Chapter 168 - Chapter 17: The Appointment

At five in the afternoon, Miu Furinji finished her gymnastics training and returned to Ryōzanpaku.

The moment she stepped inside, she froze.

Her grandfather and the other masters were all buried in books.

Studying seriously.

Even Apachai was included.

That shocked her.

Since when did these people enjoy studying?

"Hey, Miu."

Someone called her name.

She turned her head and saw a familiar but unexpected face.

"Emiya-san? When did you get here?"

"I arrived this afternoon," Emiya said. "What surprises me more is that you've already learned Nen."

In Emiya's eyes, Miu Furinji's aura was unmistakable.

She had definitely learned Nen.

What surprised him even more, though, was the ordinary-looking high school boy standing beside her.

That boy was none other than Kenichi Shirahama.

The protagonist of this world.

Miu Furinji's future husband.

Miu snapped back to herself and pushed Kenichi forward.

"Let me introduce you. This is my classmate, and the disciple who joined Ryōzanpaku recently."

"Kenichi Shirahama."

Kenichi saw how respectfully Miu treated Emiya and immediately bowed deeply.

"My name is Kenichi Shirahama. It's an honor to meet you."

Emiya waved his hand.

"You can stand up."

Only then did Kenichi straighten his back.

He looked at Miu and whispered cautiously.

"Um... Miu, who is he?"

Miu introduced him properly.

"This is Emiya-san. Our benefactor."

Emiya shook his head.

"I wouldn't say that."

"I didn't really help you."

"Strictly speaking, I'm your creditor."

"Or your boss."

Kenichi froze.

Miu didn't bother reacting to his expression.

Instead, she asked, "Emiya-san, what's going on with my grandfather and the others?"

"I brought some special breathing methods," Emiya replied. "I'm having them study them to see if they can be combined into something stronger."

Miu immediately understood.

"I see."

Kenichi, on the other hand, looked lost.

"Breathing methods?"

Miu turned and began explaining.

Of course, she explained the breathing techniques of this world.

Not the ones from the Demon Slayer world.

Emiya didn't stop her.

When she read them herself later, she would naturally realize the difference.

That evening, Emiya went to the Kikaro Restaurant.

He brought Erina Nakiri and Hisako Arato back to Ryōzanpaku.

They prepared a lavish dinner for the masters.

Afterward, he sent them back.

It was Kenichi's first time eating Erina's cooking.

He was so moved that he declared loudly, "Just being able to eat something like this makes life worth it!"

Miu smiled.

A very fake smile.

"So my cooking isn't delicious at all, Kenichi?"

Kenichi panicked instantly.

"No, no, no!"

"Miu's cooking is absolutely delicious!"

"I'm extremely happy to eat your cooking every day!"

Emiya couldn't help but chuckle.

In the real world, someone like Kenichi would be a simp who got nothing.

But in this world?

Kenichi got everything.

Miu Furinji.

A happy family.

Even a cute daughter.

Thinking about it, Emiya suddenly felt that his food wasn't as delicious anymore.

The next morning, the masters of Ryōzanpaku began moving.

They went to find old friends.

Brothers-in-arms.

Former comrades.

Hayato Furinji went to contact Mikumo Kushinada.

Just as Yomi knew where Ryōzanpaku was, Ryōzanpaku also knew several of Yomi's strongholds.

The two sides had restrained themselves.

No all-out war.

But friction had never stopped.

Hayato Furinji's method was simple.

He found a Yomi stronghold.

Destroyed it.

Beat everyone there.

Then grabbed the leader.

"I want to talk to the Fist Demoness."

"Mikumo Kushinada."

The leader was hopeless.

But under Hayato Furinji's pressure, he made the call.

That call went up the chain.

And soon, it reached the top.

"Hayato Furinji," a calm voice said. "You're looking for me?"

"I want to meet you."

"Alone."

Mikumo Kushinada didn't hesitate.

"I don't know what you're planning, but I agree."

"Time and place."

"The sooner, the better. You choose."

She chuckled softly.

"So bold. As expected of the Invincible Superman."

"Then I won't be polite."

"Tomorrow."

"On a red cruise ship at sea."

"I'll send you the coordinates."

"No problem," Hayato Furinji replied.

"I'll be waiting," she said, and hung up.

Hayato Furinji sighed and looked down at the trembling leader.

He hesitated.

Then knocked him out.

And called the police.

Provocation or not, he couldn't let the man go.

That evening, everyone gathered to report.

Ma Kensei had gone to Yokohama Chinatown.

He was asking about his brother.

Shio Sakaki had sent word to the Fist God through official channels.

If the message reached him, he would respond.

Akisame Kōetsuji had contacted several other masters.

Some had already given clear answers.

Hayato Furinji explained what happened.

Emiya asked, "How is she planning to send you the location?"

Hayato Furinji opened his mouth.

Whoosh.

Something tore through the air.

An arrow slammed into a pillar.

A piece of paper was tied to it.

Hayato Furinji pulled it out.

Coordinates.

Emiya's mouth twitched.

"An arrow letter."

"That's... old-fashioned."

He had expected a call.

A fax.

Someone showing up.

Not this.

Yomi really did things their own way.

Still, they had the location.

"I'll go with you tomorrow," Emiya said.

Hayato Furinji nodded.

The next morning, they set off.

They had already checked the coordinates.

Tokyo Bay.

Near a small offshore island.

Originally, Emiya planned to fly.

But that would be too conspicuous.

So they took a speedboat instead.

At the destination, a massive red cruise ship awaited them.

A ladder dropped.

They climbed aboard.

Several Yomi members in suits greeted them.

"Please follow us, Invincible Superman."

"Lady Fist Demoness has been waiting in the restaurant."

They walked across the deck.

The restaurant was empty.

Except for one woman.

Long hair.

Loose shrine maiden robes.

Buddhist beads around her neck.

She was eating steak.

She looked about twenty.

In reality, she was an old monster.

Ma Kensei and Silquard Jounasaad were children in her eyes.

She was at least as old as Hayato Furinji.

At least ninety.

The Kushinada Style Jujutsu had researched immortality for generations.

She had her methods.

It was absurd.

"It's been a while, Hayato," Mikumo Kushinada said.

She put down her knife and fork.

"So."

"Why did you suddenly come to see me?"

"If you're trying to pull me out of Yomi, don't bother."

Hayato Furinji sat across from her.

He smiled bitterly.

"Actually, the one who wants to see you isn't me."

Mikumo Kushinada paused.

Her gaze shifted.

To Emiya.

Besides her and Hayato Furinji-

He was the only one left.
