177. Oh, Nice to Meet You, Angela
Singularity technology is a core technology recognized by The City's leaders, typically possessing supernatural abilities.
Each World Wing possesses at least one Singularity technology.
These technologies are usually patented. The leaders place extreme importance on patent ownership; anyone daring to violate this taboo will face a "friendly reminder" from their henchmen.
Just recently, a new Singularity technology was born. It's called—the Magic Scroll.
"This thing…is somewhat different from the magic we know." A voice rang out in a secret room.
"Indeed." Someone agreed.
"But it doesn't violate any existing taboos." Another voice judged.
"Then…we don't need to pay attention."
As long as their taboos aren't violated, The City's administrators—the leaders—won't concern themselves with anything outside the rules.
-----
"…That's outrageous."
Standing on the ground soaked in thick blood, Isadora, the Second Association's cleanup leader, frowned deeply.
"Who says otherwise?"
Her companion from the Second Association pinched her nose, her voice muffled as she echoed, "What kind of ruthless character did they mess with?"
The scene was horrific. Judging from the environment, these victims, without exception, were almost completely defenseless, instantly crushed to death by some force.
"Could it be one of the World Wings?" Someone in the group whispered, speculating.
"Alright!"
Walter, the head of the Sixth Section of the Second Association, interrupted impatiently, his brow furrowed.
"Stop speculating! Finish what you're doing and get out of here! Do you want to stay in this hellhole until dawn?"
Although according to the intelligence they got indicated that the girl who slashed the middle finger didn't seem to have targeted anyone else, entrusting one's life to someone else was incredibly foolish. And these guys actually had the leisure to discuss this.
The group exchanged glances, shrugged, and finally began to focus on searching for any clues left at the scene.
Meanwhile, the other parts of the Five Fingers—thumb, index finger, ring finger, and little finger—reacted differently upon learning that the middle finger had been nearly uprooted.
Some were indifferent, their hearts already numb.
Some were nonchalant, believing that even destruction was simply their inevitable end.
Some even secretly anticipated death, seeing it as a sacrifice for their art.
Others quietly disappeared into the deeper shadows, their plans unknown to anyone.
And those world-weary forces that shrouded the urban nests cared little for the survival of a violent organization hidden deep in the alleys.
Urban Star, even with its resounding fame, how many would truly remember it when it fell?
No one knew.
However, an event that would truly capture everyone's attention was brewing.
The L Nest was about to welcome its new ruler.

"Come, accept this honor that belongs to you!" The Tarnished stood on a stool, his voice booming, holding a certificate gleaming with the logo of Company A.
Kevin and Xiling stood on either side, their faces showing near-devout expressions.
Houraiji Kyuushou: "..."
She suddenly felt that these guys' level of chuunibyou (adolescent delusions of grandeur) was perhaps even more exaggerated than her own?
"Why is the Chairman stopping?" Xiling asked, maintaining his devout confusion.
"Can you guys...be normal for once? I'm a little scared." Kyuushou subconsciously took a step back.
"Scared?" The Tarnished looked puzzled.
"Isn't this exactly what you wanted?"
Kevin also cast a questioning glance: "Could it be that the stimulation was too much... and your chuunibyou (middle school syndrome) has been cured?"
"No way?!" Xiling instantly teleported in front of Kyuushou, grabbing her shoulders tightly and shaking her violently.
"That won't do! You can't be okay! Change back!"
However, the shaking didn't last long before Lemuen reached out and grabbed his ear.
"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Let go! It hurts!" Xiling immediately winced in pain, jumping up and down as Lemuen dragged him.
Kiana, seeing Xiling's disheveled state, laughed heartily:
"Serves you right!"
Seeing this, everyone stopped joking. The Tarnished jumped off the stool and solemnly handed the Company A certification to Kyuushou.
"Alright, enough joking. Take it, we have too many things to do."
Kyuushou took the certification and nodded seriously.
"Now that we've got the certification, it's time to take over our territory," Xiling said, rubbing his reddened ears. Everyone nodded in agreement.
World Wings. The City consists of 25 "nests," each ruled by a World Wing.
Although the city should have 26 nests, the last one has never been seen. The number of World Wings is constant. When a "wing" is broken, its nest is reduced to ruins until a new wing is born to replace the fallen one.
And now, in The City, one wing has been completely broken—L Nest, Lobotomy Corporation.

"Preparations are basically complete… Perhaps it's time to start sending out invitations." Deep within a vast library, a girl with long, light blue hair rested her chin on her hand, murmuring softly.
After a long period of preparation, she was finally about to take the first step.
"Let's check… the invitations first." She stood up.
This would be the library's first official interaction with the outside world, and the girl couldn't help but sigh softly; she had absolutely no experience in receiving visitors.
"Hopefully, I can glean some valuable information from future visitors..."
At least, it would prevent her from being completely ignorant of the outside world.
Just as she was about to take action, the girl suddenly turned her head, as if sensing something amiss!
"Why—is someone here?!"
This was her library, and she hadn't sent out an invitation yet! Where did this visitor come from? She had clearly taken many precautions to prevent uninvited guests!
Using the library's power, she traversed space and appeared at the location where she sensed the intruder.
"Thank you a lot, Kiana." Xiling smiled as he emerged from the spatial rift opened by the Herrscher of the Void.
"No problem! Wow, this place... There are so many books!" Kiana gazed at the vast sea of books within the library, expressing genuine amazement.
Placidusax also looked around with great interest at the mountains of books piled up around them.
Just then, almost simultaneously, the three noticed something, their gazes locking onto a single direction.
Where they were looking, the figure of the light blue-haired girl appeared out of thin air.
Seeing these three uninvited visitors, the girl's face instantly darkened. She was about to question them and try to subdue the intruders—
But the only male among the three casually greeted her:
"Yo, nice to meet you, Angela."
