Chapter 35 - After the Light

The battlefield was silent.

Where once the banners of the Empire had flown, only ashes and fractured armor remained.

The smell of scorched steel hung heavy in the air.

Smoke rose from the crater left behind by Project Judgment — the weapon of creation's wrath.

The war… was over.

Itsuki stood at the center of it all, his coat fluttering softly in the morning breeze.

The once brilliant glow of the Genesis Unit had faded, now half-buried in the dirt — a silent giant that had protected its people.

His eyes were tired. Not from the battle… but from the weight of what he had done.

"Thousands," he murmured, looking over the ruined land. "All gone in a flash…"

Behind him, Lyra approached, her bow strapped across her back, her hair stained with soot and dust.

She said nothing at first — only placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You saved everyone here," she whispered. "If you hadn't done this, the Empire would've wiped us out. Don't bear their sins alone."

Itsuki didn't look back.

"Saving some… by destroying others… doesn't feel like victory."

Lyra's hand trembled. "…Then let us make this mean something."

He finally turned, meeting her gaze — and for a moment, her calm strength steadied him.

The Return to Everwood

When they returned to Everwood, the entire city gathered at the gates.

The air was heavy with tension, awe, and relief.

The once-terrified villagers now looked at Their Creator — their King — with something more than gratitude.

It was reverence… mixed with fear.

Selena stepped forward first, her merchant's robe scorched but her spirit unbroken.

"You did it, Itsuki. The Empire's army is gone. No one will dare touch Everwood now."

Behind her, Elara added softly,

"But… maybe that's the problem. No one will dare — not out of respect, but out of terror."

The words hung like smoke.

Itsuki nodded slowly. "I know. We'll need to rebuild trust… rebuild balance."

From above, the dragon prince — now humbled and bandaged — watched in silence beside his father, the Dragon King.

Even he, once arrogant, could only mutter under his breath, "So this is the power of creation…"

The Dragon King placed a massive hand on his son's shoulder.

"Now you see why restraint is the mark of true strength."

Itsuki heard him and closed his eyes, silently grateful for the words.

A Council of Kings

Two days later, the leaders of all nations gathered in Everwood's grand hall — the same one built to celebrate peace now scarred by war's shadow.

The Beastkin King, the High Elf Queen, the Dwarven King, and even the Dragon King stood around a vast circular table, Itsuki at its head.

No one spoke for a long time.

Finally, the High Elf Queen broke the silence.

"The Empire… was once the mightiest force in this continent. You erased it in a single day."

Her golden eyes studied Itsuki carefully.

"Tell us, Creator of Everwood — what will you do now?"

Itsuki rested his hand on the table, the Codex flickering faintly beside him.

"I will not conquer. Nor rule. My only goal is peace… real peace.

But peace built on fear will not last — so I'll make sure everyone stands as equals."

The Dwarven King stroked his beard, grinning.

"Ha! Spoken like a true leader. You've got my respect, boy — and my loyalty."

The Beastkin King nodded firmly.

"As long as you hold no chains over others, my kin will stand with you."

The Dragon King's deep voice rumbled through the hall.

"Your strength has shaken even the heavens, human… but your heart is what decides the world's fate. Do not lose it."

Itsuki smiled faintly. "I don't intend to."

For the first time in centuries, all races sat together — not as rivals, but as allies.

The Shadow Beyond the Stars

That night, Itsuki stood on the balcony overlooking Everwood.

The stars shimmered across the clear sky, their light reflecting in his eyes.

Lyra joined him quietly, her silver bow strapped across her back.

"It's over now," she said softly.

Itsuki's gaze didn't waver. "No… it's just beginning."

She frowned. "What do you mean?"

He looked up at the stars again, his Codex flickering with faint energy.

"When I used the Judgment Core… something responded. Something vast. Like the world itself shuddered."

Lyra's eyes widened. "You mean—?"

He nodded slowly.

"There's something out there. Something ancient… and it's waking up."

A cold wind swept across the balcony.

The stars above shimmered strangely — one of them glowing brighter, pulsing like a heartbeat.

Itsuki clenched his fist.

"The Empire was never the real threat. They were only the beginning."

End of Season 3

Everwood stood victorious, united under Itsuki's banner — a beacon of progress, hope, and hidden fear.

But far beyond the stars, in a forgotten realm of darkness, a voice whispered through the void:

"So… the child of creation has awakened his spark.

Then the seal will not hold much longer…"

A single eye opened in the darkness — vast, ancient, and filled with hunger.

The age of nations had ended.

The age of gods was about to begin.
