Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Touching the Extraordinary

He couldn't concentrate on the whole day's classes, and as soon as school was over, Xi Nian hurried back home.

But when he returned to the door of his house, he suddenly stopped again.

Could it be that something that has remained unchanged for more than ten years would change because of a photo from that old era?

This thought inexplicably flashed through his mind, making Xi Nian's heart suddenly tighten. He stood where he was, staring at the tightly closed and silent door.

About ten seconds.

The cold winter air continued to pour in from the stairs outside the door, and Xi Nian's palms holding the key were sweating. Just when he made up his mind to open the door, the door suddenly clicked open from the inside out.

A woman who looked flawless to any critical eye stood at the door.

She looked to be only about 28 years old, with her black hair combed and tied up, making her look very intellectual. Her face was delicate and flawless with light makeup. Her eyes were like the silhouette of the blue sky, and her black eyebrows with a hint of heroic spirit were slightly spread above her.

The woman wore a loose and fashionable white shirt and trousers, showing off her graceful and tall figure. What made people sincerely admire her was that she had the noble temperament of a queen, but also a natural and casual aura.

Noble and casual.

At this moment, these two completely different temperaments did not conflict with each other, but instead subtly and perfectly combined into one.

Xi Nian subconsciously called out to the woman in front of him: "Aunt."

"Come in."

Diana Prince did not ask Xinian why he was standing outside the door. Instead, she squatted slightly, drawing a perfect arc from the back of her neck to her lower hips, and took out a pair of home slippers from the shoe cabinet beside the door and placed them on the carpet in front of Xinian.

"Aunt, I..."

Xi Nian opened his mouth, feeling that he should not hide anything from the woman in front of him. This was something that had remained unchanged for sixteen years, but he just didn't know how to start telling the story for a moment.

"Let's have dinner first." Diana seemed to have noticed something, interrupted him, turned and walked into the living room.

Xi Nian suddenly felt a lot more relaxed. He put his schoolbag on the hook by the door, changed into slippers, and followed her into the living room.

The living room is lit with warm lights.

Two bowls of Italian noodles were steaming hot on the table, with beef sauce, chili oil, and boiled water on the side. Diana and Xi Nian, one big and one small, sat down and finished their dinner facing each other in silence.

"It's pasta again." Xi Nian looked at the very familiar meal, as if he had forgotten the previous heavy atmosphere, and muttered softly.

Unexpectedly, my aunt Diana across from me said with a cold face, "It's good enough that you have something to eat, how dare you ask for more."

"yes."

Xi Nian made a bitter face and quickly picked up the fork to finish his portion of colorful pasta.

My aunt is perfect both inside and out, but she doesn't have much talent for cooking, so the food tastes just as ordinary as always.

However, eating this now reminds Xi Nian of his childhood.

I remember that at that time, my aunt didn't know how to cook at all.

"Ahem."

Xi Nian ate too fast and choked accidentally. Diana, who was sitting in front of him and seemed to have been paying attention to him, immediately stood up, came over and patted him on the back gently: "Eat slowly." She then handed him her water cup.

Xi Nian took a big gulp of warm water, and his chest immediately felt much better.

So, he simply said in one go, "Auntie, someone delivered a photo to our house this morning."

As he spoke, Xi Nian placed the photo in his pocket on the table and talked about what happened at home in the morning.

Diana was not surprised and listened to his story quietly. However, when she saw the black and white photo, a slight ripple flashed in her eyes.

After Xi Nian finished explaining the process, Diana put the photos away, returned to her seat, and gently instructed, "I know who slipped the photos. I will handle this matter. You don't have to worry about this problem in the future."

"OK."

Xi Nian had no doubt that his aunt could handle everything. He just asked with pure concern and curiosity: "Aunt, the person wearing strange armor in the photo..."

"Since you want to know, I'll tell you."

Diana's cold face was solemn. After a moment's deliberation, she spoke seriously, "Yes, she is actually my grandmother. She passed away a long time ago. I heard that she helped the army fight against mysterious forces during World War I."

"Mysterious force? Could it be the legendary god?" Xinian opened his eyes wide in surprise. The most widely circulated rumor about the cause of World War I was that it was the God of War!

Diana shook her head and said, "Things in the past happened too long ago. I only heard my mother mention it when I was a child."

She paused and said, "But there are no gods in this world."

"That's right." Xi Nian nodded, feeling completely relieved.

Diana also breathed a sigh of relief.

"I have an appointment with a friend and I have to go out later. I may be back late." Diana said softly, picked up her water cup and took a sip, only to find that Xi Nian was staring at the water cup in her hand.

"What's wrong?" Diana put down the cup and asked curiously.

"It's okay, it's okay." Xi Nian shook his head. He just suddenly thought of a question.

I just used my aunt's water cup, and now my aunt used the cup again.

Isn't this an indirect kiss?

There was nothing wrong with kissing his aunt indirectly. When he was a child, Xi Nian and his aunt often bathed together. This was also the main reason why it was difficult for girls to attract Xi Nian's attention.

Just like when you were inspired by anime masterpieces like Fullmetal Alchemist and Code Geass, you will always feel bored when watching other anime works.

But now, the problem arises.

Will indirect kissing trigger the [Lord of the Dependents]?

Xi Nian couldn't help but think about it.

He hadn't tried out his superpowers yet, but he only knew the three prerequisites for activating [Lord of the Familiar]:

Need the opposite sex.

After close contact.

There is fluid exchange between them.

Xinian's aunt is naturally of the opposite sex, and a perfect one at that.

As for close contact, I wonder if the pat on the back just now counts?

The most important thing is liquid exchange. Even if there was an exchange just now, it was neutralized by the water in the cup.

So, it should be okay, right?

Xi Nian was absent-minded, thinking about this question until the end of the light meal in the evening.

"Don't wait for me, go to bed early at home." Diana used a tone like coaxing a child, which made Xi Nian feel a little bit amused and helpless. She replied: "I know, be careful outside. We don't have any resident superheroes in our city."

Currently, only New York City, Gotham City, and Metropolis, the three major economic capitals, have Iron Man, Batman, and Superman permanently stationed there, respectively, because they themselves live in the local area.

"Don't worry, I've always been lucky. But you, take good care of the house and don't run around." Diana blinked, gave him a reassuring smile, put on her winter high-heeled boots and walked out of the house.

The room fell into silence again.

Xi Nian looked at the closed door, feeling inexplicably empty in his heart, and began to recall the conversation just now.

"Has the incident with the photo really just passed like this?" Xi Nian murmured.

If the meaning behind the photo is really just to represent my aunt's grandmother, then what was the person who put it in the house thinking?

"This matter doesn't seem that simple." Xi Nian was cleaning up his tableware in a daze, but heard a crisp sound of something exploding.

Xi Nian was startled. When he came to his senses, he looked down and his pupils suddenly contracted.

The water cup in his hand shattered and exploded, as if it had experienced a violent force beyond its ability to withstand, and glass fragments clanged and scattered all over the ground.

"This cup? No, it's my body..."

There was not a single scratch on Xi Nian's palm. Instead, he felt that the power of his palm was stronger than ever before, and he had a feeling that he could crush and defeat everything.

Hallucination or delusion?

Xi Nian was stunned and looked at the metal knife and fork in his other hand. His fingers moved slightly, and the metal knife and fork bent and deformed quickly, visible to the naked eye.

There is also a clearly visible fingerprint indentation on the handle of the metal knife and fork.

Every gesture shows extraordinaryness!

"Huh?" Xi Nian was completely confused.
