Chapter 383: Obito's Clone vs. Edo Madara
"I'm not here to fight—I'm here to cooperate."
Kabuto retracted his arrogance and tried to show his sincerity. He really had no intention of opposing Akatsuki. What he wanted was to study the secret behind Akatsuki collecting all nine tailed beasts, and cooperating with them was the best way to do that.
Obito's clone looked at Kabuto coldly. "You have one more chance. Speak nonsense again, and you die."
Edo Tensei!
This time, Kabuto didn't dare test his luck. Without saying another word, he immediately activated his strongest trump card. Several coffins emerged from the ground.
Clunk... Before the lid of the frontmost coffin could even open, the ninja inside kicked it off from the inside.
A steam-covered hand gripped the coffin's edge, and a figure stepped out from the mist—none other than the first of the Uchiha Clan's Four Maniacs of Laughter, the Shura of the Shinobi World—Uchiha Madara.
"Finally... I've finally waited for this day!"
"Looks like that brat Obito's plan worked!"
Clenching his fist with excitement, Madara could hardly contain himself. He had returned to the shinobi world and could now begin executing his Eye of the Moon Plan.
"Hm... this is... Edo Tensei!"
He quickly noticed the strange nature of his body. It wasn't his original flesh—this was the Edo Tensei body.
He hadn't been resurrected by Rinne Rebirth.
"Looks like Obito's plan didn't go as smoothly as expected—he had to bring me back as an Edo Tensei."
"Obi... hmm?!"
Just as he was analyzing the situation, Madara finally noticed the figure in front of him—Obito's clone—especially the Rinnegan in his eyes.
"Obito!!"
Madara was stunned. Until he laid eyes on him, he hadn't sensed Obito's presence at all. It was only upon seeing the mask and the Rinnegan that he confirmed the person's identity.
When did Obito develop such powerful chakra concealment?
But that wasn't what shocked him the most.
What truly shocked Madara was that Obito could hide even the Rinnegan's chakra so perfectly, to the point that Madara—its original owner—couldn't sense it.
To achieve that, there was only one possibility:
Obito had completely adapted to and mastered the Rinnegan. Otherwise, there's no way he could suppress its chakra to such a degree.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Just then, the other coffins opened one after another, revealing their revived contents.
Uchiha Itachi!
Hanzo of the Salamander!
The Fourth Kazekage, the Third Raikage, the Second Tsuchikage, and the Second Mizukage.
A total of six powerful figures, all at Kage level. With Madara added, it was no wonder Kabuto was so confident—coming to negotiate with Obito alone.
If this had been the Obito from the original series, facing the real Madara, this so-called "Fake Madara" wouldn't have been able to refuse Kabuto's proposal.
But unfortunately… this Obito wasn't the same Obito anymore. This was the Obito clone empowered with Dual Mangekyō Kamui.
Even without borrowing Li Yao's abilities, just the power of dual Kamui made this Obito clone unafraid of Madara—perhaps even capable of killing him.
"So? Is my strength worthy of cooperation?"
Kabuto stepped out from behind the row of coffins, regaining some of his confidence—perhaps because of Madara's presence. His grin had become much more assured.
"You're the one who summoned me?" Madara asked calmly, glancing at Kabuto. There was no trace of humiliation on his face, even though he was being controlled by Edo Tensei. He didn't know the hand signs for breaking free, but he showed no panic at all.
Kabuto respectfully replied, "Yes, it was me. But it wasn't just summoning you—I specifically prepared this body to allow you to unleash your full strength at your peak."
Not all Edo Tensei summons could use their full power.
The stronger the living sacrifice used in the summoning, the closer the revived ninja's power would be to their original peak.
Otherwise, even someone as powerful as the God of Shinobi, if summoned using a weak ninja's body, would have his Wood Release reduced to only covering rooftops—nowhere near its true scale of covering miles.
For Madara, the other four Kage, and Uchiha Itachi, Kabuto had prepared optimized sacrifices—enough to recover at least 99% of their original strength.
That's why Kabuto was so confident. He didn't believe anyone in the ninja world could resist an Edo Tensei army led by Uchiha Madara and backed by four Kage.
Not even the so-called "Fake Madara."
"You've seen my prime?"
Madara folded his arms and glanced sideways at Kabuto.
Kabuto smiled and replied, "No, but I'm looking forward to it."
Madara lowered his hands and turned to Obito's clone, his gaze icy. "Very well. Then I'll show you."
Without another word, he charged toward Obito's clone. Li Yao had long wanted to face peak-form Uchiha Madara, and now, using Obito's body, he could fight without restraint. He wasn't going to back down.
Boom boom boom boom!
The instant they clashed, fists and feet flew like blades, each blow landing with terrifying force.
Every strike carried impact rivaling the power of a Taijutsu user who had opened the Third Gate of the Eight Inner Gates.
Whoosh whoosh...
Fist winds and sweeping kicks sliced through the air like blades, the air itself screaming as it was torn apart by the sheer force.
They fought at lightning speed, blending power and technique.
Crater after crater erupted on the battlefield.
The two had already moved deep into the forest, hundreds of meters away.
Watching from a distance, Kabuto stood atop a tall tree. He realized both combatants had already far surpassed the Kage level.
He withdrew the other Edo Tensei summons and focused on the clash unfolding far away.
Whether or not he could cooperate depended entirely on whether Madara could suppress this so-called Uchiha Obito.
"So the fake Uchiha is actually Uchiha Obito after all!"
Kabuto had already confirmed it from Madara's earlier words. Only someone from the Uchiha clan could wield the Mangekyō Sharingan so fluently.
"Hahaha… this is exhilarating!"
"Obito, you've grown a lot!"
Madara laughed wildly mid-fight. Obito was matching his speed and strikes—a surprise even to him.
Madara possessed straight-comma Mangekyō Sharingan, which gave him enhanced agility and reflexes as part of its unique traits.
Yet Obito—without straight-comma Sharingan—was equally agile and reactive. That alone showed how far Obito had grown.
"You're not bad yourself."
Obito's clone, Li Yao, smiled. Even without using Lightning Release Chakra Mode, Sage Mode, or mass-reducing techniques, his speed and reflexes were already among the best in the ninja world—with no clear weaknesses.
Compared to Madara's surprise at his speed, Li Yao was even more impressed that Madara could keep up with him.
He had assumed Madara's strength lay only in using Susanoo and mastering Rinnegan abilities. He hadn't expected Madara's taijutsu to be this formidable.
Truly worthy of battling the God of Shinobi. Like Li Yao, Madara had no obvious weaknesses.
"So you underestimated me."
Obito's clone's words struck a nerve in Madara. Since when had a mere pawn dared to grin at him like that?
