Chapter 110: Not Human At All

Kaguya was both shocked and furious, yet a chill rose from the bottom of her heart.

She could clearly sense that the person before her was indeed Hagoromo's descendant. Rotating in those eyes was precisely the Mangekyo—the advanced form of Sharingan. This should have been part of her bloodline power system, merely a subordinate ocular technique beneath Rinnegan.

But why?

Why would a human possessing her "inferior" power be strong to such a degree? Strong enough to make her, the Chakra Ancestor, unable to mount even a trace of effective resistance, subdued as easily as an infant.

What made her feel even more humiliated was that she could clearly feel she was still alive now purely because the opponent had deliberately held back.

The initiative of life and death was completely beyond her control.

This enormous disparity between bloodline recognition and actual strength made her question her own existence for the first time.

In Kaguya's memories, humans remained as weak and flawed as they'd been a thousand years ago.

They had short lifespans, meager strength, hearts filled with greed and fear.

Yet this existence before her... what exactly was going on?

That overwhelming power, those methods completely transcending the chakra system, those indifferent eyes viewing her as nothing—this absolutely couldn't be something a "human" could possess.

Or rather... was he not human at all?

"You seem to be thinking something disrespectful."

A cold voice came, pulling her back to reality from chaotic thoughts.

This was the first time she'd fallen into such a completely powerless situation. For a moment she didn't know how to respond.

Thinking carefully, Kaguya's long years were mostly spent sleeping in the seal. Her real experience communicating with people was pitifully scarce. Regarding adaptability and scheming, her thinking was probably less flexible than some elderly humans.

Seeing her silence, Yu spoke again, tone indifferent yet carrying oppression:

"Answer two questions for me."

"First, are all your clansmen like you... dependent on chakra?"

"Second, when will your main family's next batch arrive?"

Yu's voice was calm and cold. "Your answers will determine whether you next become cosmic dust or obtain limited freedom."

Kaguya's heart tightened.

This man was more terrifying than the main family clansmen—at least facing Isshiki, she hadn't been so utterly powerless.

She recalled her humble status within the Otsutsuki clan.

Following Isshiki to Earth to plant the God Tree, she was merely a subordinate ready to be sacrificed at any time.

Ambushing Isshiki and seizing the fruit was her only chance to survive.

She'd long tired of the Otsutsuki clan's cruel ways.

What choice to make couldn't be clearer.

Kaguya raised her head, complex emotions flashing across her pale face.

She paused slightly, as if weighing pros and cons, then slowly spoke in a cool tone:

"Dependent? No, you've misunderstood. Chakra is to us as breathing is to mortals—the source of life and power, not a choice. All Otsutsuki clansmen use this as foundation, only the forms and magnitudes... differ vastly."

She closed her eyes slightly as if recalling certain fragments and continued:

"As for the main family... they won't come easily. Isshiki's and my mission cycle spans a thousand years. Before the scheduled time arrives, they'll only assume we're still 'cultivating' the God Tree. But if we fail to deliver fruit by then, what descends... will be true adjudicators."

"Calculating from when Isshiki and I departed... it could be ten years, or perhaps over a hundred years later. Decades are meaningless to them."

Yu could sense Kaguya wasn't lying.

She seemed different from those killing-addicted clansmen—more like someone who'd chosen self-preservation from fear of the main family's judgment.

His hand suddenly reached toward Kaguya's chest.

Kaguya's entire body stiffened, fear instantly gripping her—had his questioning just been to confirm information before execution? She instinctively struggled. "You..."

Before she finished, Yu's fingertip lightly touched her chest, then released all restraints. Kaguya's body lightened, Byakugan showing some confusion.

She only heard him say indifferently, "I've left a mark within you. If you commit atrocities in the future, I'll return."

In truth, Yu had other considerations.

If truly needing to find the Otsutsuki main family in the future, this "Chakra Ancestor" might be an excellent guide.

Leaving a mark was merely for convenient positioning later.

After finishing with Kaguya, Yu's gaze swept toward Toneri observing from a distance.

Toneri was startled by this glance, his form freezing, yet Yu had already withdrawn his gaze.

From the earlier conversation, this guy's strength was mediocre and his nature wasn't greatly evil. No need to pay too much attention.

Space rippled as Yu's figure twisted, vanishing into the void in an instant.

Only after that suffocating oppressive feeling completely disappeared did Kaguya and Toneri barely breathe easier.

Kaguya raised her hand to press her chest, fingertips clearly sensing a slightly cool mark embedded beneath her skin like a death countdown.

This mark wasn't merely shackles—it revealed the existence of power she couldn't comprehend in the universe.

She'd thought consuming the fruit meant reaching the pinnacle, yet Yu's appearance had completely crushed all her pride.

How should the future path proceed?

A thought quietly surfaced:

Perhaps this man could become the variable against the main family?

Toneri's mind also shook.

He closed his eyes, yet that soul-freezing gaze still wouldn't fade.

He'd thought awakening Tenseigan meant bearing heaven's mandate, that protecting the moon's pure land was his mission. Yet what Yu displayed was absolute difference in life hierarchy. His past actions probably seemed like child's play in the other's eyes. Deep confusion surged up.

After a long while, Toneri spoke hoarsely. "That person... who exactly is he?" He turned to Kaguya, tone having shed hostility, leaving only fellow-sufferer's inquiry.

Kaguya slowly lowered her hand, complexity passing over her pale face. "I don't know. But he... may be an existence beyond our imagination."

She paused briefly, facing this descendant properly for the first time. "Perhaps he's someone who can change the Otsutsuki clan's cruel rules."

For her, remaining on Earth was the only choice. Fleeing into space—if captured by the main family, the outcome would only be worse than death.

Understanding this, Kaguya no longer hesitated. Her form transformed into a streak of light heading directly toward Earth.

Toneri remained alone in the void, gazing at surrounding floating moon wreckage. His homeland destroyed, he had no home to return to.

Might as well... also go to Earth. He vaguely remembered that Earth seemed to have the Byakugan branch family left by ancestors, apparently in a place called... "Konoha."

Thinking this, Toneri also didn't hesitate. Green light emanated from around him as he followed Kaguya flying toward Earth.
