Chapter 3 - The Important Person Who Opens a New Era

"This is Earth… a bit different here and there, but still Earth!"

Muttering that under his breath, Logan Crane felt a surge of feeling.

In his previous life he had been an Earthling; in this life he had crossed over to become a Saiyan; later he had spent twenty-five years on that doomsday planet. And yet Earth was still the homeland rooted deep in his belief.

First impressions rule!

Even if the two worlds' Earths weren't the same, there would be similarities more or less.

Open your arms to welcome this world—this Earth—and blend into it.

For him, the road ahead was wide open.

After breathing his fill of fresh air, Logan flashed across mountains, rivers, and seas.

He not only took in the face of this world, he also saw the living creatures of this Earth.

Some were familiar to him, some unfamiliar, and some were animals that had long gone extinct on the Earth of his previous life—dinosaurs of all kinds, saber-toothed tigers, and other ancient beasts.

Only when he had raced for hundreds of li over the ocean, throwing up towering waves, did Logan abruptly stop that wild venting.

Not for any other reason—the scouter on his right eye gave off an alarm.

This too was part of the stores from that Frieza Force advance scout's spaceship he had seized three months ago.

He wasn't afraid of being discovered. Even though this thing had an interstellar call function, it had huge flaws.

First: there was no identity-authentication function. Unless you logged into a personal registered account, you could only share the channel. So even if you used someone else's scouter, as long as you didn't log in, other people wouldn't latch onto you, much less know who you were. Anyone could use one just by carrying it.

Second: how vast is the universe? A single galaxy is already immeasurably huge. As long as the distance is far enough, you'll be directly ignored. Ask yourself: within the range there are countless scouters—why would anyone pay attention to this one little device?

Spaceships were the same kind of example.

Although they had serial numbers, in practice, as long as you weren't a tagged, specially watched target, no one would pay special attention.

On this point, back then Logan had already done careful guessing and analysis.

Unless you actively reached out to contact someone, no one would actively track you down.

When he first reached that Planet V3114, although the spaceship was damaged and couldn't make interstellar flight, the internal communications still held on for ten years before finally failing, and there was the scouter besides…

He had received the news that Planet Vegeta was destroyed.

At the time he worried for a long while: would the Frieza Force come to kill him and remove future trouble? That made him all the more unwilling to take the initiative to contact anyone; he was terrified of exposing his movements.

That anxiety lasted a full year before it eased.

From this Logan more or less understood: even if the Frieza Force annihilated the Saiyan race and sent elite teams to kill Saiyans who were out in the field, as long as you could keep your head down and eke it out, you could escape the calamity of extermination.

When it came down to it, how many Saiyan infants had been dispatched outward in the original story?

The number probably wasn't in the hundreds of thousands or the millions, but it definitely exceeded ten thousand!

And the Saiyans who later survived—on the surface, there were only that handful.

Maybe there were some still in the universe, but absolutely not more than you could count on two hands.

Therefore it could be confirmed that Saiyans like him would either die in harsh environments, or be killed by hidden experts on the planet or by extremely lethal weapons, or else conquer a planet and report it in—and then be discovered by the Frieza Force and killed.

Those Frieza allowed to live were really only Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz.

As for Broly and Paragus who only appeared in later parts of the canon, and Vegeta's younger brother Tarble…

All of them were basically able to keep living on by keeping a low profile—only that way had they not been discovered and wiped out.

Otherwise, Broly should have stepped onto the stage earlier, while Tarble would have been doomed!

Logan did not believe Frieza could ever be so kind as to keep a "Prince Vegeta" as a dog and also keep a useless little prince around to toy with.

"Two thousand eight hundred kilometers to the southwest… there are several people with combat power over one thousand fighting?"

"Combat power 416…"

"Combat power 1330…"

"Combat power 1307…"

"Combat power 1500… wait, 1307 just dropped to 1??? 1500 dropped to 1345…"

"Hiss~~! Could it be…"

Logan's thoughts turned sharply. The scouter was a general-purpose piece of gear; even if the exact numbers could be off, the baseline it could display was real enough.

"Southwest, 2800 kilometers?"

"It should be that place!"

Raditz—the reason the original storyline got rolling!

This was absolutely a critical turning point for Logan.

He instantly locked onto the area by his sense of ki—directly using the flight speed he could control—and rushed over there.

Sonic booms kept bursting, as if they meant to shatter the very sky.

For him, Raditz was the door-knocker to the Z Fighters' circle!

How could he possibly let this pass?!

Even if he too was a Saiyan, he was still himself!

Seize this chance and save Goku—he would not only change the plot, he would join in.

Even if he didn't get on good terms with all the Z Fighters, he had come to Earth, and to this era. There were many people and things he could get in ahead of.

And to get in ahead of some people, he needed an absolutely perfect identity.

Just like the heroine Bulma—how could he let that go? How could he not get in first?

Logan was a realistic person. Before he ever transmigrated he had fantasized about what he would do after crossing over. Now that he had truly come to the Dragon Ball world and there were so many opportunities, strength was something he had to obtain, and women were also indispensable.

If it had been the Logan from three months ago, he truly wouldn't have held any hope for the future.

But heaven just loved to play jokes—three months ago it had sent down that Frieza Force soldier, and in doing so had made Logan what he was.

As for Vegeta, all he could say was that he was sorry!

No—

In this real world, since he had come, things could no longer be counted by the original work!

His life, what he wanted to do—why should he care about other people?!
