Chapter 29 - Chapter 708: Target found

While many details still needed to be filled in, and the kidnapper's identity needed further confirmation, the entire case had been clarified. As Jubal had just stated,

"The suspect is most likely the person who purchased Pedro's kidney for himself or for a family member in need of an organ transplant.

Of course, I'm leaning towards the latter. From eyewitness testimony and surveillance footage, he doesn't look like someone suffering from renal failure."

Indeed, with such desperate need for a kidney transplant, even resorting to illegal transactions, it was practically impossible for dialysis to resolve the issue, so everyone was leaning towards the latter.

That's when the electronic files Aubrey had sent back from the clinic came in handy. Technicians quickly retrieved the medical records and found a record of Pedro, the suspected kidney seller.

Although the records used a pseudonym, the blood sample records couldn't be deceptive, and the matching records were no different. A young boy named Tony Diaz came into the FBI's sights.

Beautiful technician Alice Taylor synced her computer screen to the large monitor. "Tony Diaz, twelve years old, lives in Queens. His father is Octavio Diaz, forty-three, and he's applying for asylum on a temporary visa."

"Go on, we need more specific information on him," Jubal tapped the table, urging the analyst on the other side.

"I checked his application records. They show he was a military officer in the Mexican state of Jalisco. He's university-educated and participated in a series of operations against drug cartels.

He wrote in his application that he and his family would be dead if forcibly sent back to Mexico," someone shouted back.

Jack watched coldly from the side. He didn't know if it was his imagination, but it felt like every time Alice Taylor was around, these nerds were incredibly efficient, their hormones surging.

His team was still in need of a technical support person like Garcia from the BAU. If he couldn't find a familiar face, this beautiful single mother could fill the role.

Alice Taylor might not be as computer-savvy as Garcia, but if she ever faced a real problem, wouldn't she be so popular among the tech-geeky New York office that she'd be willing to help with a simple gesture?

Jack decided to keep an eye on her. Later, he could have Hannah interact with her more often to get a feel for her perspective, perhaps even career plans. After all, most office work was for FBI employees, not agents.

Joining the Most Wanted team, while still likely to involve technical support and office work, would certainly require training at Quantico to become a full-fledged FBI agent, potentially even requiring him to draw his weapon if necessary.

"Is there any way to locate his phone?" Jubal asked loudly.

"No, his phone is off, but his wife's is on, and the location matches their rented address in Queens," someone else replied loudly.

Jack grabbed his coat and said, "Aubrey and I will bring her back. She must know something."

Jubal nodded and said, "Go ahead. Let's continue to find a place for surgery. This illegal and complicated surgery requires a sterile, safe and hidden environment, and a lot of professional equipment.

This is not the first time they have done this. There must be a fixed place."

When Jack heard the word "professional equipment", he paused and thought of how Red had found the suspect's residence through the equipment procurement records in the horrifying case of making scented candles with young women's bodies. Suddenly, an idea flashed in his mind.

"Immediately review the clinic's financial records, including all affiliated companies owned by Lucas Caldwell and Terrence Nelson, as well as their purchases of surgical equipment over the past few years, including facility rentals. Hannah, it's time to put your previous training to use."

"Okay, I'll do it." Hannah immediately found a computer and sat down. Mrs. Diaz

looked like a decent Mexican woman, dressed in cheap, ordinary clothes. She didn't seem surprised by the visit from two FBI agents. Although she tried to act surprised, it was clear that she wasn't very good at acting.

Jack spoke directly and frankly, "We don't have much time, Mrs. Diaz, so why don't you tell us the truth? We know about your son Tony's situation, and your husband Octavio is working with Dr. Lucas Caldwell to illegally give him a kidney transplant.

They are also involved in the kidnapping of an innocent female doctor. We need to find them as soon as possible to provide help, including medical assistance for your son."

Unexpectedly, his words directly broke the woman's defense, and tears immediately welled up in her eyes, "Medical assistance? Now you say you can provide medical assistance?

Do you know how many times we have tried? We have talked to twenty-five organ transplant doctors, begging them to include Tony in the recipient list.

But the answer we get is always the same, because we are not in the insurance system, so they can't do anything."

She tried to wipe her tears with a handkerchief, but she couldn't stop it. The skin on her already red and swollen eye sockets was broken. "We can't delay it any longer. My son is dying. He can't get out of bed to walk or even eat. His weight is only half of what it used to be.

He is only 12 years old "Ah, if he doesn't get a kidney, he won't even see his next birthday."

Aubrey tried to convince her. "But have you considered the risks? Kidney transplant surgery is extremely complex and dangerous, and right now there's only one surgeon and one anesthesiologist, operating under duress.

The right thing to do now is to get your son to the hospital as soon as possible, so the doctors there can continue the operation."

Before he could finish, however, an emotional Mrs. Diaz interrupted him. "I told you, we've tried everything, and it's no use.

We fought tooth and nail to escape Mexico and come to this country. We thought we'd be safe and sound, and we could live together as a family, but to think this would happen!

This is our last hope. As long as our son is safe, we'll do whatever you want. I have nothing more to say."

Faced with a desperate mother, Jack gave up. This wasn't someone he could persuade quickly, so he had no better solution than handcuffing her and taking her back to the police station.

On the way back, just as Subban was driving onto the Queensboro Bridge towards Manhattan, Jack's phone rang. As the call connected, Jubal's excited voice reached the other end.

"We've found out. Hannah discovered that a company under Dr. Lucas Caldwell purchased over $200,000 worth of medical equipment in one go two years ago. The delivery address on the invoice is a warehouse in Brooklyn.

This warehouse is leased long-term by a company called VIP Medical Properties, which is owned by Dr. Terrence Nelson. The SWAT team is on the way, and we'll be leaving shortly."

"OK, remember to have Hannah bring my equipment." Jack hung up the phone and glanced back at Mrs. Diaz in the back seat, noticing that her face had instantly lost all color.

Family, it's the end of the month, please give me some monthly passes, sob sob sob~~~ (The author said this, Im surprised too, Im translating and reading lol)
