Chapter 5 - dancing under the water

Weight was a very important factor in boxing for a single reason… If someone bigger than you by, let's say, forty or fifty kilograms hit you? You are dead.

No matter how skilled you believe you are, one good strike and you will be screaming for a timeout.

That was the reason weight classes were made in the first place.

Of course, it didn't mean that it was hopeless. Fighting a bigger target is very disadvantageous, but at least you should be faster, more agile.

Which is why Alexander would advise anyone in that situation to simply run and never look behind. It was the best shot.

If you can't run because you are in a ring? Then you deserve to deal with the consequences for having the idea of entering the ring with a person double your weight.

Alexander didn't have to worry about such things because, as a six-seven with the dad build, he was always the bigger one.

But if you can't run? Then become a monkey. Whatever you do is fine as long as you don't get caught.

So, when the kaiju exploded forward, Alexander had one plan in mind… Do not get hit.

Or that was the plan.

The ocean screamed.

As the water displaced in a violent shockwave, the creature closed the distance in seconds, its massive tail snapping behind it like a living engine. Alexander, on pure mechanical processing, lifted his left leg as he moved his body to the right side.

As the kaiju passed like a freight train, Alex's short-term victory was cut short since he was reminded very harshly that he was not fighting a man in a ring.

And that reminder was in the form of a huge tail that whipped at him with terrifying force.

The impact felt like a cannon blasted him.

Gipsy Danger's metallic form was ripped off its feet and hurled backward through the water, carving a trench through the seabed as its back hit the ocean floor. Rock shattered, and sand exploded upward, covering the battlefield all the while his systems screamed warnings all at once.

'So he is bigger than me, heavier than me, and faster than me…'

'How is this fair again?… Right, it wasn't.'

He stood up again. His chassis was dented, but he didn't allow himself to be distracted. After all, he can't run, so all he can do is slam his head in a wall and do it!

The kaiju stopped a distance away, glaring at Gipsy Danger, and the next second, the kaiju's throat started lighting slowly with a green light. It started from the lower part of its throat as it rose slowly while the light increased in intensity.

'Wait, is that?…'

Alexander didn't hesitate a second later as his metallic form jumped to the side, just as a pillar of green energy tore through the water, blasting the place that he was in.

Gipsy Danger quickly stood on the ground, raised his hands as they transformed into plasmacasters, and blasted the kaiju in its chest, causing it to cut its gamma breath attack.

'Hey, this kaiju would not happen to know a certain grumpy lizard from the monsterverse, right?'

Gipsy Danger's form stood up as the kaiju charged again. This time, instead of dodging, Alexander decided to risk it.

His plasmacasters were changed back to swords as he positioned his hands carefully, and the next instance, the kaiju slammed into Gipsy Danger, slamming it into the ocean floor but also impaling itself as the swords pierced through its chest.

The kaiju roared as green blood flowed, contaminating the waters while it used its hands to crush the smaller form of Gipsy Danger.

Alexander, feeling his metal form dent slowly under the force, didn't panic as he focused on moving his hands, trying to carve the kaiju's chest open.

Alexander realized that he won't win in a straightforward manner, so this was his workaround: to trade damage and hope that the kaiju dies before Gipsy Danger's form gave up first.

The kaiju, roaring in pain and anger, increased in size as its body turned a deeper color of green, transforming and increasing its already gigantic form.

The kaiju's maw opened as he launched at Gipsy Danger's left shoulder, trying to tear it apart.

At the same time, the powerful chest-mounted nuclear vortex turbine started rotating faster and faster before a beam of fire erupted from Gipsy Danger's chest, slamming into the kaiju atop him.

All the while, his left hand kept tearing the insides of the kaiju while his right hand, transformed into a plasmacaster, was placed on the side of the kaiju's chest and started shooting plasma nonstop into the kaiju.

The kaiju, feeling its insides get torn and burned at the same time, pulled back as Gipsy Danger's left hand was torn off under the force of the kaiju that was powered up by gamma.

The kaiju's form grew larger as its anger kept rising, while its green eyes stayed focused on Gipsy Danger's downed form as it rose slowly.

Alexander would admit that he was running out of ideas. His chassis was dented inward to a terrifying degree, while his left hand was simply torn off.

Although, the kaiju did pay a heavy price as well, with the middle of its chest having a literal hole formed from burned flesh, and a huge part of its chest was blasted off.

The two sword gashes were already healing up at a terrifying speed that made Alexander jealous, although the other two wounds from the plasmacaster and his nuclear engine seemed to be more permanent.

The kaiju then, to the surprise of Alexander, turned to the coast and swam towards the ships…

As Alexander glanced at the radar, making sure that the kaiju actually left, he would have breathed a sigh of relief if he could, as he calmed his human thoughts.

Although he didn't experience fear as much as before, he wasn't suicidal, and he well knew a hopeless situation when it slammed him in the face.

And that was not winnable…

'Energy breath and getting bigger and stronger… Since when do the kaiju have their own Hulk?'

That transformation was just too similar to the Hulk; the kaiju got angry, and then it became bigger.

'That energy, it was gamma…'

'Those ships carried gamma. They brought that thing here for us to fight.'

The small compartment in his chassis opened as the ten Evas floated outside. While the Eva bots started panicking while surrounding the huge form of Gipsy Danger, Alexander's gaze turned to the direction of the coast.

'That kaiju is going to slaughter its way to the gamma… Should I help?'

The thought took root for a few seconds before he dismissed it… because it wasn't realistic. He simply cannot win against a kaiju boosted by gamma.

If he followed, he would perish. That was the cold conclusion his mechanical part gave him…

Of course, he could go nuclear and blow up to try to kill it, but then he would die, and the kaiju may survive due to the gamma…

It simply was not a logical choice… And the humans brought this thing here by themselves and almost got him killed in the process, so why should he care about their fate?

Alexander walked his metallic form, ignoring the countless warnings about damage from his mechanical mind, as he used his right hand to pick his other limb from the ground.

He brought his left limb to what his mechanical side told him it should be, and waited.

The Eva bots that were focused on his chassis stopped for a second as they glanced at his torn limb, while their faces showed a loading sign before they floated to it and started trying to connect it.

They started eating what was insalvageable and connecting what was functional.

Alexander glanced at them working while his mind calculated how much time they would need to fix his arm… A whole week.

Just to reconnect it and make it slightly functional again would take a whole week.

Because even ten very energetic robots aren't enough to fix everything like magic.

Alexander didn't even want to imagine how long it would take for them to build him a new one if the kaiju had stolen or crushed it completely.

For a complete repair, it would take much longer, and his right hand would have to keep holding it in place for at least a few days before he was able to do anything else…

So, he technically was handless, and that's not counting his chassis that, according to him, lowered his functional capacity by about 34 percent… Joy.

Alexander was no hero; he didn't feel like dying without reason. The only reason he hunted the kaijus was that he expected the system to give him points for it.

And because he didn't have anything else to do, and he didn't expect that living in a conquered earth is fun, since theoretically, the kaijus would come for him eventually.

But he was not about to keep going forward killing kaijus just because he wanted points or because some card said he was a hunter…

He was the owner of the system, not the other way around. He was not about to be a slave for points.

His choices would happen because it was his choices, not because he was running after some points for upgrades.

And besides, the humans didn't help him, why should he help? Because it was the right thing to do?…

Yeah, good luck to everyone with that ideal, but he would have none of it!

If the kaiju was small, if his robotic side told him he might have a chance at winning, he would have considered it…

But dying to buy humans time to escape?… Does he seem like a man with fairy tales in his head?.. Let whatever wants that spot have it.

Humans have the ability to become great heroes or the worst of nightmares…

But most of the time? People just want to live to see another day and maybe help around when it is within their capabilities to help without ruining their own lives.

And Alexander was in the last group, he always was…. He was not a knight in shining armor, he was not a villain dreaming of world conquest.

He was just Alexander, a man who wanted to live and do things or fight because he wanted to do it.

He wasn't about to massacre people for his goals or convenience—those were the thoughts of mentally ill individuals or Chinese main characters in fiction—but he was not about to die for them as well.

And no system, no points, and no powers would force him to change his mind like a slave that risks everything for a reward from the system…

If the system was somehow alive and didn't like his thoughts, then let it find another host.

So, the slaughter that was going to happen was just statistics for him, like how most humans watch the news and feel sorry for the fate of other people.

He felt sorry for them, and he hoped that some broken characters like the Sorcerer Supreme would interfere and save them, but that was about it.

Alexander gave a silent prayer for the humans on the coasts as his metallic form turned and started walking away to one of his metal stashes.

As his metallic form slowly disappeared into the darkness of the depths:

'They brought that thing here, so let them deal with it themselves…. But for whatever it is worth… I am sorry.'

(A/N): One of the many reasons I have not updated this story is that everything I wrote felt lacking like I didn't give the story its due…And the system increased the possibilities and the monstervese doubled those possibilities until I lost complete memory of where I wanted the story to go everything I wrote felt like it was insulting and insufficient to anyone who will read it…I don't know why it just happened but I decided enough was enough and started writing I really don't know if this is good or not …But I decided to roll it! If I keep deleting any chapter I write this story would die…I am growing as an author which became apparently an issue because just today I deleted 2 CHAPTERS from my notebooks because I found it bad…it is an issue I am facing on all my works but this one took the cake that the story almost killed itself and I am still not really sure how to proceed but I decided just to push…

I am sorry for the late update I swear it was from a good intention of actually writing something good …

And don't forget to check on my other works I promise that each of them is unique.
