"Alright." Dugu Yan nodded, taking out the wooden box containing the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud and carefully placing it on the table.
She reached out and lifted the lid. Inside lay a crystal-clear, deep blue triangular prism.
Palm-sized, it shimmered with azure light as if waves rippled inside it beneath sunlight, radiating strange spiritual fluctuations.
The blue glow flickered, dyeing the entire hall a pale azure.
"Quite pretty." Dugu Bo, seeing it for the first time, was the first to comment.
"Yan Yan, prick your finger and drip some blood on it." Yang Yunhai, who had thoroughly read the original records, spoke.
"Alright." Dugu Yan nodded, lightly biting her fingertip and moving it above the prism, letting a drop of blood fall.
Like ink sinking into a clear pond, the moment her blood touched it, it sank in without resistance. The blue light immediately turned scarlet, and in the next second, a faint suction force appeared, continuously drawing more blood from her fingertip.
"Seems it's acknowledged you." Yang Yunhai's eyes flickered.
At his words, Dugu Yan held her finger steady, allowing the suction to continue feeding the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud.
It didn't take long. In just a few blinks, a faint blue glow floated out, condensing into a hazy phantom in mid-air. Facing Dugu Yan, an ancient and indifferent voice drifted forth: "So many years have passed, at last I taste a drop of blood… a body capable of bearing the power of the sea."
Dugu Bo was startled. His heart skipped, and he quickly said, "Perhaps… we should stop. This Sea God feels strange to me. To talk of tasting blood… that's unsettling."
"Maybe we shouldn't go to Sea God Island at all. I'm not sure the High Priestess told Qian Daoliu the truth."
"This Sea God might well be an evil god."
Dugu Yan froze.
The phantom in the air halted for an instant, then flickered away, diving back into the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud and condensing into a single red speck.
'What the hell!' In the God Realm's hall, the Sea God choked on outrage.
He hurriedly waved his hand, altering the Shroud's preset tests originally designed against males.
Finally encountering a compatible inheritor—he couldn't afford to scare them off now.
"I heard the statue of the Sea God on Sea God Island is male." Chrysanthemum Douluo frowned, voicing his concern. "Yan Yan is a girl. What if this so-called Sea God uses the god trial to peep at her, or even pry into her memories? That would be disastrous."
"Yun, maybe we shouldn't…" Dugu Yan hesitated, instinctively withdrawing her finger.

"That shouldn't be the case." Yang Yunhai said thoughtfully. "The High Priestess of Sea God Island, Bo Saixi, is said to be a woman of breathtaking beauty. When Grandfather Qian told me to deliver a letter to her, his expression was a bit complicated. I think he once admired her."
'Grandfather, I can only help you this much.'
Chrysanthemum Douluo and Dugu Bo both exchanged a knowing glance—juicy gossip indeed.
'As if I'd resort to such things!' The Sea God grumbled silently. 'If I wanted women, I'd just elevate one of my priestesses directly, not go through all this trouble.'
Yang Yunhai lightly touched Dugu Yan's fingertip, healing the wound with life energy.
"Yan Yan, try channeling your soul power into it."
"Alright." Dugu Yan nodded and infused her soul power.
Immediately, brilliant azure light burst forth. As she poured in more soul power, the Shroud grew brighter, until it slowly floated up before her. Without warning, a beam of blue light shot straight into her brow.
Dugu Bo and the others frowned.
Dugu Yan's vision shifted. Before her stretched a vast, surging ocean beneath a boundless sky.
The Tianmeng Iceworm shivered as a terrifying spiritual force swept over, but forced itself to open its mental sea.
A flash of blue, and the probing intent disappeared.
"Hmm?" In the God Realm, the Sea God sat upright, shock in his eyes.
"A divine soul bone… and a 990,000-year spirit beast that sacrificed itself. But why does this spirit ring only carry spiritual power without cultivation?"
"Even with such a soul bone, her strength should've risen higher than this."
His face grew solemn. He watched Dugu Yan, her body engulfed in blue radiance, slowly floating as the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud spun steadily in her palm, each rotation amplifying her aura.
Especially at her neck, head, left arm, and left leg—precisely where her soul bones were.
"A torso bone… and this martial soul… Could this be the soul bone of a water-attributed dragon beast god?"
The Sea God was stunned. He hadn't fought in the ancient God War, but he knew many dragon gods had perished back then. That a corpse or two had fallen to the Douluo plane wasn't impossible.
'No wonder this girl's cultivation isn't high—the bone must've been passed down countless times. But its enhancement to her body and the god-level skills within are worth far more than raw cultivation.'

Dugu Bo gaped. "Is this a soul tool or a soul bone? How can it grant so many abilities?"
"Let's go outside and test it." Yang Yunhai stood.
"Yes." Dugu Yan nodded.
Together, they stepped onto the grass outside, where Dugu Yan demonstrated each ability one by one before the Shroud returned to her brow.
"This power is no weaker than a 100,000-year soul bone." Dugu Bo was amazed.
"Suddenly, I think maybe going to Sea God Island is worth it."
'Shameless!' In the God Realm, the Sea God muttered darkly, marking Dugu Bo as brazen.
Yang Yunhai nodded slightly. "Let's head back inside."
The group agreed and returned.
That night, after dinner, everyone retired to their rooms.
Yiner drifted out, her figure plainly visible even under the Sea God's gaze. If the God Realm had already noticed the rise of a new Child of Nature, then Yiner's existence could hardly be hidden. Better to be open than suspicious.
But the Myriad Demon King remained concealed when Dugu Yan was present.
"Another sacrificial beast?" The Sea God was stunned.
The next second, Yang Yunhai sat cross-legged, his body glowing gold, radiating waves of vitality.
"Child of Nature!" The Sea God was startled.
He'd sensed this being's birth once but never pinpointed its source. Even the Gods of Destruction and Life had only warned them not to provoke him.

"So, you've come to mock me?" Asura's gaze chilled.
"Of course not." The Sea God quickly explained. "The inheritor is the partner of the Child of Nature. The Angel God's high priest pointed them to Sea God Island. Clearly, ties run deep. Since the Child of Nature himself doesn't match me, his partner, with her water dragon martial soul, is more suitable. With her ascension, the Child of Nature gains another slot to bring family to the God Realm. That youth has more than one woman."
"As you see, he likely intends to ascend himself."
"Such a chance, I naturally thought to share with you, brother."
Asura's eyes softened slightly, though his tone stayed calm. "That youth's martial soul bears both life and lightning."
The Sea God froze, realizing suddenly.
"Brother, the God Realm spans many planes. We'll always find worthy successors in time." He forced a solemn tone.
"Leave." Asura replied with one word.
The Sea God slunk away.
'Why so harsh? It's not like I stole your candidate…'
