Chapter 1 - Choose wisely

Bzzzzz Bzzzzz the phone vibrated mercilessly on the oak night stand that strangely sat in the middle of the dim room.

The room was neatly put together as if no one ever lived there like it was a promotional in a magazine catalogue for rich people.

Except one out of place thing well two you count the nightstand.

The Girl lying in the middle of the floor her chest rose and fell so she wasn't dead and there were no bottles, pills or drugs so what happened to her.

Bzzzzzz the phone went off again

"Hold on" the girl mumbled rolling over as if she was merely lying in bed

She reached over towards the nightstand she assumed was next to her causing her arm to fall.

Bzzzzzzzz the phone sounded again

"Shut up."she shot as she sat up her eyes grew wide she looked from right to left then from left to right "Where am I." She pushed herself up.

She looked at the nightstand next to the window that was painted black

She picked up the phone with 1 message notification reading: You have until sunrise to remember what you did."

The message was ominous

"What I did?"

"I didn't do anything... right?"she scrunched her face thinking

She looked at the phone it didn't show a time like it had been completely written out of the phones database.

One app remained the message app, she clicked on it and only one contact it had no name not prior messages, just an anonymous contact with one message demanding She remember what she'd done.

"This is a sick, joke come out guy this isn't funny." She looked in desperation hoping that this was the case but the room was as silent as it was pristine.

The room was painted white, grey couch with white pillows a granite island with two brown, bar stools, appliances, plates, bowls dishes put away, this looked like someones apartment.

She looked through each room each more luxurious then the last, but it was missing something she hadn't seen one family picture, or any for that matter and there were no clocks any where.

After looking for around half an hour the phoned sounded with a loud bzzzzzz

She pulled the phone out of her pocket the message read

"Looking in one room won't give you what you need tick tock." The words were troubling

(how did they know she was still in there) She thought then she remembered apartments usually have cameras in the hallways and they didn't see her leave the room.

She walked back into the living room sat on the couch and folded her arms

(I cant panic that what they want) she thought

"How can I get out of this." She questioned the air like an answer would fall from the ceiling

"Uggghhhh fine you win!" she shouted in the empty apartment like she was hearing voices

She stood with newfound determination grabbing the front door knob and opening the door

Warmth hugged her tightly and carpet cleaner and vacuum smell barged into her nostrils she poked her head out slowly as if expecting someone to jump yelling Pranked you but nothing happened.

The carpet was red fuzzy with black and white polka a dots

"So tacky." she laughed walking into the deserted halls the room across was room 214

"Second floor." she noted

But am I supposed to just knock on the doors and say oh I need to come inside and get clues I can't do that I sound like a creep she smacked her face in desperation

"Kana you got." hyping herself up for the biggest humiliation of her life.

Walking over and knocking on the door three times nothing she knocked again but still nothing placing her ear on the door trying to hear if someone was in there Nothing still

Her heart began to beat faster sweat started dripping down from her forehead instinctively she twisted the door knob opening the door.

This room was just as luxurious dim light from the ceiling fan and painted black windows just like the room she just came from she walked in

Excuse me! Still no one answered

Kana walked through the hall looking at the island that had food on it Steak and mashed potatoes and gravy

Grrrrrrr her stomach rumbled

No ones here anyways she grabbed the plate it was warm.

"Why was it, warm was whosever it was still here?

The room looked almost identical to the last room she was in but she found paper and a pen she grabbed adding to her inventory

It had been about 30 minutes since her last message from unknown when the next had come in

Message: I see you'r enjoying what I made you I hope its to your satisfaction but back to business In this apartment every room is free for you to explore but pay close attention because you might overlook a key to figuring out what you need to leave. Write it down remember it all until you have it. Every 30 minutes I'll send you a message and very hour i'll give you a new room so keep the phone charged and an ear open.

Fear rose inside her she held back tears by biting her lip as the phone went off one more time.

Message: ROOM 303 :)

They were taunting her and she knew it but there was absolutely nothing for her to do tears fell down her face she covered her eyes with her hands balling into them the room was silent.

She had no one to hug her, tell her it's going to be ok.

But this is where she thrived when it was only her in the ring no coach no support it was the story of her entire life.

Kana slammed her fist into the island finished her plate and walked out the room.

Out of Order a sign on the elevator she looked in the right corner to a camera pointing directly at her

"You bastard probably getting kicks outta all this." she raised her hand pointing her middle finger to the camera

She walked up the stairs to the third floor as the sign on the door said only stopping to look up where the stairs continued

She pushed open the door being greeted by the same vacuum and carpet cleaner smell and dingy red polka dot carpet

303 was her first door to the left

Kana placed her hand on the door

Ring ring the phone went off

He didn't say anything about calling she hesitated a little before answering and putting the phone to her ear

Hello she said shakily

A short pause only filled with the callers slow breaths
