Chapter 1 - the birth of the omegas

Prologue: birth of the omegas

In a world so vast that it defies the concept of infinity, distance holds no meaning. Once lost in this realm, one can never be found—not even their dust. This world teems with beasts, ranging from C-class to S-class, but there is only one S+-class creature, known as the Leviathan, the father of all beasts, the Son of the First Mother, and the harbinger of calamity.

On this day, four children are born simultaneously. Instead of chirping, the birds sing a melody long forgotten by time, while the beasts roar so fiercely that it rattles the very fabric of the world. Driven mad by the simultaneous births, every single beast rampages, destroying everything in their path.

Among the children stood one with hair of gold streaked with white and eyes of mismatched brilliance—the right gleaming gold, the left burning red. With her final breath, his mother whispered a single name—Arthur. Moments later, the physician announced solemnly, "Her Majesty Elizabeth Starlight, Queen of Aurelith, has passed."

Another child was born with hair as white as snow and eyes of sapphire-grey. He came into the world within the Whispering Deathwoods, only to be discovered by a kind-hearted aristocrat. "Who would abandon a child in such a cursed forest?" he muttered, lifting the boy into his arms. "Very well, I shall adopt you. Your name… yes, Vanitar Grimstone."

Not long after, a C-class realm beast—one said to be strong enough to rend the very fabric of reality—wandered into their path. The encounter was a mere chance, yet the beast did not strike. Instead, it lowered its massive head before the child, and in an instant, its body collapsed inward, imploding upon itself.

Elsewhere, a girl was born with hair streaked in grey and white, and eyes as bright as the endless sky. Her first cries echoed through the elven village of Clockwork, where gears turned in harmony with the passage of time itself. The villagers gathered in wonder, for never before had a child's birth made the ancient bells chime of their own accord. Gazing upon her radiant eyes, her mother whispered with awe, "She is beautiful… Nyriel Clepsydra. That shall be her name." And in that moment, the winds shifted, as though even time itself paused to acknowledge her arrival.

Then the last child was born—a girl with hair so vividly red it seemed to outshine the sun itself, and eyes of molten amber that burned with an unyielding light. She was a half-elf, the bridge between two worlds. Her father rushed into the chamber, breathless, his voice breaking with fear and hope. "Where is she? Is she safe? Where is my newborn child? Where is Elanor?"

His words faltered as his gaze fell upon the mother and child. Slowly, he stepped forward, cradling the tiny girl in his arms. The fire of her hair reflected in his tear-brimmed eyes as he whispered, voice trembling with joy, "Elanor Sunshine." And at that name, dawn broke across the horizon, brighter than any before, as if the heavens themselves rejoiced.

Four beings beyond comprehension lounged on a sofa, their eyes fixed on a flickering television.

One leaned forward, grinning. "At last… the Omegas have arrived."

Another stretched and stood. "Cool. Anyway, I've got work to do."

Before he could vanish, the first grabbed his arm. "What? You just got here! Sit down. We've been waiting eons—billions of eons—for this moment!"

The second snorted. "Yeah, well, unlike you, I don't send clones to do my job while I binge cosmic soap operas."

The third pointed with a smirk. "He's got a point. You're basically the laziest god in existence."

The fourth, deadpan, didn't even look away from the screen. "Confirmed. Laziness level: catastrophic."

The first threw up his hands. "Fine, fine! I'll go. But I swear, if they do something epic while we're gone, I'm blaming all of you."

The first being suddenly paused, turning his head toward the reader.

"Hey. Welcome to the world of Aethernia."

And just like that, he vanished.
