The woman in the red dress danced her way over to Xiao Yiqian, suddenly draping her arm over his and saying, "Dance with me."
Xiao Yiquan danced with her.
She had danced wildly before, but now slowed her pace.
Her waist was supple and slender, swaying beneath Xiao Yiquan's arm with an indescribable charm.
As they danced on, her body gradually pressed against Xiao Yiquan's chest....
By the time they descended the mountain, dawn was breaking.
Xiao Yiqian drove to Haitian Residence, but the woman in red didn't let him enter the compound. She had him get out outside and added his number instead.
Watching her figure disappear, Xiao Yiqian shook his head.
"Life's tough for everyone,"
he murmured with a sigh.
He hailed a cab back to the hotel. By the time he arrived, daylight had fully broken.
Shift change at seven. After eating, he returned to the dormitory.
He slept through the morning. With nothing to do in the afternoon, he went out for a stroll.
Arriving at a building, he saw a sign posted at the entrance advertising for sales representatives.
Xiao Yiquan immediately got an idea.
Many security guards took on side jobs.
Day shifts ran from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., it was their own time.
Night shifts were even better—the entire day was free.
The only downside was poor sleep during night shifts, leaving many feeling sluggish.
But that wasn't an issue for Xiao Yiquan. With the Celestial Witch inheritance within him, both his physical constitution and mental fortitude had undergone a complete transformation.
To put it plainly, he could go several nights without sleep and feel perfectly fine. Even when he did sleep, two or three hours sufficed.
And sales representatives enjoyed considerable freedom.
They didn't need to sit at a desk or work shifts; they simply went out to drum up business.
The base salary for sales reps wasn't high, relying mainly on commissions, which meant great flexibility—perfect for Xiao Yiqian.
He wanted to make money, he wanted to get rich, he wanted to buy a house in Haicheng and marry a wife.
When he first arrived, he dared not dream of such things. Now, his ambitions had grown.
Or rather, they had run wild.
He entered, following the instructions on the notice: up to the third floor, where he found the manager's office.
He knocked on the door.
A woman's voice answered from inside: "Come in."
Xiao Yiquan turned the knob and entered. A desk stood by the window, a computer on it. A woman was bent over, engrossed in something—her face hidden.
Xiao Yiquan approached a few steps and said, "Hello, I'm here to apply for the sales position."
The woman looked up.
Xiao Yiquan froze.
It was the woman in the red dress from last night, though today she wore a blue office outfit that made her look even more capable.
The red-dress woman froze upon recognizing Xiao Yiquan, her eyes widening in shock. "You followed me?"
This was a huge misunderstanding. Xiao Yiquan scrambled to explain, "No, I really am here for the sales position... I'm a security guard working nights. Since I'm free during the day, I thought I'd look for some part-time work... Lots of my coworkers have side gigs..."
He explained, but the woman in red merely stared at him without responding, clearly unconvinced.
Xiao Yiquan had no choice but to say, "I'm sorry, I really wasn't following you. I'll leave now."
He turned and walked out. Once outside, he exhaled and thought to himself, "That was too much of a coincidence."
Feeling unlucky, Xiao Yiquan gave up on finding a part-time job. He returned to his dormitory. His roommate was on the day shift, so no one was there. He decided to practice his martial arts instead.
He rose at six, ate breakfast, and took over the shift at seven.
Around nine, his phone rang. He saw it was the woman in red calling.
"Why is she calling me? Does she want to yell at me again?"
Xiao Yiqian answered. Her voice came through: "Come to the top of East Hill."
She was summoning him to East Hill again—that much was clear.
Xiao Yiquan hesitated before replying, "I'm on duty."
"Just get someone to cover for you," she said.
Her voice was sweet and seductive, instantly stirring something within him.
She felt like a pot of spicy hotpot—exciting, tempting, and a little scary. Yet, he couldn't help but want more.
He agreed, hung up, and asked a colleague on the day shift to cover for him. He'd return to his regular shift tomorrow.
He hailed a cab and headed straight for the summit of East Hill.
Upon reaching the peak, he spotted the woman in the red dress standing before the Sunrise Pavilion.
She had changed into a new outfit: a tight-fitting red top paired with a teal pencil skirt, complemented by sheer stockings and red high heels. Viewed from the side, her curves were exquisitely defined.
Xiao Yiquan felt an involuntary warmth surge through him.
He parked and approached. The woman in red turned, her expression a faint, mocking smile. "So you followed me."
"Honestly, I didn't," Xiao Yiquan protested. "I genuinely came to apply for the sales position."
Seeing his flustered reaction, the red-skirted woman giggled softly.
She reached out, resting her hand on Xiao Yiquan's knee. Noticing his momentary daze, she teased playfully, "Hold me."
Her shifting expressions, her laughter—she was truly enchanting.
Xiao Yiquan wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Just stick to being a security guard. Why take on extra work?" Her warm breath brushed against his face.
"I want to save some money."
"What are you saving money for?" the woman in red asked. "Buying a house? Getting married? You can't afford a place in Haicheng, can you?"
"Yeah." Xiao Yiquan nodded, sounding a bit down. "Definitely can't afford one in Haicheng. I'll buy back in the county."
"How much are houses in your county?"
"Expensive too. " Xiao Yiqian complained. "Prime locations go for over three thousand, and even the less desirable ones start at two thousand seven or eight."
"You're not from the county seat?"
"Nope." Xiao Yiqian nodded. "I'm from a township below it, but it's close to the county seat—just over ten miles away."
"You're pretty determined, huh?" the woman in red smiled.
"No choice," Xiao Yiqian said. " Without a house now, no one will marry me. I actually have a house back home—even a shopfront in town—but girls from town, or even the villages below, won't marry me. At least you need a house in the county."
"How much have you saved up so far?" the woman in red asked.
Xiao Yiquan remained silent.
"Still guarding your secrets from me," the woman in red giggled.
She wrapped her arms around Xiao Yiquan's waist, and when she laughed, her body pressed against his chest. Xiao Yiquan felt as if two soft mounds were kneading against his chest.
His heart stirred, and he leaned in to kiss the woman in the red dress.
But she dodged him.
What's this little devil playing at?
"Do you really want to be a salesperson?" the woman in red asked.
"Mhm." Xiao Yiquan nodded.
"Then go to Happy Valley tomorrow. There's a company called Yihong Winery hiring sales reps."
"Can't I work under you?" Xiao Yiquan asked.
"No." The woman in red shook her head. Seeing Xiao Yiquan's gaze, she flashed a slight smile: "Having you at my company would make me uncomfortable."
Xiao Yiquan understood.
The woman in red had her reasons, but she didn't want him to know.
"Happy Valley, Yihong Winery." Xiao Yiquan nodded. "Got it. I'll check it out the day after tomorrow."
"Why the day after tomorrow?"
"I'm on duty today. I need to find someone to cover my shift. Tomorrow I have to return the favor for someone else."
"Just give him a hundred bucks."
The woman in red said this, noticing Xiao Yiquan staring at her. She continued, "The owner of Yihong Winery is named Xie Hong. If you can get a video of her in bed, I'll give you a hundred thousand yuan."
"Huh?"
Xiao Yiquan froze.
"Plus," the woman in red continued, "I can hook you up with deals. By year-end, you'll rake in at least two hundred thousand in commissions."
She looked him over. "What do you say?"
