could even notice her presence.

Seeking refuge in the damp, cool space, she felt slightly more secure, her breath quickening as she pressed herself against the wall.

She sank to the ground, panting heavily against the cold stone.

Before she could even formulate her next move, she realized the need for a plan.

But for now, she was safeโ€”and that was all that mattered.
