Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 — Twisted Way

The wind howled through the ruins of the shattered valley. The Void had sunk behind clouds of ash, turning the battlefield into a gray wasteland where even light seemed afraid to shine. In the middle of that emptiness stood Aijack and Nijack, two figures carved out of opposing forces — one blazing with calm radiance, the other cloaked in a darkness so deep it bent the air around him.

For a moment, neither spoke. The silence stretched thin, almost sacred, like the last breath before a storm.

Aijack's voice broke the quiet."You still don't understand, Nijack. This world doesn't belong to your hatred."

Nijack tilted his head, smirking, his crimson eyes gleaming like a predator's."Hatred?" he said softly. "No, Aijack… this world belongs to whoever's strong enough to take it."

His words came out like a hiss, and as they hit the air, the temperature seemed to drop. The earth shivered under his feet. Cracks ran across the ground as his aura flared — black fire swirling like a vortex of shadows.

Aijack sighed, his expression steady, though a quiet sadness flickered in his golden eyes. "Then I'll just have to stop you again."

"Stop me?" Nijack laughed — sharp, wild, echoing. "You can try."

The moment the last syllable left his lips, the world exploded.

Oban and Klien barely had time to react. One heartbeat they were watching the two stand motionless — the next, a thunderclap split the air and both warriors vanished from sight. A pressure wave rolled across the plain, flattening everything around them. The stone floor fractured like thin glass.

"W–what just—?!" Klien gasped, his cloak whipping violently in the wind."They're moving," Oban said, eyes wide. "But… I can't see them!"

Aijack and Nijack's battle had transcended visibility. Their movements were faster than light flickers — just bursts of shockwaves and blinding flashes tearing through the fog. The sound of clashing power echoed like continuous thunder.

To Oban and Klien, it was chaos. But to those who could feel it, it was something far greater — two entities, neither mortal nor divine, fighting for something deeper than victory.

Aijack's golden aura burned bright, illuminating the darkness. The runes etched along his arms and neck pulsed with ancient power, forming trails of light wherever he moved. Every strike he threw sent ripples through the air, his energy singing like a celestial storm.

Nijack, on the other hand, was the embodiment of void. His attacks bent Light itself. Blades of pure shadow extended from his limbs, each swing cutting the very fabric of reality. Around him, distortions shimmered, swallowing color and sound like an endless abyss.

They clashed mid-air.Boom!Golden light and black void collided, forming a storm that shattered the horizon. Fragments of reality splintered like shards of glass, spinning outward as the two vanished again, reappearing only in flashes — a knee here, a punch there, a blur of motion no human eye could ever trace.

Oban clenched his fists. "I can feel them! Their power—it's like two Demons are fighting!"Klien nodded, jaw tight. "No… this is beyond . This is destruction itself."

Aijack darted forward again, his movement producing streaks of gold across the air. His fists moved faster than sound, glowing brighter with every impact. Nijack twisted backward, letting the strikes pass within millimeters, countering with a sweep that cracked the ground open.

Each hit released a burst of force that sent massive chunks of debris spiraling into the sky. Thunder rolled overhead, clouds spiraling like a maelstrom responding to their fury.

Then Aijack changed stance. His body shimmered, and strange patterns of light formed under his feet. He pressed his palms together, whispering an incantation too ancient to understand.

Golden chains burst from the ground, spiraling upward, trying to bind Nijack.

But Nijack just grinned. "You think light can hold the void?"

He raised his hand, and his shadow extended, wrapping around him like armor. The chains melted away on contact, absorbed into the darkness. Then, with a flick of his wrist, Nijack sent a black shockwave that ripped through mountains in the distance.

Aijack barely dodged, the wave grazing his shoulder, tearing through his armor. Blood splattered across the ground — but he didn't stop. He rushed back in, eyes glowing white with determination.

Their fists met again, the impact creating a ring of light and shadow expanding outward for miles.

Oban staggered back, shielding his eyes. "I—I can't take this pressure!"Klien steadied him, staring ahead. "They're… beyond us now."

The ground beneath them began to collapse, the sheer energy of the fight tearing the world apart. Floating rocks rose around them, suspended by raw power.

Then — silence.

For one instant, everything froze.

In that stillness, Aijack appeared behind Nijack, golden light forming into a blade in his hand — pure energy condensed into divine form. With one clean motion, he slashed.

Nijack's eyes widened as the blade struck his chest. A massive shockwave erupted, throwing dust and energy skyward. When it cleared, Nijack lay broken, motionless, his shadow aura fading like smoke.

Oban's mouth dropped open.Klien exhaled, trembling. "He… he did it?"

Aijack stood tall amidst the fading golden light, his expression calm but weary. He lowered his arm, the glowing blade dissolving into nothing.

Oban grinned. "Wow… that was amazing! Mr. Aijack, you made it look easy!"Klien nodded eagerly. "Yeah! That power—unbelievable!"

Aijack turned to them slowly, a faint smile forming at the edge of his lips. "It's over," he said quietly. "We can finally—"

Shhhhk!

The sound pierced the air — sharp, wet, final.

Aijack's words cut off. His eyes widened slightly. He looked down.

A dark blade protruded from his chest, black veins spreading across his armor where the steel met flesh.

Behind him… stood Nijack.Alive. Smiling.

His voice was a whisper, yet it carried through the dead silence."You should never… turn your back on the void."

Blood dripped from the blade, sizzling as it hit the ground. Aijack's knees buckled. His glowing eyes dimmed.

"Mr. Aijack!!!" Oban's scream shattered the still air, his voice trembling with terror.Klien rushed forward, frozen between disbelief and rage.

Aijack's hand twitched, trying to reach the blade, but his strength failed. He fell forward, collapsing into the dust, golden energy flickering weakly around him like dying embers.

Nijack withdrew the blade, letting Aijack fall. He looked at Oban and Klien with that same cruel smirk, his eyes now glowing brighter than before. "Now," he said, his tone low and cold, "it's your turn."

The wind stopped. Time seemed to halt. Only Aijack's blood moved — pooling slowly on the cracked stone.

Oban took a trembling step forward, tears forming in his eyes. "No… Mr. Aijack…"

The world darkened around them, swallowed by Nijack's shadow.

And the scene faded to black.

To be continued…
