BOOM BOOM
Dodging the two legs coming towards him, Dash continued to race around the robot.
His father keep throwing any objects he could find. Logs, rocks, debris from the heli-craft, and even mud all in an attempt to led the robot back into the jungle.
Meanwhile Elastigirl and Violet had left to confront the remaining guards, to ensure they couldn't attack from behind.
"Dad! if you have a plan now is the time to do it!"
"Just keep running! I'll think of something!"
Problem was Mr. Incredible couldn't get any closer or else the robot would focus on him. And while he was getting back into shape, he wasn't fast enough to dodge the arms.
This combine with his son not having the strength needed to damage it, had them at a standstill.
His current plan was to wait for his wife and daughter to return and attack all together, but he was concern that his son couldn't stand the pressure. He and Helen had always limited the amount of time the kids could use their powers, thus Dash might not last much longer.
Dash was also aware of this issue, but he keep on running. Hoping that the more time he spent distracting the robot meant more time for his family to come up with a plan.
BOOM
PEWW
Suddenly a shot rings out followed by a hit just left of the robot head, which ricochets into the jungle.
Two more shots follow, the robot raised an arm to block the shots, but one still manages to hit the head cracking the sensor's glass.
In response the robot began to pick up debris from the ground and launch it into the air. Taking advantage of the situation Dash brakes away and stops next to his father.
"Dad what was that!?!"
"Backup son... Alright new plan go help your mother and sister clear out the guards and then come back with them."
"Got it!"
While Dash runs off, Mr. Incredible turns back to the robot. The firing had stopped, but the robot was still fully focused on the threat in the sky.
"Ok here we go!"
Carmen POV
After the announcement of the security message, the guards were in a rush. They didn't have time to question the missing sniper rifle and ammo. And not just any sniper rifle, but an Accuracy International AX50. A powerful, .50 BMG caliber, bolt-action anti-materiel rifle.
A high-powered rifle designed to destroy or disable enemy equipment, such as vehicles, aircraft, and structures.
Why would I grab such a rifle?
Better safe than sorry. Also I don't have my own weapon and finding such high level equipment isn't easy.
Getting back outside I find the striker unit, I hide in the jungle, and equip it.
Channeling magic throughout my body I launch into the air towards the sound of fighting. Above I can see the robot attempting to hit a blur, while Mr. Incredible is doing everything he can to draw its attention.
I level the rifle, disengage the safety, chamber a round, and aim for the head of the robot.
BOOM
The shot goes left missing the head and bouncing off the body. I adjust and fire two more times. In response the robot raises an arm to block, but one still gets through cracking the sensor glass. Now I have its full attention.
As I dodge the debris thrown at me, I notice the blur stop near Mr. Incredible revealing a small boy, who then runs into the forest. Meanwhile Mr. Incredible runs to the robot, grabs one of the legs, and pulls. Forcing the robot off balance and taking its attention away from me.
I fire again, but the robot turned its head around causing the bullet to ricochet. As it tries to shake Mr. Incredible off I fly to the other side to fire again, but again it turns the head around.
As I continue to fly around trying to get a shot on the sensor, it continues to turn its head around. Then the head drops into the robot and a new one comes out the bottom.
It stares at Mr. Incredible.
"Uh oh"
The robot launches him towards me. I grab him with the zero energy ray to stop his momentum and catch him when it shuts off.
"Hello again Mr. Incredible. Who was the blur and where is Elastigirl?"
"My son, Dash, and she is in the jungle with my daughter, Violet, taking care of the guards. We need to keep stalling till they finish"
"That might be a problem" As I point towards the robot, which had retracted its legs and began to roll into the jungle.
"After it!"
Flying after the rolling robot we watch as it smashes every tree in its path. We begin to hear the sounds of gunfire and shouting, before the robot crashed into a small clearing.
There I could see the blur once more running around several guards, while Elastigirl engages them and another girl protects her with a purple shield. They were surprised when the robot rolled in.
"Throw me at it!"
"What?"
"Now!"
I race toward the robot, to build momentum, before letting Mr. Incredible go and climb back into the air.
He slams his shoulder into the robot, producing a dent in the body, before falling to the ground where Elastigirl catches him. The robot tries to crush them with an arm, but is blocked by a purple shield.
While it was distracted I fire once more. Penetrating the sensor's glass, destroying the sensor within the head. The head on top retracts while the bottom head popped out.
With no possible angle I decide to land and reload the rifle.
The Incredible family continues to engage the robot, but are unable to cause any significant damage.
"Mr. Incredible on my signal take the head out!"
I lay prone and fire three rounds at the robot. Which all ricochet off, but the firing pulls the robot's attention to me. It moves towards me as I fire again.
"Now!"
I fire for a fifth time just as Elastigirl launches Mr. Incredible at the head, forcing it loose.
"Violet! Dash! Now!" Elastigirl shouts
To the right a circular barrier had been spinning in a circle, with Violet and Dash inside. Once the signal is given they race forward, colliding with the loosen head and tearing it clean off.
Violet immediately drops the shield allowing Dash to race into the exposed opening, who then races out with various electrical components in his hands.
The robot stops dead and begins to twitch and sway. I zap a nearby boulder and release it at the robot. On impact the robot is thrown off balance and crashes into the ground still twitching.
"Its only damaged... it'll take more to completely destroy it, but it no longer has the capability of chasing after us." Said Mr. Incredible before turning back to me.
"Thank you for the help Carmen. I want to introduce you to my son and daughter."
"Nice to meet you. Listen... I contacted my superiors about what has been happening on this island and about the impending attack. But I could not do anything about the launch."
"No problem. You have already helped enough. Leave Syndrome and his creation to us"
"Here... plans for the latest design, they may be incomplete, but it should have enough information to make a solid plan. And good luck."
Launching myself into the air, I leave the island behind before opening the system and returning to my home universe.
