"Ice-Make: Infinite Blade Leaves!"
With a soft shout, Ur thrust out both hands.
Countless leaf-shaped ice blades sprayed forward like a storm, raining down on Ethan's Cold Ring Shield.
Boom~!
The shield trembled under the relentless barrage, yet it withstood Ur's first wave of attacks without so much as a scratch.
But as Ur launched her second wave, steadily raising both the density and strength of her blades, the Cold Ring Shield finally began to show signs of strain.
Cracks spidered across its surface, sharp noises echoing as the pressure built.
And yet—it still held.
Despite the heavy assault, Ethan's shield endured, absorbing the full brunt of her magic.
Ur's eyes widened in surprise.
This was no ordinary result. She had been using intermediate-level Ice-Make spells, yet the Cold Ring Shield—based on nothing more than a low-level Ice Shield—had withstood it all.
Ethan hadn't just learned the spell after glancing at it once. He had improved it, strengthened it far beyond its original scope.
Even considering his earlier Ice Shock foundation, Ur couldn't help but feel astonished.
Her heart grew steadier with conviction.
Yes… this child truly is a super genius. His comprehension of Ice Magic is terrifying.
"At least when it comes to Ice Magic," she thought, "his talent is beyond question."
"It's late. Let's get some rest for tonight."
Ur placed her hand gently on Ethan's head, then took his hand and guided him back toward the room.
Ethan froze for a moment.
After all, in his previous life, he had been a single man who had never even held a girl's hand.
Ur's touch was cool to the skin, but at the same time strangely soothing, making his heart skip slightly.
Back in the house, under Ur's guidance, Ethan used a Fire Magic crystal to heat up water and enjoyed a hot bath.
Later, he returned to the room Ur had prepared for him.
The day had been long and filled with surprises, and his body was tired. Before long, Ethan collapsed onto the bed and drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.
…The next morning.
After a simple breakfast, Ur gathered Ethan and Lyon together and led them up the snowy mountain.
"If you want to become a powerful Ice Mage," Ur said as she strode confidently into the snow, "then you must first develop a strong resistance to the cold."
"Today we begin our daily training!"
After saying this, Ur set the tone by shrugging off her outer coat, leaving only a tight-fitting outfit beneath.
Against the white snow, her pale skin was just as dazzling, her elegant figure a striking contrast to the harsh cold. On that snowy mountain, she looked like a vision carved from ice itself.
Ethan froze, his face stiffening.
He knew from the original story that Ur trained her disciples with this unorthodox method, but seeing it in person was something else entirely.
He wasn't truly a child inside, and the sight was enough to make his heart skip uncomfortably.
While Ethan was still in shock, Lyon had already stripped down, leaving only a pair of underwear.
"Ethan, don't be shy. There's no one else around!"
Lyon smirked as he watched Ethan hesitate, his eyes flashing mischievously.
"I'm just curious," Ethan muttered as he reluctantly untied his own clothes. "Is this training method really effective?"
"This kind of training is naturally effective," Ur explained with composure. "It doesn't just build resistance to the cold. It also speeds up the absorption of magic particles…"
She almost mentioned how it increased affinity with Ice Magic, but when she thought of Ethan's astonishing talent, she kept that detail to herself.
"Sit cross-legged, focus your mind, and enter meditation. You'll understand once you try."
Leaving him with that, Ur sat down on the snow, crossing her legs and closing her eyes, her presence serene as she entered meditation.
On the other side, Lyon had also quickly entered meditation.
After all, he had been following Ur for quite some time. This was hardly his first exposure to such training. Though in the beginning he had nearly frozen to death, now he was well accustomed to it.
Watching both Ur and Lyon sitting calmly in meditation, Ethan copied their posture, folding his legs beneath him and closing his eyes, attempting to enter the same state.
…
Meditation was the foundation of becoming a mage. By focusing the mind, one could absorb the magic particles scattered in the air, gradually stepping onto the true path of magic.
Since Ethan's body had already been transformed into an immortal physique, he too possessed this ability. But there was one difference—the particles he absorbed would no longer convert into ordinary magical power, but into immortal mana instead.
Suppressing every stray thought, Ethan steadied his breathing and quickly slipped into his first true meditation.
In that state, his perception sharpened.
He could sense the air around him teeming with faint, light-blue orbs—magic particles.
And here in the snowy mountains, they were almost entirely aligned with the Ice attribute.
Ethan wasted no time.
He focused and began to draw them in.
At once, the surrounding magic particles streamed into his body, merging with his immortal physique.
There, they were swiftly refined, transforming into pure mana that filled him from within…
