Chapter 360: Opportunity — The Dual-Colored Fruit

When Zhongli Wu's vision finally cleared, he found himself standing upon a vast expanse of dark red soil.

The sky above was dim and oppressive, shrouded perpetually in heavy clouds.

The air was thick with evil energy, chaotic will, and a pure aura of darkness so dense it could almost be touched.

The land before him was filled with jagged, barren mountains—no plants in sight. Only twisted, shadow-like creatures wandered aimlessly in the distance.

"Buzz… buzz… buzz…"

An indescribably dense tide of evil and darkness surged toward him like a living storm, wrapping his entire body in its suffocating embrace.

Zhongli Wu shuddered violently, every pore of his body opening instinctively.

He inhaled greedily, drawing the energy in—energy that harmonized perfectly with his own soul power. Deep within his cultivation bottleneck, he heard a soft cracking sound, and excitement exploded within his chest.

"This place… this place is…"

His entire body trembled with elation, eyes blazing with near-manic joy.

"This is it—this is the sacred ground I've dreamed of! The ultimate paradise for Evil Soul Masters!"

Suppressing the urge to sit and cultivate immediately, he forced himself to remain alert, scanning his surroundings carefully.

The realm stretched endlessly before him, and though the land seemed still, there were terrifying auras hidden far away.

"I must be careful. Find a place to hide first—then explore slowly," he muttered, though he could not conceal the wild delight curling on his lips.

"No matter what, this secret order from the Star Auction Pavilion… has brought me an incomprehensible blessing."

"The path to godhood lies right before me!"

With that thought, his figure blended into the shadows of this unknown plane, beginning his exploration of this dark, evil domain.

But his joy quickly turned to unease.

The pressure here was suffocating.

The very energy of this world was too vast—so far above that of Douluo Continent that it pressed upon his body and soul like an invisible mountain.

He tried circulating his soul power, only to find it sluggish, sticky, as though bound in thick mud.

Its flow slowed drastically, and much of its strength was suppressed.

"This plane's level… it surpasses Douluo Continent completely!"

Yet instead of fear, Zhongli Wu's eyes burned hotter, more feverish.

The higher the plane, the greater the potential.

One day of training here might equal months of cultivation back home!

If he could stay here, perhaps find treasures unique to this world, reaching the level of godhood would no longer be mere fantasy.

Suppressing the desire to sit and absorb the surrounding power, he remained cautious, concealing his aura to its thinnest trace.

Slipping through the shadows like a serpent, he began exploring this wasteland—ominous, oppressive, yet intoxicatingly aligned with his nature.

He moved with utmost care, senses extended, evading areas filled with stronger energies.

The more he explored, the more astonished he became.

This realm was broader and more dangerous than he had imagined, yet its evil resonance only deepened his fascination.

Suddenly—

"Rumble!"

The ground convulsed violently. A mountain in the distance rose upright—except it was no mountain at all.

It was a colossal creature.

It resembled a lizard, but bore three monstrous heads, each covered in plates of black bone. Red eyes the size of houses glowed with madness and destruction.

From its vast body flowed a thick, nearly liquid darkness. The aura it released chilled even Zhongli Wu's soul—it was pure evil distilled to perfection.

"ROOOAR!"

All three heads bellowed at once. The sound struck like a storm of evil power, shredding the air and sending shockwaves so violent they made his protective soul force waver.

Zhongli Wu's face drained of color. From that creature alone, he felt death.

The natural aura radiating from its body eclipsed every form of corrupted energy he had ever known.

This was something ancient, something close to the very law and essence of evil itself.

"Beyond ultimate evil… what kind of monster is this?!"

Utter terror seized him. Any thought of resistance vanished.

The beast's six crimson eyes locked on him, and with an earth-shaking stride, it charged forward.

Zhongli Wu turned and fled without hesitation.

His Martial Soul flared—nine Spirit Rings ignited in succession. Even dimmed by the oppressive plane, they still surged with every drop of his remaining power.

His body became a blur of black light streaking across the wasteland.

But no matter how he changed course or tried to hide amidst terrain, the three-headed monstrosity always adjusted its hunt, tracking him unerringly.

Only one thing worked in his favor—its size.

The titanic creature moved slowly, giving him precious seconds to maneuver.

As he ran, Zhongli Wu's sharp instincts noticed something strange.

The beast's movements weren't random—it wasn't hunting him simply for prey.

Each time he veered near a certain region, it blocked his path with ferocity, as if guarding something.

That realization made his heart tremble.

Abandoning his panicked escape, he changed tactics, circling the area to gain a better look.

At last, after a narrow dodge, his gaze broke through the thick clouds of dark mist—

And there he saw it.

In the heart of a tranquil clearing grew a tree only slightly taller than a man.

Its trunk shimmered with a dim metallic gold sheen, its sparse leaves carrying the faint hum of law energy.

Hanging alone at its crown was a fruit.

It was the size of a fist, perfectly round and unnaturally smooth, colored in two intertwining halves.

One half was an abyssal black, deep enough to swallow all light.

The other was a royal violet, flickering faint arcs of divine thunder.

The two hues weren't divided—they pulsed together like living energy, twining and circulating.

Even at a distance, Zhongli Wu could feel the overwhelming power within it—an energy vast enough to shatter mortal limits.

"This is…"

His soul flared with hunger. His body trembled uncontrollably.

A voice screamed in his mind—

Consume it!

Devour it, and the barrier of Ultimate Douluo will crumble.

The gate to godhood will open before you.

"Fortune favors the bold!"

"Then I'll risk it all!"

Mad resolve gleamed in Zhongli Wu's eyes.

Clenching his teeth, he unleashed his full strength—not to escape, but to lure the monster away.
