"It's easier said than done." I was struggling to get down the rope which was attached to my room window. It wasn't long enough to touch the ground completely.
"Just jump, I'll catch you." My brother whispered loud enough for me to hear from below as he stretched out both hands.
"I don't trust you" I whispered back.
"Trust me, we are running out of time or else we will get caught." My brother blabbered beneath.
"Fine, I'm trusting you for once." Saying that I let go of the rope hoping I won't hit the ground.
"Oh, that didn't hurt"
"Get off me, you silly, you're really heavy."
"That's no way to speak to your sister, also I'm not that heavy."
I scolded him with folded hands. I stood up and brushed the dust off my black cloak but the dress I'm wearing is quite uncomfortable since I borrowed it from Emma, my maid. Dressing up as a commoner was a great idea.
Suddenly we heard footsteps
" It must be the guards, hide"
My brother pulls into the bushes.
One of the guard said "Oh, what a peaceful night, what could possibly go wrong?"
"He just jinxed it" I said a bit too loud.
The second guard asked out loud
"who's that?"
After hearing that, we stood up from the bushes and sprinted to the opposite side off to the riverside. We crossed the river bridge and headed off to the secret passage at the border of the estate palace.
*Meanwhile*
The Duke and the Duchess were standing on the balcony of their room and watches as the kids play hide and seek with the guards.
"So,you're just going to let then leave?" The Duchess asks her husband.
" I have done things far worse than this when I was their age and as a responsible father, I have sent the guards look after them, just in case"
he said with a smile.
"We have raised our children well" the Duchess Regina says with sarcasm.
"We most definitely have" says the Duke matching her Sarcasm.
