Chapter 324: Extraction of the Soul Ring and Soul Bone
Jiang Li watched intently as the body of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King below continued to reform. Something unreadable flickered in his eyes, and the corner of his mouth lifted ever so slightly in a mysterious smile.
The expression disappeared in an instant—so fleeting it was almost an illusion.
To resurrect a soul beast that had been dead for ten thousand years was no simple feat—especially one as formidable as the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, a true million-year existence.
Restoring its full strength required more than flesh and essence. Its soul ring and soul bone—remnants of its own might—were the key.
With those returned, the creature could not only live again but quickly regain its former peak power.
Those relics, however, were no longer here—both had long since become part of Tang San.
But Jiang Li knew exactly what to do. If he dared claim he could revive the whale, then naturally, he had the means to reclaim its soul ring and soul bone as well.
As the creature's massive heart pulsed for the first time, Jiang Li's eyes narrowed slightly.
Now.
The thought flashed like lightning.
At once, his martial soul rippled to life, an obscure power stirring deep within him.
Instantly, his Invincible Domain expanded outward, invisible yet omnipotent, tearing through the fabric of space.
No shockwaves struck Douluo Continent—the force vanished into a streak of light, crossing dimensions directly toward the Divine Realm.
Jiang Li's eyes gleamed, dark and fathomless.
He knew Tang San's strength all too well. Even in his current weakened state, the former Sea God was still a true God King.
But this time, Jiang Li had no need for the Soul Heaven Emperor or Liu Shen to intervene. This would be the perfect test of his own power—his first trial after ascending beyond the divine threshold.
He had discovered a new application of his Invincible Domain: for a brief instant, it could directly act upon reality beyond Douluo Continent's boundaries.
Though brief, that fleeting moment was more than enough for what he intended—
—to rip the Deep Sea Demon Whale King's soul ring and soul bone from Tang San himself.
…
In the Divine Realm, within the Sea God Temple.
Tang San sat among the other gods, brow furrowed, discussing the pollution infecting Douluo's planar core. His expression was grim.
The Continent was the foundation of their divine realm. Any damage to its origin would inevitably ripple out toward the heavens.
They had debated endlessly, dispatching several gods to descend and investigate, yet no clear answers had surfaced.
The contamination, they knew, somehow connected to the Human Altar—the very artifact auctioned by the Star Pavilion.
Destroying that altar, however, was impossible. Doing so would collapse the flow of faith itself and devastate Douluo's core, dragging even the Divine Realm into chaos.
Each step forward had to be cautious. A single mistake now could bring utter ruin.
Then—
Without warning, a terrifying energy struck.
It came silently, without prelude, enveloping Tang San in its grip.
"What—?"
He froze, divine power surging instinctively, but his body refused to move. His soul itself trembled under a pressure that felt utterly alien—beyond the laws of their world.
A low hum sounded as the Clear Sky Hammer appeared unbidden, the weapon trembling violently as if bearing some unseen weight.
Tang San's heart seized. His ninth soul ring—the scarlet-golden halo gained from slaying the Deep Sea Demon Whale King—began to shudder uncontrollably.
That ring was no ordinary one—it had fused directly with his divine core, inseparable from his essence.
"Not good!"
His pupils shrank. He tried to stabilize it, but the force that gripped it was relentless—a curse carved into reality itself.
A muffled crack echoed through the temple.
The ninth ring was ripped away, torn violently from his body.
Pain lanced through him, so fierce it nearly split his soul apart.
A second shattering boom followed—his chest burst open, blood spraying across the gleaming floor as a piece of dark bone tore free, hovering in midair.
In a single instant, both the ring and the whale's torso bone had been snatched from him.
Tang San staggered, coughing blood, his face paling to the color of ash. His aura plummeted.
"Tang San!"
The God of Life rushed forward, eyes wide. "Who—who would dare to attack a God King within the Divine Realm?!"
Her emerald energy surged around him, trying to seal his wounds, but Tang San's condition was dire.
The other gods encircled them, their disbelief mirroring one another's.
"To forcibly strip a God King of his ring and bone—unheard of!"
"He carries twin thrones, Sea God and Asura! Who could possibly wield such power?"
Whispers of horror swept the chamber.
Tang San gritted his teeth, restraining the chaos within his blood. His fury flared—but beneath it was something colder, heavier: fear.
That force—what was it? He hadn't even sensed its approach.
It was so absolute that even his former peak could not have resisted it.
At that realization, panic rippled through his divine mind.
"Star Auction Pavilion…"
His voice trembled with rage. It had to be them.
No other being, mortal or divine, possessed the skill or audacity to infiltrate the Divine Realm itself.
But why? Why only his ninth ring and the whale's soul bone? What purpose could such precision serve?
Before he could reflect further, he froze.
A familiar aura brushed his senses—ancient, oceanic, and impossibly vast.
That pressure…
"Deep Sea Demon Whale King?" he croaked, disbelief flooding his face.
He turned to the others. "The aura—it's him! He's alive!"
The gods stared at him, some incredulous, others skeptical.
"Impossible!" one exclaimed. "You absorbed his soul ring and bone yourself ten thousand years ago. How could he live again?"
"A soul beast devoured and refined into godly essence cannot return," another said. "This defies every law of creation!"
Their astonishment filled the temple—and none could deny the dread that crept into their hearts.
For if the impossible had truly occurred, then somewhere far below, the cycle of fate had just been rewritten.
