Chapter 174 - Chapter 23: An Unwanted Guest

If Shiki had also mastered Sun Breathing, his stamina would have recovered faster than Garp's or Sengoku's.

And the outcome of that battle might have changed entirely.

In the world of One Piece, whether it was Devil Fruit abilities or Haki, everything depended on stamina.

Whoever recovered faster could remain at peak condition longer.

In a prolonged battle, that advantage was decisive.

Shiki wasn't the only example.

There was another.

Barloric Ledfield.

The great pirate known as the "Solitary Red" and the "Red Count."

A man who could stand on equal footing with Roger and Whitebeard on his own.

He had even defeated the former Fleet Admiral, Kong.

In the end, he lost to Garp in a war of attrition and was imprisoned in Impel Down.

If Ledfield had known Sun Breathing, he could have maintained his stamina throughout the fight.

He might have exhausted Garp instead.

Or even defeated him.

Rather than being captured and sealed away.

Of course, that was only Emiya's speculation.

He didn't know whether Sun Breathing entering the One Piece world would truly rewrite those outcomes.

But it was worth trying.

After all, traveling to that world was effortless for him.

Boom!

Emiya's thoughts were interrupted.

Gyutaro seized the opening.

Noticing Emiya's distraction, he launched a reckless, suicidal assault, attacking wildly.

At the same time, Daki didn't attack.

She turned and fled.

They were twins.

As long as one survived, the other could regenerate.

Gyutaro was buying time for his sister to escape.

Sun Breathing, Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow.

Emiya vanished to the side.

Gyutaro's attack missed completely.

In just a few breaths, Emiya caught up to Daki and swung his blade.

Sun Breathing, First Form: Dance.

Pffft.

The Nichirin Sword passed cleanly through her neck.

Daki's head flew off.

Her headless body ran forward several steps before realizing what had happened.

Then it turned back to retrieve its head.

Gyutaro went berserk.

"I'll kill you! I'll kill you!"

He would never allow anyone to harm his sister.

But Emiya blocked every attack with ease.

Clang after clang rang out.

Gyutaro gained nothing.

At that moment, Emiya's Observation Haki caught something else.

Another demon.

Rushing toward the Kyogoku House at terrifying speed.

Seconds later-

Boom!

The wall shattered.

A demon overflowing with murderous intent burst inside.

Emiya sliced Gyutaro away with a casual swing and turned.

Pink hair.

Golden eyes.

Pale skin.

Deep blue tattoos etched across his body like marks of sin.

Blood-red nails.

A purple short-sleeved kimono.

Prayer beads hanging from his ankles.

Upper Rank Three.

Akaza.

After hours of fighting Gyutaro, it seemed Muzan Kibutsuji had finally taken notice.

And sent his battle-hungry hound.

Akaza's gaze locked onto Emiya.

"Are you the strong one?"

His expression was strange.

"Your fighting spirit is... mediocre."

Emiya understood.

Akaza's "fighting spirit" wasn't the abstract concept used in fantasy novels.

It was a tangible martial aura.

Akaza fought barehanded.

After becoming a demon, he had slaughtered countless Hashira.

Through endless battles, he had forged an overwhelming fighting spirit.

An aura that erupted when his emotions surpassed their limits.

Gyutaro wasn't surprised to see Akaza.

He felt relieved.

"This guy's strong!" Gyutaro shouted.

"Let's kill him together, quickly!"

"Shut up," Akaza snapped.

His eyes never left Emiya.

"Leave him to me. I only fight strong opponents."

Emiya didn't object.

He lowered the tip of his sword.

"Let me ask one thing," he said calmly.

"Besides you, did anyone else come to support Upper Rank Six?"

Akaza's killing intent surged.

"I'm enough. There's no need for other Upper Ranks."

Emiya sighed softly.

"Tsk. What a waste."

"I was hoping to wipe you all out."

"But I only managed to lure out an Upper Rank Three."

Gyutaro froze.

Akaza felt insulted.

His killing intent exploded outward.

A twelve-pointed snowflake pattern spread beneath his feet.

His Technique activated.

"What arrogance," Akaza snarled.

"Die!"

In the next instant, he was in front of Emiya.

A storm of blows followed.

Destructive Kill: Compass Needle!

Emiya calmly discarded his Nichirin Sword.

Everyone watching went rigid.

Pitch-black Armament Haki coated his fists.

He threw a punch.

Fish-Man Karate: Arabesque Tile Full Punch!

A 360-degree shockwave erupted.

Akaza's Blood Demon Art shattered instantly.

Before Akaza could react, the punch slammed into his face.

Boom!

His face caved in.

He flew backward like a cannonball, crashing into Gyutaro.

With a thunderous roar, the two tore through multiple buildings, bursting out of the Kyogoku House and skidding across the street.

Hidden nearby, the Sound Hashira and his three wives were stunned.

No one had expected this.

After discarding his Nichirin Sword, Emiya was even more terrifying.

It defied common sense.

"Lord Emiya... that punch was flamboyant," Tengen Uzui said, blood surging.

His Sound Breathing, derived from Thunder Breathing and combined with explosives, was destructive.

Even so, it fell short of that blow.

Unbelievable.

Emiya didn't pause.

He rushed out of the Kyogoku House.

He wouldn't let the two Upper Ranks escape.

But Akaza didn't flee.

Instead, he laughed.

He stood up, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth.

The punch had rattled his brain.

And ignited him.

"You're strong," Akaza said excitedly.

"And I love fighting strong opponents."

He charged again.

Destructive Kill: Chaotic Form!

Emiya met him head-on.

Observation Haki tracked every movement.

Armament Haki covered his fists.

Fish-Man Karate: Three Thousand Tile Full Punch!

A blow capable of shattering three thousand roof tiles collided with Akaza's Technique.

It wasn't a contest.

It was a beatdown.

Akaza's Blood Demon Art was impressive.

But against Emiya's raw power, it was overwhelmed.

Just like before, Emiya's punch shattered the Technique and slammed into Akaza.

The power erupted.

Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang.

Akaza's head was blown off.

For a human, that would be death.

For Akaza, it meant nothing.

A new head regenerated almost instantly.

"You should've used your sword," Akaza laughed.

"A punch can't kill me."

Emiya rolled his eyes.

Even with a sword, killing Akaza wasn't guaranteed.

Akaza's willpower was monstrous.

Ordinary demons died when decapitated by a Nichirin Sword.

That was their limit.

But demons with overwhelming will could break that limit.

They could regenerate even after decapitation.

Only three demons had done it.

Muzan Kibutsuji.

Kokushibo.

Akaza.

That was why Emiya had abandoned the sword.

He knew it wouldn't be decisive.

Meanwhile, Gyutaro was completely shaken.

He had believed Emiya was roughly his equal.

Now he understood.

Emiya hadn't been serious at all.

He had been playing.

"Damn it!"

Humiliation flooded Gyutaro.

He sprang up and attacked wildly.

Blood Demon Art: Flying Blood Sickles!

In the next instant-

A punch smashed into his head.

Gyutaro was sent flying, crashing through a building.

The attacker wasn't Emiya.

It was Akaza.

Gyutaro staggered to his feet, staring in disbelief.

"Are you insane?"

Akaza glared at him coldly.

"Don't interfere with my fight."

Gyutaro recoiled.

"Are you trying to disobey Lord Muzan's orders?"

Akaza fell silent.

When Emiya heard that exchange, he lost interest.

He had confirmed what he needed.

Only Akaza had come.

No other Upper Rank would appear.

There was no reason to continue.
