Chapter 1 - Prologue

[Welcome, chosen ones, to the Limitless Continent]

[You have been granted an opportunity to defy your limitations, gain strength, power, wealth and whatever you desire, as long as you live for it]

[On this continent, you either die as a conqueror or a prisoner]

[You start as a Lord, with a mansion, a troop-type summoning altar and hundred thousand worth of resources]

[Each Lord is also awarded a single talent, your talent is all up to fate]

[Your territory location is random; you have seven days of protection, as long as you are within your territory, you are safe from the attacks of other lords, natives and dire beasts]

[Once you leave your territory, your protection ends]

[The opportunity is here; whether you grasp it or not, depends on yourself...]

Seth stared in bewilderment at the black-gold screen floating in front of him.

"What is this??"

He had just been waiting at the bus stop in order to go home and sleep since he had just finished his graduation party. How he was now in a foggy place with a black-gold screen in front of him was confusing.

When he saw the words on the screen, he knew that what he was experiencing was real.

"This is just like playing Kingdom and Lords, but in VR mode except that this is not virtual but real life" Seth muttered to himself before he decided to check his status.

[Status]

Name: Seth

Race: Human

Rank: 0

Territory Name: Not Assigned

Territory Buildings: Lord's Mansion, Troop Summoning Pool.

Region: Unknown

Resources: 30,000 Stones, 30,000 Iron Ores, 30,000 Wood, 5,000 Silver, 5,000 Gold, 1 Territory Token.

Lord's Talent - ????

Constitution - Level 1

Wits - Level 1

Lore - Level 0

Spirit - Level 1

Charm - Level 1

Luck - Level 3

After looking through his status, he sighed, all his stats were either between level 0 and level 1, only his luck was level 3 and he could understand the reason.

Basically, they used the normal base stats without changing or adding any perks, Seth thought but he felt there might be some who would have an upgrade.

Seth shrugged his shoulders and noticed that the fog surrounding him had dissipated.

Looking around, he was standing in a vast clearing with either damaged or destroyed buildings around him, he turned around and noticed the largest building in the distance which seem like it would collapse at any time.

[Building Name: Lord's Mansion]

[Level: undetermined due to damage]

[Repair cost: 5000 stones, 5000 iron ores, 5000 wood]

[Upgrade Cost: 10,000 stones, 10,000 iron ores, 10,000 wood]

"Like I thought..." Seth muttered and decided to approach the mansion.

As he walked closer, he noticed the altar just surrounded by walls. On the altar was a swirling blue light.

[Building name: Troop Summoning Altar]

[Level: 1]

[Upgrade Cost: Upgrade your Lord's mansion]

"It excluded wood, hmm?" Seth thought to himself before he received a second prompt.

[Choose your base troop type]

[Your base troop type would determine your future, choose wisely]

[But you can integrate from other sources or if you receive a troop type certificate]

[Infantry: The foundation of every army: disciplined foot soldiers who hold the line, form walls of steel, and carry the weight of war on their shoulders.]

[Ranged Line: Masters of distance combat, from bows to siege crossbows, raining death from afar and breaking enemy morale before blades ever clash.]

[Cavalry Line: Swift and devastating mounted warriors, ranging from light scouts to armored knights and beast riders, who dominate battlefields through speed and shock.]

[Magic Troops: Wielders of the arcane and divine, their spells heal allies, shatter armies, or raise the dead—turning battles with powers beyond mortal steel.]

[Specialist Troops: Unique units that rely on cunning, skill, or craft—scouts, assassins, and engineers—whose precision and versatility shape wars in unseen ways.]

[Hybrid Troops: Rare, elite forces that transcend ordinary soldiers, from beast titans to immortal monks, embodying faith, legend, or sheer otherworldly might.]

Seth stared at the options with a pensive look, he did not know which one he should pick. Seeing their descriptions they were all good.

"I would go with the basic first, infantry..."

As soon as he chose the option, he received a prompt.

[You have to repair your mansion before you can summon troops]

Seeing this prompt, Seth immediately looked at his mansion and decided to repair his mansion.

He watched as the costs were deducted from his resources, before looking towards the broken mansion that got enveloped in golden light for a while before the light faded and the mansion became as grand as new.

Seeing this, Seth's eyes gleamed as he stared at it, ignoring the prompt he walked into his mansion to look at what it looked like.

Walking in, he came to face to face with the wide living room, a couple of sofas sat in the middle, a beautiful chandelier hung from above. At the end of the living room were two wide-spaced stairways leading to the second floor.

Between the stairways was a door which led into a dojo, which sophisticated weapons of many kinds and even wooden weapons of different kinds.

The door on the sides of the living room led to the kitchen and a study room which had shelves of books.

Seth stood ther stunned as he took in what he was seeing, he placed his hand on his chest and felt his racing heartbeat.

"So, this is real, hmm?"

He was just coming to terms at the fact that whatever he was experiencing was real, he looked down at himself, he was still wearing the clothes he had on when he had left his graduation ceremony, a black shirt, black trousers and a pair of boots.

Looking at the prompt he had ignored.

[Congratulations on repairing your castle]

[Due to being the only lord to have chosen the repair function, you have been awarded a free upgrade of any building of your choice, four thousand worth of resources and a bronze treasure chest]

[Building name: Lord's mansion]

[Level: 1]

[Upgrade Cost: 20,000 stones, 20, 000 iron ores, 20,000 wood]

"huh?..."
