Have you ever wondered how we were born…
How Beings like us came to exist…?
Everyone knows the story…But even then…Not everything is known…Its just speculation really…
Scientists say that it was a mutation in our dna…
Others say it was a gift from the three Uma godesses themselves…
No one knows for sure…
…Sorry…How ignorant of me…I forgot to explain the whole reason in even pondering this question…
You see…I…am an Umanoshonen…
In English …thats translated to Horse Boy or something along the lines…
Im considered a rarity around the world…
Uma's like me are practically one in a million…
The average birth rate for Umanoshonens are in the 25 percent range…And thats IF both parents are uma's in general.
The average rate is probably around 10 percent.
Compared to tge Umamusume rate of. 50 to 75 percent it's practically like winning the lottery for a million dollar jackpot…
So unless your husband was also an umanoshonen its practically a 1 in 10 chance you'll get an Uma boy instead of a girl.
Obviously you arent here for the science of it all…so…Lets take it from the top…
Hundreds upon hundreds of years ago…there were three goddesses…
These Three divine beings are said to be the origin of all Umamusume…Emphasis on Umamusume…
If not for them…the idea of an Umamusme wouldnt have even crossed peoples mind.
Umamusume were essentially a gift given to humanity… A reward to allow a child of life to fulfill there dreams by giving them the strength to run towards their goals. To make there dreams a reality…
But…There was a fine print to this whole deal.
They gave the ability to CHASE there dreams…Not catch them…
The goddesses…Even though they meant well. Were unable to allow them to reach their goals. All they could do was help speed up the process in HOPES they were able to reach there dreams…
Even with there divine power…They just couldnt think of anything that was capable to garantee the dreams of their creations could come true…
Until one day…4 beings showed up…
And here's where my kind come in…
Those 4 beings…Were The 4 Gods of the apocalypse…
Some legends state that they were the first Umanoshonen…Others say they helped give the goddess's the idea to create my kind…
No one knows for sure…
Now you may be wondering… Who were these For Uma gods…?
Well…Its a bit tricky…
There origins are mostly unknown…there names forgotten by history… But there roles have been talked about for a while now…the usual ones are…
The One that comforts the end of life…The Uma god of death…
The One that Seeks the eternal battle…The Uma God of war…
The One that Thrives in Victory…The Uma God of Conquest…
And the One that Wades through Sickness…The Uma God of Famine…
It is said that when these four gods came that they would bring the end of world as we knew it…
Obviously…That never happened…if it did i wouldnt be talking now would I?
But as the story goes…
It is said these four gods cane to the goddesses to help with there dilemma…
And so…They made a deal…
They would offer the ability for Umamusume to reach there dreams.
And in exchange…?
Allow them to create life of there own…but with a caveat…
In exchange for the ability to finally reach the end of there dream they asked to create a sibling species to the Umamusume…
The Umanoshonen…
The goddesses…Seeing the exchange as perfectly reasonable, allowed the 4 gods to create the new species…
But…There was something else…A monkeys paw if you will…
In exchange for allowing the Umamusume and newly created Umanoshonen to chase and catch there dreams…
They also gave them the gift…Of the END of their dreams…
And you may be wondering what i mean…
You see…Not everyone is capable of reaching out for their dream…
Some unfortunately give up before they couldnt reach it due to the cards stacked against them…
Some are forced to quit due to unfortunate circumstances like diseases or career ending injuries…
Hell…Some quit cause they just didnt have the urge to run anymore…
And some…Well…"Accidents" can happen…
The Uma Goddesses, clearly enraged by this sudden monkeys paw. Pushed there anger to the four gods demanding for the reasons they brought these curses to their children…
And in response? A simple sentence…
"Whenever something is born…There must be an end…Nothing remains forever…Not even you…"
After that…They were never seen again…
And because of that little kerfuffule…Left my kind to deal with the aftermath…
One of these little "punishments" are…
the lack of my kind in the world…
Seen as signs of bad omens…
And finally…
Unable to dream for ourselves…Our opportunities always taken away from our grasp…
Obviously this is all just speculation so we dont exactly know the full story…
That…And time is a cruel and inconvenient mistress…
Things change…Its the way of life…
Obviously my kind nowadays are less a curse and more of a curious oddity around the world…
And in a society were Umamusume's are preferred over Umanoshonen (at least in the derby side of things.). Its a bit depressing knowing we cant run along side our sister species in the race that we call life.
Not saying its racism or anything. Its just that people have preferences…and its tied to cutesy Uma's. Not saying its a bad thing of course people like what they like. Like i said Its more of the fact that theres just more Umamusume compared to umanoshonen.
It is still a bit sad though…knowing that we cant run with other uma's for the sole fact thats there just not enough Umanoshonen…
There are exceptions to the rules of course but there few and far between.
Fortunately for me I was one of those exceptions…
WAS being the keyword here…
Nowadays im happily retired with a family i love…
A loving wife and Twins by the way…And i would gladly give my life for them…
Of course…Nothing ever goes according to plan…
Life always has a way of lighting a fire under your ass…
No ones every TRULY retired after all…
So cmon…Lets see how far we can take this…
You only got one life to live after all! So why not give it yer all!
