Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: LAGOS

Sophia, Patrick, and Cheryl fled Calabar, hiding in plain sight as they made their way back to Lagos. Patrick had arranged for a private jet to whisk them away, providing a much-needed escape from the mysterious forces pursuing them.

As they settled into their Lagos hideout, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. One day, while getting ready for the day, she gazed into the bathroom mirror and frowned at her hair. It lacked luster, and the style wasn't flattering her face.

"Patrick, I need a hair makeover," Sophia said, tugging at her locks.

Patrick nodded sympathetically. "Let's get an Uber and head to the best salon in town."

"Take us to the best beauty salon," Patrick instructed the Uber driver.

The driver nodded and dropped them off at Tomorrow's Signature Salon, a renowned spot for beauty and elegance. As they entered, Sophia was greeted by the warm ambiance and skilled stylists.

Sophia was ushered to a stylist's chair, and Patrick sat back, relaxed, as the transformation began. With a new hairstyle, Sophia would feel revitalized and ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As the stylist worked her magic, Sophia's hair was transformed. The new style framed her face perfectly, and the color added a vibrant touch to her overall look.

"Wow, I love it!" Sophia exclaimed, admiring her reflection.

Patrick smiled, pleased with the result. "You look stunning."

The stylist added a few finishing touches, and Sophia felt like a new person. As they prepared to leave, the salon owner approached them.

"You're welcome to join our loyalty program," she said, handing Sophia a card. "You'll receive exclusive discounts and priority appointments."

Sophia thanked her and tucked the card into her purse. As they stepped out of the salon, Sophia felt a sense of normalcy wash over her. For a brief moment, she forgot about the mysterious forces pursuing them.

But as they hailed another Uber, Patrick's phone buzzed with an urgent message. His expression turned serious, and he glanced around cautiously.

"What is it?" Sophia asked, sensing trouble.

Patrick's eyes locked onto hers. "It's about Marcus. He's been spotted in Lagos."

Sophia's heart sank, and she felt the familiar sense of unease creeping back in. Their brief respite was over; the chase was on again.

Cheryl likely used the Find My app on her iPhone to track Patrick's location. To do this, she would have needed to follow these steps here "Cheryl would open the Find My app on her iPhone."

"She would tap "People" at the bottom of the screen."

" Cheryl would select Patrick's name from the list of friends or family members whose locations she has permission to see."

"Once she selects Patrick's name, the app would display his current location on a map."

After tracking Patrick's iPhone location, Cheryl got a taxi to their location. It's worth noting that for this to work, Patrick would have needed to previously share his location with Cheryl through the Find My app. If Patrick had turned off location services or was in a area with no cellular or Wi-Fi connection, Cheryl might not have been able to see his location. Additionally, if Patrick's iPhone was dead or offline, the Find My app would show his last known location.

As Cheryl arrived at the location, she spotted Patrick and Sophia stepping out of an Uber. She paid the taxi driver and hurried towards them.

"Hey, guys! What's going on?" Cheryl asked, concern etched on her face.

Patrick and Sophia exchanged a glance, and Patrick filled Cheryl in on their salon visit and the update about Marcus.

Cheryl's expression turned worried. "We need to be careful. We can't let him find us."

Sophia nodded in agreement. "Let's get back to the safe house and come up with a plan."

As they walked, Cheryl mentioned she was feeling better but still a bit under the weather. Patrick suggested they grab some food and medicine on the way.

Their priority was to stay safe and one step ahead of Marcus. But as they navigated the crowded streets, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling they were being watched.

Let's get them back to the safe house and devise a plan.

As they arrived at the safe house, Sophia, Patrick, and Cheryl settled in, relieved to be off the streets. Patrick began researching ways to evade Marcus and Elizabeth, while Sophia and Cheryl brainstormed ideas.

Plan to Evade Marcus and Elizabeth;

"Change Appearance, Alter their looks to avoid recognition."

'New Safe House, Find a new, undisclosed location to hide."

"Gather Intel, Collect information on Marcus and Elizabeth's next moves."

"Secure Communication, Use encrypted channels to stay in touch."

Sophia suggested they reach out to trusted contacts for help, while Cheryl proposed creating a diversion to throw their pursuers off track. Patrick worked on encrypting their communication channels.

As they worked together, their plan began to take shape. But just as they thought they were making progress, Patrick's phone buzzed with an unknown number: "You can't hide forever."

The message sent a chill down their spines. Had Marcus and Elizabeth already found their new safe house?

Patrick's eyes narrowed as he showed the message to Sophia and Cheryl. "This is getting personal. We need to step up our game."

Sophia's voice was steady. "Let's assume they've tracked our location. We need to move, now."

The trio quickly gathered their essentials and left the safe house, disappearing into the crowded streets of Lagos.

* Here's Their Priority,

"Find a Secure Location, A place where they could regroup and finalize their plan."

"Stay One Step Ahead, Anticipate Marcus and Elizabeth's next move."

"Gather Resources, Collect everything they needed to take control of their situation."

As they navigated the bustling streets, they spotted a small internet café. Patrick suggested they duck inside to gather more information on their pursuers.

Inside, they began digging into Marcus and Elizabeth's backgrounds, searching for any weaknesses they could exploit. But the more they uncovered, the more they realized the danger that lurked in every shadow.

Suddenly, the café's Wi-Fi connection faltered, and a message flashed on the screen: "Connection compromised."

Their hearts racing, they knew they had to act fast. Had Marcus and Elizabeth found them again?

The trio quickly exited the internet café, scanning their surroundings for any signs of danger. They hailed a taxi and gave the driver a random destination, hoping to lose any potential pursuers in the crowded streets.

As they rode, Sophia's mind racing with questions. "How are they tracking us? Is it through our phones or something else?"

Patrick's eyes were fixed on his phone. "I'm trying to figure that out. Maybe they've hacked into the city's surveillance system."

Cheryl's voice was barely above a whisper. "We need to get off the grid completely."

The taxi dropped them off at a busy market, where they blended into the crowd. They made their way through the stalls, purchasing prepaid phones and new SIM cards.

Here's Their New Plan;

"New Phones, Use the prepaid phones to stay in touch, making it harder for Marcus and Elizabeth to track them."

"Change Appearance, Alter their looks again to avoid recognition."

"Safe House, Find a new, secure location to hide and regroup.'

With their new phones, they sent a message to a trusted contact, hoping to gather more information on Marcus and Elizabeth's next move. But as they waited for a response, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling they were running out of time.

As they waited for a response from their trusted contact, the market around them seemed to grow quieter, the sounds of vendors and shoppers fading into the background. Sophia's eyes scanned the crowd, her senses on high alert.

Suddenly, one of the prepaid phones buzzed with an incoming message. Patrick's eyes locked onto the screen, his expression tense.

The message was from an unknown number: "Meet me at the old clock tower at midnight. Come alone."

Sophia's heart skipped a beat. "Who is this? What do they want?"

Patrick's face was set in determination. "We'll find out tonight."

As they melted into the crowd, the clock tower loomed in the distance, its ominous presence seeming to draw them in.

"The Clock Tower Awaits..."

"Midnight, The meeting time.

"Old Clock Tower, The mysterious location."

"Come Alone, The ominous instruction."

Will they take the risk and attend the meeting, or will they flee and try to disappear again? The clock is ticking...
