Chapter 207 - Chapter 207: Flowing Wind Armor

Chapter 207: Flowing Wind Armor

"Core executives?"

Upon hearing that, Kazekaze's eyes lit up. He formed a one-handed seal and looked at Li Yao and Koyuki with a smirk. "Looks like we won't need to go find Akatsuki's leader after all."

If he could take these two down, extracting the truth about Akatsuki from their minds would be easy.

"They're done for now. Lord Kazekaze's exclusive secret technique—reputed as the Wind Style Taijutsu of the Wind Walker—is said to rival the speed of the Third Raikage's Lightning Chakra Mode."

"The Third Kazekage once said, 'If anyone in the future could kill Konoha's Sakumo , it would be Lord Kazekaze.'"

The two Sunagakure ninja looked at the young man before them with pride and admiration.

At that moment, it looked like he was clad in a transparent, fluid-like armor. His entire figure shimmered with the heat of distorted air, as if the very space around him was warping.

Back during the latter stages of the Second Great Ninja War, Kazekaze—only twelve at the time—had rampaged across battlefields with this Wind Style Taijutsu technique.

He even managed to escape from the terrifying Konoha Sakumo , shaking all of Sunagakure.

Everyone in the village believed he was the best candidate to succeed the Third Kazekage as the Fourth.

The two Suna shinobi were convinced that after years of refinement, Lord Kazekaze's Wind Style must have grown even stronger. The enemy before them was nothing special and would undoubtedly fall.

"Such condensed Wind Chakra!"

Li Yao's eyes gleamed with interest. The boy was shrouded in a layer of Wind Chakra so compressed it appeared almost liquid—a flowing wind armor that deflected every raindrop that approached.

"This Taijutsu technique must be incredibly fast."

In an instant, Li Yao recognized the massive speed advantage granted by the Wind Style Taijutsu.

Wind Release could be used like this?

His interest only grew as he studied the boy.

Excellent.

Truly excellent.

Eager now, Li Yao turned to Koyuki and said, "I'll play with this Suna brat. You handle the two behind him."

"An opening!"

Before Koyuki could respond, Kazekaze seized on Li Yao's glance away, flickering forward in an instant, his katana—coated in that flowing Wind Chakra—thrusting directly toward Li Yao's heart.

His movement, just as Li Yao had guessed, caused both air and raindrops to part—silent, swift, and deadly.

Had Li Yao not possessed such strong chakra sensory abilities, he might not have detected the attack at all.

"Impressive."

Li Yao calmly offered his evaluation, twisting his body to the side as he punched toward the boy's chest in one fluid motion.

In terms of physical speed and reaction time, Li Yao now had the slight edge over the boy using Wind Style Taijutsu.

What Kazekaze saw as an opening was, in fact, his own weakness in Li Yao's eyes.

But then, something unexpected happened.

At such close range, Kazekaze should've had no chance to dodge the punch—it should've hit him squarely.

Yet the boy's body swayed like paper in the wind, slipping aside with the momentum of Li Yao's strike.

"Paper Drawing from the Six Powers of the Navy?"

Li Yao was astonished again. Wind Release could be used like this too?

Excellent. Very impressive.

He grinned internally and quickly closed the distance, giving Kazekaze no chance to flee, and initiated a close-quarters fight.

Boom! Boom! Every punch and kick from Li Yao carried devastating force.

The ground beneath them looked like it had been struck by a barrage of artillery.

One massive crater after another formed wherever they clashed.

"Incredible!"

"To think someone can trade taijutsu blows with Uncle like this!"

Floating in the air with paper wings on her back, Koyuki watched the scene below. Though the fighters themselves were barely visible, the thunderous shockwaves filled the air. She was genuinely impressed.

Over the past two years, Uncle had sparred with Yahiko and the others using taijutsu. Koyuki knew better than anyone how terrifying his strength was.

Especially his speed—when he went all out, not even she could withstand his attacks.

Yet now, a fifteen-year-old boy was managing to hold his own against Uncle's blazing-fast assault.

With talent like that… if she didn't know better, she'd be worried for Uncle's safety.

"Impossible?"

"Absolutely impossible?!"

Unlike Koyuki's admiration, the two Suna chunin were in utter disbelief. Their eyes bulged as they craned their necks toward the deafening battleground.

Though they couldn't see the combatants directly, the craters left behind painted a clear picture: their future Fourth Kazekage, Lord Kazekaze—after activating his exclusive Wind Style Taijutsu—was clearly on the defensive.

They couldn't believe it.

In past missions, Lord Kazekaze had dominated with his explosive speed and ultra-sharp Wind Chakra attacks. Whether against rock, sea, fire, or lightning—he could slice through anything.

His blade could cut through all.

Usually, they'd watch him chase down enemies with ease, leaving behind endless, deep slash marks.

But now?

There were barely any slash marks at all. Just crater after crater from fists and kicks.

It was painfully obvious—Lord Kazekaze, who they thought was invincible, was unable to fight back. He was solely focused on dodging.

"Faster! Faster!"

Li Yao moved like lightning, staying within a meter of the boy at all times. His punches and kicks were like cannons—devastating and swift—but still not quite fast enough.

The flowing Wind Armor around his opponent acted like the mucus on an eel, making every hit slide off just in time.

They clashed like two slippery fish, neither able to land a solid blow.

Li Yao knew—only if his speed was fast enough could he hit the boy before the wind had time to shift and slide away.

With his strength, he only needed one clean hit.

Kazekaze clearly understood this too.

Gone was his earlier confidence. Now his entire focus was on maintaining control over the Flowing Wind Armor.

Flowing Wind Armor was a Wind Style Taijutsu technique he'd developed unintentionally after refining his Wind Chakra to an extremely high level.

By compressing high-quality Wind Chakra into a fluid armor and fusing it with his body, he gained the ability to deflect attacks by letting his body "flow" with the wind.

It also allowed him to eliminate air resistance, granting near-unmatched mobility.

When coating his katana with the armor, he could unleash a single slash with such compressed wind that it could slice gold and stone alike.

With this technique, Kazekaze hadn't felt helpless in years.

"What kind of monster is this?!"

As the battle dragged on, sweat began to bead on Kazekaze's forehead. His eyes betrayed growing fear as he looked at Li Yao.

The last time he had felt this kind of overwhelming threat was against Konoha's Sakumo —Sakumo Hatake.

Sakumo had been faster, and his white chakra blade even sharper than Kazekaze's own wind blades. Not even the Flowing Wind Armor could deflect him.

Back then, Kazekaze had only escaped thanks to jagged terrain that enhanced his mobility—and because Sakumo had chosen to save his comrades rather than pursue the kill.

This time, he wouldn't be so lucky.

"What do I do?"

"How can I escape?"

The longer the battle went on, the more anxious Kazekaze became.

Li Yao's attacks weren't piercing the Flowing Wind Armor like Sakumo's had—but he had no comrades to distract him, and the terrain was no help.

Worse, Li Yao was faster than him.

There was no escape.

If this kept up, Kazekaze knew he would run out of chakra first.

He didn't even need to fully run dry—once his reserves dropped to around 30%, he'd no longer be able to maintain the Flowing Wind Armor.

And at that point, with Li Yao's speed and power, one punch would be enough to end him.
