A blond boy was shivering, his face pale and his lips chapped, as he lay on a broken wooden board on the sea.
The boy's name was Leno, originally from a minor noble family in the Goa Kingdom. Their cruise ship was attacked and massacred by pirates, and his parents threw him into the sea amidst the chaos. The original owner lay on the board and was replaced by a soul with the same name from Earth.
After sorting through his original memories, Leno looked around. Besides the broken wooden board, there was only a satchel and nothing else.
"Seriously, it's all water around here." Leno was now cold, hungry, and thirsty... A true hellish start. "I remember going to bed normally after work last night. I didn't get any lucky breaks, so why did I transmigrate into the sea?"
Leno struggled to open the satchel and saw a golden peel, some unfamiliar banknotes, and jewelry. Upon seeing the peel, Leno immediately took a bite. The moment he swallowed the peel, a panel appeared before his eyes, stunning him. Was it a system?
"System?! What can you do? Talk to me, System?"... He called out for a long time with no response. So it was just a panel?! Are you... a system? You are... right? With no other choice, Leno began to examine the panel.

It seemed the peel he just ate was the Goro Goro no Mi, and it had no side effects. Seeing the two empty slots on the panel, did this mean he could eat two more Devil Fruits? This was comfortable.
Watching the electrical sparks dancing on his left fingertip and his right hand turning into a black Armament Haki, Leno felt secure.
The next second, Leno put the plank into his backpack. *Crackle!* *Zap!* Leno appeared in mid-air, looking at a faint island in the distance.
Leno instantly arrived at the shore, took out the wooden board, tossed it on the beach, and walked towards the island with his bag.
"Hey, kid! Who are you? How did you get here?" asked a young man in a security uniform.
"Hello, Uncle, my name is Leno. My family ran into pirates, and I was the only one who survived. I drifted to this island. Where is this place?"
"You Cheeky brat, don't call me uncle. Call me Big Brother Genzo. This is Cocoyasi Village. So, you're the only one left in your family?"
Hmm? Cocoyasi Village? Nami's village? From Genzo's appearance, Nami must not have grown up yet. Considering his own age, he should just stay low for a few years.
"Yes, Big Brother Ge... Genzo. Are you the village chief here? Can I live here? I have money."
"I'm not the village chief, I'm the head of the village's security force. Living here is no problem, but..."
"Then it's no problem," Leno quickly interjected.
"You annoying kid..." Genzo muttered to himself. "Come with me. There's an empty house and a plot of land on the west side of the village. What are you planning to do?"
"I'll build my own house."
And so, with Genzo's help and the collaboration of the villagers, Leno built a small house with a yard in just two days.
Leno's life in Cocoyasi Village began. During this time, Leno learned that it was the year 1501 of the Sea Calendar, and Bell-mère was still a Marine.
Next, Leno began his journey to become stronger. He ran on the beach every day with a large rock on his back, did push-ups, sit-ups, and swam in the sea, constantly training.
During this time, Genzo came to visit Leno several times, saying that he was too young and that such training could hurt his body. But Leno always said he knew what he was doing. Eventually, Genzo stopped intervening, understanding that the child wanted to become stronger to take revenge because of the pirates.
Time flew by, and a year passed in the blink of an eye. Leno was now seven years old, and he had grown from a scrawny sprout to about 1.5 meters tall. Although his panel hadn't changed after a year of training, Leno's body had become much stronger.
"Looks like I'll have to go hunt small Sea Kings to replenish my energy." With that, Leno set up a small boat and sailed towards the Calm Belt. This trip was mainly to test the results of his training and to eat some meat.
He had almost run out of his money. If he wanted to eat meat, he had to hunt it himself.
The days passed like this. After the villagers' initial surprise when Leno dragged back his first Sea King, they became accustomed to him occasionally bringing back Sea Kings, and it no longer surprised them.
One day, Leno had just dragged a tens of meters long Sea King ashore when he saw Genzo and a few villagers talking with a woman.
As he got closer, he heard the villagers sighing.
"I can't believe that wild brat knows how to come back."
"Yeah, I know."
"Did she quit being a Marine? Did she get discharged for violating regulations?"
"Who's the father of those two kids? Why didn't she bring him back?" The villagers chattered playfully, but without malice.
"Enough! You bunch of jerks! This is Nami and Nojiko. I found them on the battlefield, and from now on, they are my daughters. I'll need everyone's help with them."
This was when everyone saw Leno dragging the Sea King towards them and greeted him, "Yo, Leno, went hunting again? This one is much bigger than the last one."
"Yeah, that kid Leno is hunting bigger and bigger Sea Kings."
Genzo walked up and patted Leno. "Kid, come here. Let me introduce you. This is Bell-mère. She was a Marine and has now returned. Her house is the one not far from yours. You two are neighbors now."
"Bell-mère, this is Leno. He came to our village last year. His family was killed by pirates, and he was the only survivor who escaped to our village."
"Hello, Bell-mère. Pleased to meet you. I look forward to your guidance in the future!"
"Hey, kid. You caught this Sea King yourself? Pretty impressive. Look forward to living near you." Bell-mère greeted him with a cigarette in her mouth.
