Chapter 10 - The Hero's Stance

With Xiling's appearance, the rooftop fell silent.

Fiammetta ceased her attacks, and Andoain stopped whispering.

"You're here!" Andoain looked at Xiling.

"Yes, I am. We might not know each other, but from your tone, you sounded as if you knew I was coming." Xiling strolled towards Andoain.

"Lemuen said there was someone who would execute her wrath. I met you once before, and so... I thought of you."

"Director Lemuen, you're not only a philosopher, you're also a genius!"

"Hey! Xiling, what on earth are you doing here? Are you just playing house and chatting?" Fiammetta demanded Xiling loudly.

"Oh, don't be angry, don't be angry. Didn't Director Lemuen tell you that?" Xiling walked to the front, only five meters away from Andoain.

The holy sword slowly unsheathed, Xiling pointed it at Andoain. "Have you thought it through? It's up to you to choose the path you will take, the path you will follow."

"I understand."

"Very good, very good." As Xiling finished speaking, a powerful aura suddenly emanated from him, even causing Mostima and Fiammetta, standing behind him, to step back a few steps. Only Andoain remained motionless.

"I know about the path you are pursuing...it's great. I might even be able to help you if necessary."

Andoain: "..."

"But let's be clear. My friend has suffered irreparable harm because of you, and you must pay for it."

"As I should, but I won't surrender."

"Very good. I've been patient, waiting for the moment for your true enlightenment."

"...Sorry to have kept you waiting."

With a loud rumble, the entire roof began to shake, clearly on the verge of collapse.

"Oh no! The supporting pillars here have collapsed. Fiammetta, Xiling, let's go!" Mostima shouted to the two. Feeling the jolt beneath his feet, Xiling moved, and Andoain followed suit, as if they had reached some kind of consensus.

White light surged from Andoain's fingers, a dazzling white light that seemed to envelop Xiling, tinting him in white.

"Let me show you the moment, the true form of a hero!"

An even more dazzling white light burst forth from Xiling's body, from within the holy sword. At that moment, the holy sword and the hero seemed to be connected.

This was a technique Xiling had mastered from numerous battles with the skeleton soldier, allowing him to concentrate completely, undistracted by other things, and focus on one thing.

Faced with Andoain's Originium technique, Xiling's thoughts vanished, leaving only one thought: he could cut it off!

The holy sword swung, and everything in its path was cleaved.

Andoain's Originium technique was slashed, and Xiling had already arrived in front of him. At that moment, time seemed to stand still. Mostima was horrified. Fiammetta stretched out her hand as if to shout something. Lemuen watched from afar, and Oren blew up the supporting pillar. Under the gaze of these people, the holy sword was raised high.

"The right and wrong of the past are unimportant to me. This sword represents my wrath!"

"...Is this my end?" Looking at the raised holy sword, Andoain's eyes were free of joy or sorrow, fear or fear.

Without any surprise, the holy sword struck Andoain's neck. However, it didn't sever Andoain's neck. Instead, it struck him back like a baseball.

Anton opened his eyes after being sent flying. He felt no pain in his neck, only a powerful force pushing him back.

Andoain looked at Xiling, who was standing on the roof.

"...Why?"

As if sensing Andoain's puzzled look, Xiling raised the holy sword. "This sword can't harm kind people. You're truly outrageous, not taking a single scratch."

"Never mind. Anyway, I told you that the strike ended our feud. I have no business dealing with anything else."

Although the holy sword couldn't inflict damage, the immense force left a deep scratch on Andoain. Bloodied, he stood up, took one last look at Xiling in the cathedral, and turned away.

"You let him escape!"

Xiling glanced back at Fiammetta and the others who had rushed over, without answering or hesitation.

The chat group time travel system is activated!

In a flash of white light, Xiling vanished from sight.

...

"Although I anticipated this, I have a request. Consider it my reward for doing you a favor. Could you please demonstrate how you flew onto the building's sign again?" Xiling examined Lemuen and the wheelchair she sat in with curiosity.

"There's always a way, right? Also, could you please help me quickly? The girl has been urging me downstairs."

"Okay, okay, but I have to take a picture first."

Looking at the flashes hitting her face, Lemiaoan smiled gently.

Click, the sound of a bullet being loaded.

"I'll help you now!"

...

The door to the ward opened again, and Fiammetta stormed in, followed by Mostima.

"Lemuen, your friend is a complete hindrance."

"Well, what do you mean?"

"Andoain escaped. He was struck back by that guy's so-called sword that doesn't kill the kind, and then he ran away."

"Seriously, does such a sword really exist? Or did he hold back?" Mostima stroked her chin.

"A weapon is a weapon. How could something like that exist? That guy must have used some Originium technique to let Andoain escape." Fiammetta doubted anyone in the world could forge such a weapon. Fiammetta plopped down on the bed and was about to say something when she noticed something strange.

"Hot."

Fiammetta was lost in confusion. She began to think, then understood everything. Then, she crouched down under the bed, staring into someone's eyes.

Xiling:...

Fiammetta:...

"Hi, good afternoon." After a long silence, Xiling, being discovered, waved awkwardly.

"How dare you show up in front of me?" Fiammetta grabbed Xiling and pulled him out.

"Lemuen, help!"

After a burst of noise, the ward fell silent.

After a long pause, the silence was broken by Xiling's words.

"Why do I have to stay?"

"Because I haven't treated you to cake yet," Lemuen said with a smile.

Xiling's gaze drifted towards Fiammetta. "But I feel like I'm about to be shot before I even eat my cake."

"So it was your choice for Lemuen to let Andoain escape?" Fiammetta looked at Lemuen.

"Actually, I don't think you could have kept him under those circumstances," Xiling warned quietly.

Fiammetta immediately glared at him.

However, Xiling was right. Even though she was furious at the time, she knew she couldn't keep Andoain.

"Well, he's already gone. There's no point in talking about this now, is there?" Mostima tried to smooth things over.

"Well, you're right," Fiammetta sighed. At this moment, Mostima turned to look at Xiling and his sword. "By the way, is your sword really the same as you said?"

"Well, do you want to try it?"

"Yes, please do it gently."

"Does this work?"

"No feeling at all. Try a little harder."

"This way?"

"Still no feeling."

"Then how about this?"

"It hurts a little."

"I didn't expect you, Mostima, to be such a kind person."

"That's..."

Fiammetta: "Hey, that's enough, you two, stop playing around. It looks terrifying."
